All responded fairly quick (within an hour) and I had given enough information and pictures so they all knew exactly what was needed. I received quotes all the way up to 175/hour plus parts to 225 parts included. Others even wanted to come by and charge me to look at the job to quote me (which they said the fee would be waived if I used them for the job after..but seriously?). Mark responded to call him and leave him a voicemail explaining I had contacted him via a message and he would call me back. He called back within 10 minutes of me leaving the message and spoke to me on the phone. He thanked me for the detailed pictures and asked if I was handy at all as this was a very simple job and he didnt want me to pay a large sum for such a simple job. He said he would come if I still wanted him to but explained everything I would have to do and where to go get the parts. He even said if I get stuck I can call him to come over. The part was cheap around 20 dollars and the work involved seems super simple (I watched some videos on youtube on how to do this). I havent fixed it yet as I am waiting for the part but i am confident now thanks to his information and knowing I can call him if I need him to come for the job. Its hard to find good contractors for work such as this and I am keeping his number for any future jobs.

Mark is a great plumber with an extensive history of experience and is your "go to" local plumber…read morefor all your residental needs. He is generally very helpful with knowledge and good with talking through planned permit work or a good story to boot. He just recently installed the final touch for a whole home portable backup generator at my home, a new 3/4in gas line basement run to supply the generator (or maybe a deck grill someday), the inspector was very accomodating and approved the work quickly! He has also previously helped with regular maintenance like water heater anode rod replacement and a few gate to ball valve replacements for leaky or seized water valves. See photos below of the gas line connection and whole home portable backup generator setup. Apparently it's "unusual" here in MA to have whole home portable backup power (Costco bargain!), everyone is told a $15k concrete slab generator is the minimum, at least, that is what Castle Electric said to me! Do it yourself for a 1/3rd of the cost with Marks help and skip the upselling from the "other" options out there!

Taking a few stars off because I'm very disappointed with how this situation was handled…read more Cullen Plumbing installed a faucet for me that had been purchased about 4-5 months earlier. The workers who did the installation were very nice and professional, and I paid $175 for the installation. About a month or so later, the plastic sprayer part began sticking and would stay on. The hose itself was fine. One day I noticed a Cullen Plumbing van at my condo complex and saw that they were already doing work in my building. I left a message explaining the problem and said that if they happened to have time to look at it while they were already there, that would be great, but that it was not an emergency and they could come whenever it was convenient. Marc stopped by my unit that same day and agreed that the plastic sprayer part was not working properly. He asked whether Cullen had purchased the faucet or whether I had. I honestly could not remember at the time because I had been hospitalized with sepsis in December, which had significantly affected my memory, among other things. Marc replaced only the plastic sprayer part. There was no hose replacement, and the part took just a few minutes to swap out. I did not receive a bill at the time. A few months later, while preparing to sell my condo, I was going through my Home Depot account and discovered that I had, in fact, purchased the faucet myself. I wanted to do the right thing, so I contacted Marc and let him know that I had purchased it and told him he should send me a bill for replacing the sprayer part. Imagine my surprise when I received an invoice for $190 -- more than I had originally paid for the entire faucet installation -- for replacing a simple plastic sprayer part that took only minutes, especially since Cullen was already working in my building that day. I had no problem paying a fair and reasonable amount for the part and Marc's time. In fact, I was the one who reached out months later to make sure I paid for it. But $190 for this particular repair feels excessive and, unfortunately, like a quick money grab after I tried to do the honest thing. I'm disappointed because my original experience with the workers was positive. Cullen Plumbing also does a lot of work at the new community I've moved to, but fortunately I've since received a referral to another plumber whom I'll be using in the future.

I appear to be joining the chorus of poor reviews of this company. I need to call them out for…read moreneither listening to, nor addressing my request for service, and yet, brazenly invoicing me for the "pleasure". When Joe Jacobs (then the plumbing inspector for the Town of Sharon) owned this company, they were recommended by ANOTHER plumber (who was unable to undertake the job) to replace a gas boiler in 2016. The boiler had blown as a result of a poor contract repair job by the utility company, and Joe's company did the installation very well. THEY insisted on hiring an electrician to hard wire a carbon monoxide detector up above the plane of a drop ceiling, where the ceiling tiles were not in place. Recently, however, when the drop ceiling tiles were replaced, it was brought to my attention that we needed the detector to be moved BELOW the ceiling to meet code. I called the company, and explained the problem, both to the scheduler and to "Dave," who now apparently owns the company. Not bothering to explain to me that (1) they could not do anything involving electrical work, and (2) the code requirements had been loosened, and that I could easily have installed a 10 year sealed battery detector, they sent out a plumber, who declined to move the existing detector, but instead started opening a sealed battery detector. I told him that wasn't what I had asked for, and he left within 2 minutes. I was billed $180 for a "service call," where the 2 simple statements above on the phone would have saved them and me the inconvenience (YES, I paid the invoice, not wanting to get into an argument), but this kind of shoddy and irresponsible "business" practice deserves to be exposed.

Martin was recommended to me by Yelp's request a quote function. He was one of the few plumbers on the recommended who was willing to give me an estimate without having to send someone over first. The price was fair and Martin was responsive in scheduling a time the same day I contacted him. The plumber on Martin's team that I worked with was knowledgable, professional, and worked quickly to replace the fill valve within 30 minutes. We weren't 100% sure if that would fix the problem since this appeared to be a slow leak so they were willing to hold off invoicing me and ordering additional parts just in case the fill valve wasn't the issue. Luckily replacing the fill valve did the trick but I appreciated the gesture anyways. Still waiting to figure out how their payment works since I received an online invoice with an option to pay online. Anyways they did a great job and I would recommend them for toilet repair.

But Martin got in there and sopped up ALL the water and was able to determine that it wasn't the heater but my HVAC. He was an extremely kind and patient gentleman. He made a call and procured the proper service gentleman for me. He stayed with the HVAC guy until the problem was resolved. In addition I realized that I would be actually needing a NEW water heater in a very short time. So I made arrangements with Mr. McManus to have that done. I can't adequately express how impressed I was with both the quality of service and the timeliness of his response. I would bestow my most unabashed praise on Mr. McManus and both his professionalism and attention to both my needs and requirements and what was needed to get the job done. 5 STARS

He came in when he said he would and had the problem fixed in about 15 minutes. While he was working, he'd noticed our heating system was ancient and offered to look at it. He told us the one he would recommend and why, and gave us a quote right then on a high efficiency replacement. We'd had several quotes on the job and we knew James' price was very good, and it didn't change after he quoted it. We scheduled the job and we're still admiring the work he and his crew did. The replacement was a work of art, done on time and has been running perfectly ever since. (All the copper was polished ). We have already recommended Dalelis Plumbing to some relatives and friends and those that have needed work have all been very happy.
