I mentioned during my appointment that going to the doctor gives me anxiety and that I would really appreciate someone taking the time to review my lab results with me after my physical. After my bloodwork and routine physical, instead of receiving a call to discuss my results, I got a phone call from the front desk telling me I owed $375. My immediate reaction was confusion because my annual physical is fully covered by my insurance. Being unexpectedly told I owed hundreds of dollars after what I believed was a covered preventive visit was incredibly stressful. What made the situation worse was the interaction with the front desk. When I expressed my surprise and frustration, the staff member laughed and said something along the lines of, "Sorry, your picture looked so innocent and now you're pissed." That felt completely unprofessional and dismissive, especially given how anxious I already was. They then offered to "discount" the charge to somewhere in the $200 range. After I questioned the bill and went back and forth with them, they ultimately removed the charge entirely. If the fee could simply be waived after I pushed back, it made the whole situation feel arbitrary and left me wondering whether patients who don't question these bills just end up paying them. It honestly felt like a money grab rather than a transparent billing process. What finally pushed me to write this review is that I still had never received a call to go over my lab work or test results, despite specifically asking for one during my appointment. When I called the office myself, I was simply told they would send me a link to access my results online. Then they added that if I wanted someone to actually explain my results in more depth, I would need to schedule *and pay for* another appointment. That was honestly the most disappointing part of the entire experience. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I wanted a physician to spend a few minutes reviewing the bloodwork from my annual physical, especially after I had shared that medical appointments make me anxious. Instead, I was treated like discussing my own health was an additional service that required another visit. Overall, I left feeling dismissed, frustrated, and genuinely hurt. The only proactive phone call I received from this office was about collecting money--not about my health or my results. Between the confusing billing, the unprofessional interaction with the front desk, and the complete lack of follow-up regarding my care, I cannot recommend this practice.

My first time appointment was for an annual checkup/physical and this Dr. spent all of 10 minutes with me. Half of that time he asked questions (what are your health issues? medications? allergies?). The other half of the time (e.g. the "physical) consisted of blood pressure, height/weight, listening to heart (front/back), a cursory check of my throat/lymph nodes, a quick peek in my ears, a light shined across my eyes, a handful of abdominal palpitations, and...DONE. Gotta say the 5ish minutes of examination takes the cake as the fastest (and least comprehensive) physical I've ever had (and I've had quite a few!). All told, I waited 20ish minutes to be seen, was seen for 10ish minutes, waited 20ish minutes to have my blood drawn, and was back on the curb within the hour. I would feel blessed if I were a regular patient who was visiting for something other than an annual checkup, but, as a new patient who was here for a first visit and a physical? I feel like I got the "get em in and get em out" treatment. Yuk, yuk, thanks for the buck. Bye now! A highlight was that another doctor's nurse took the time to draw my blood. She likely saw me scowling as I sat in a cramped closet/supply room waiting to have my blood drawn and kindly offered to pick up Dr. Paolino's nurses' slack. Unfortunately, this singular highlight didn't make up for the overcramped/overpopulated waiting area, the somewhat rundown appearance of the surroundings, the semi-politeness of the receptionist, or the above-mentioned interactions with the doctor. Now, this review is LONG overdue: I wrote it and then waited to make sure there would be no lab result and/or billing snafus. It's been almost a year and, theoretically, things may have perked up at this doctor's office--but I doubt it. Needless to say, after my initial appointment here, I've never returned. BOTTOM LINE: Don't believe the review-based hype. This doctor may be all that an a bag of chips for some of his patients, but he wasn't for me. Throw in the other mentioned detractors and make up your own mind accordingly.

The moment I opened the door I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. When I walked back to the room I was immediately instructed by the physician assistant to get undressed and put on a gown which was very odd to me. Usually when it's your first appointment establishing primary care you aren't asked to get undressed so I was a bit caught off guard and decided to wait to undressed until after talking with the doctor and going over what we would be doing at todays appointment that required me to get undressed. When Dr. Lyon came in (before introducing herself) she asked me in the rudest voice "why aren't you undressed?" And I said "I had a few questions before getting undressed" and she said "you could have still gotten undressed!" - I was so taken back as to why it was such an issue that I didn't get undressed immediately. She proceeded to ask me questions then abruptly interrupted me and said "you're not wearing a mask, let me get you one", she returned with a mask and I told her I didn't want to wear it (mind you the assistants in the office weren't wearing one, just her) and she told me "I had to wear it" I then responded with telling her I haven't had to wear a mask at a drs office in over a year, she proceeded to tell me to put it on. Given this woman's attitude I knew I couldn't trust her, so I told her we could end the appointment and I will go elsewhere. She immediately followed up with "okay! But you still owe me $50 for the appointment." When I was checking out I overheard the physician assistant say to the doctor "Dr. Lyon you were supposed to be better this year." So clearly this isn't the first time someone has left their appointments 10 minutes in. I'm honestly shocked by the amount of good reviews I see on Google. Her Yelp reviews are far more accurate, in which I'll note another girl had the same horrible experience with Dr. Lyon getting mad at her for not undressing right away. Academic pedigree and Accolades, Bed side manner, attentiveness, appearance of genuine concern, availability, and quality of advice are all better than I have had most anywhere. The most I have waited for an appointment was 30 minutes except when it was a last minute and i waited for the next open spot which was about an hour wait.
