Came here on a random road trip passing through for work. Decided to stop here as there were many options to choose from. Decided to go to the poke shop, and discovered a nice lunch poke bowl! They have a station for water that is located in the middle of the seating area, which is also near the trash bins for convenience. I normally have such a good experience here but the person working at loud roots today was in a horrible mood and barley gave me enough food in my bowl. I get a bowl at loud roots probably twice a week and it was not the same, poor customer service and didn't get me the dressing I asked for. read more

I really liked the variety of options. I got a burger and fries from Little Darling my first visit and they were great, especially the fries with garlic confit & arbol aioli dipping sauce. My next visit I had the Wildchild Brisket nachos and the Saint Bernardo Gelato and I went back with 2 coworkers and we all had WildChild. But the opening of their first food hall on August 16, 2022, catapulted them beyond many towns similar in size. Located between Auburn University's beautiful new culinary arts building and the Hotel at Auburn, and managed by the Ithaka Hospitality Partners company which also operates the hotel, Hey Day Market is doing everything right. They attract college students and visitors by offering a wonderful variety of independent eateries with foods difficult to find elsewhere in the city. So Hey Day doesn't do chain restaurants. The 10,000-square-foot space stays open until 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. And they even accept students' Dining Dollars and Tiger Club cards at eight of the nine stalls (all except The Bar). Visiting family in Auburn, AL today and we stopped by @heydaymarketauburn for some lunch. Hey Day Market is a food hall on the campus of Auburn University. There's about nine diverse food vendors from pizza to poke, Cuban to Cantonese to everything in between. We settled on smash burgers from @littledarlingburgerco. I got the classic double combo. It's a double patty smash burger with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and house-made beer mustard. It comes with crispy fries and a pair of house-made dipping sauces. I chose the garden basil and lemon aioli and the confit garlic and arbol aioli. The burger was delicious and made better by that beer mustard. Ground beef patties perfectly smashed for optimal thinness and crispness. Of the two dipping sauces for the fries, I really enjoyed the basil and lemon aioli. Light and fresh and a perfect diversion from the rich burger. A perfect complement. I love food halls and Hey Day is a good one. Really makes me wish that Jax had a food hall concept like this. read more

I am a huge fan of hey day! It is an amazing addition to auburn which allows for a great selection of food. I haven't tried all of the restaurants, however Wildchild Tacos and Arricia Pizza are two of my favorites. The pizza from Arricia isn't the exact same as the restaurant next door, I feel as if the dough is a little thicker in hey day so be mindful of that. The service is very efficient, but I do say be prepared for a long wait for Friday and Saturday nights. read more

The Hey Day Market is essentially a food court located across from the campus. It is a great place to go when you have a large group of picky eaters. The restaurants include Asian, Italian, American and a bar. I generally order from the Poké bowl restaurant. It is my understanding that the restaurant is staffed by Auburn students. I've always been pleased with their tenderness and honesty. As an example, one time I ordered a bottled water and they told me it was a lot cheaper just to get the free water in the main part of the court. You can tell they work with students quite often. Be prepared for a loud experience. The dining area is basically an open room with large tables. More than likely you will sit with another party at your table. This is not been an impediment. It is actually fun to meet people around you. read more

They hey day market has a couple tasty options like the crepe, pizza, and burger. The Chinese and Mexican places use to be good until they changed the menu and portions sizes which has made the price extremely wild and expensive. The service appears to be outsourced to a company that is not part of the university cause there is no way anyone interviewed these people and thought that they would be a good fit in customer service. Also all the prices are ridiculous but at least when u pay that much u expect them to get the order right. But when they do not they question whether u ordered it correctly. read more

What a fun addition to the Auburn area! Visited with a friend for the first time today and we both enjoyed ourselves. The food choices are pretty wide-ranging. You can have pizza, tacos, fried rice/noodles, burgers, ice cream, or cocktails (and more) so there is plenty of reason to visit more than once. Expect to wait about 10-15 minutes for your food. This isn't like the mall food courts of old where you have it at the snap of a finger. Of course, this depends a lot on the crowd too. The only reason I knocked it a star was the DJ music there was so loud! Made it difficult in a lot of ways to enjoy relaxed conversation. read more

So much to try! Unfortunately, I was only in town visiting. But I went to "Darling Burgers". I had the vegetarian option. It was a patty made from black beans, corn, and spices. It was awesome!! The "Darling Fries" were cooked to perfection. My husband was seated next to me. Even though he claimed to be "so full", he himself to several fries. Also, got a frozen bellini at another vendor. Usually love Heyday. I got pizza which was great. Wife and son got Birria tacos from Wildchild. They have had the Birria there before. This time, they couldnt eat any of their meals because the Birria sauce tasted so bad. I didn't believe it could be so bad, so I tried some, and literally had to spit it out onto my plate. Had a gas taste. Smelled and tasted like there was kerosene in it. Not sure what went wrong, but when the young girl manager came to our table she said she tasted the brisket by itself, but not the birria sauce and said brisket tasted fine. Guess she didnt want to taste the actual item my people got‍. She said she hopes our experience is better next time and I politely told her there wont be a next time.
