I went to get my dress hemmed and the woman was insanely rude and said at first she would do it and then changed her mind and said to me rudely to go somewhere else and said she wouldn't even steam my dress even though she is a cleaners and alterations. Walked in to have shirts laundered, expecting the $5 price that is posted on the price list on the wall. I was told that folded shirts are $7.50. Fortunately I asked beforehand, as this is not posted anywhere. The folded shirt prices at other nearby cleaners are $5.00. Incredulous, I asked her to confirm the price and told her that was 50% more than the going rate. She confirmed that was the price and then said "bye." I have been an occasional but long time customer of Aristocrat because they generally do good work. However, I have been the subject of undisclosed pricing in the past. Linen shirts seem to be substantially more (I have since stopped taking linen shirts there), and white shirts also incur a surcharge. Hand ironing (which she does in her discretion) also seems to juice up the price. None of this is disclosed anywhere in the store or verbally without asking first. I gave this place one last shot today but will not be returning. read more

I've been going there once a week for years, and have always been greeted with a smile and nothing short of kindness. Kim is very organized, and she has never lost anything of mine. There's definitely a personal touch and a lot of caring that goes into her work. They are great at several things: 1. Collars always come out perfectly (this is important specially for people who wear ties). 2. Being kind to dogs (they always have treats for them when they visit). 3. Doing quick patches for old clothes. 4. Being honest if something is beyond their scope of expertise. I've tried other places, but they are just not consistent with their cleaning results. Worst quality dry cleaning I've ever experienced in 20 years of regularly using dry cleaners. Had a very minor stain on back of suit coat, and a few minor stains on slacks. Pointed it out while submitting for cleaning, and they were marked for special attention. Both items were returned with the stains still 100% the same. Not only that, the slacks were not pressed correctly and severely wrinkled. The owner was extremely defensive and rude when inquired. She said the stains were permanent, which was obviously not true. I asked her to try cleaning them again, and her answer was to offer me a $2 discount instead! Suffice to say, I took the pants to my tried and true cleaner, Dan's cleaners on Cortland. I promptly received the items back from Dan's and lo and behold the stains were completely gone! Oh, and for half the price of Aristocrat, which is aptly named given their prices. Hence, avoid this cleaner at all costs, there are dozens of other cleaners in the area that will do a much better job. read more

I bought an expensive dress online that was a size too big and took to Aristocrat to see if they could alter it. The lady had me try on the dress and then came in with pins to mark where she would take it in. The dress still had the tags on it, so I asked her if she thought she could alter the dress or if I should return the dress. She told me she could take it in so I left it with her and agreed to pay $70 for the alteration. I go back a week later and try on the dress, only to see that the proportions were off. The chest and stomach areas were tight and the shoulders had extra material gathering around the neckline and armpit areas. I was extremely disappointed and asked if she could fix it further. She said it was always risky and did the best she could, but I asked why she didn't tell me upfront that she wasn't sure she could alter the dress appropriately. The dress was $400 and since I altered it, I cannot return it. To make matters worse, she still asked me to pay $50 for the alteration (she should have at least charged me nothing given how badly she messed up the dress). I will not be going back or recommending others to Aristocrat. read more

They were kind enough to give me $300 to replace the drapes, but I still was not refunded for the $120 I paid for the actual dry cleaning. Overall, I had to pay a lot out of pocket to replace them as they were over $100 each to replace new. read more

Very professional and fast service. Recently I brought a long dress that needed to be shortened and got my clothes pretty fast. It looked fantastic and the owner did a great job. I wore that dress yesterday for my friend's birthday party and I spilled champagne all over my dress. I was a bit worried and I went to the store this morning for dry cleaning. I asked the same day service, so I picked up tonight. The stains were gone and everything was perfect! The store is the best cleaner and I will definitely visit the store again! read more

The owner's partner called and apologized. He said they weren't able to find my shirt--they said they probably gave it to someone else--but that they wanted to reimburse me for it. I dropped off one white jacket two weeks ago. The jacket was very dirty and had some yellow stains on the front. It turned out very clean, no stains left. The owner was very nice and friendly, and prices are reasonable. I love this place! read more

Do NOT go here. This was the worst dry cleaning services I have ever received. I brought in a shirt a pair of slacks and a small jacket. She handed me my slip and the price was $27.50 O.K. so maybe a bit expensive but considering the neighborhood I thought maybe worth it. Wrong I get back my clothes and I briefly inspect them and something seems off. I asked her if they were dry cleaned or laundered and she answered"you brought them to a dry cleaners didn't you ?" Got home took the plastic off and the jacket had a musty odor like damp towels left in the dryer. I knew it hadn't been dry cleaned. The shirt and slacks smelled OK but no crease in the slacks and no starch as I requested. I get the feeling that these people have alot of one time customers because they focus on doing things on the cheap and not on quality customer service Don't be taken advantage of. This place is a joke and a major ripoff! A handful of months ago they charged me $8 to hem a pair of jeans. Great! I just picked up two more pairs I had them hem: $44!!! That's $22 to hem a pair of jeans?! WTF?! That's ridiculous. Her attitude was flippant and and she made some comment that it's the Marina, so that's what you pay. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! It's no wonder so many Millennials are avoiding the Marina like the plague! read more

My wife and I have been using Aristocrat for ~1 year for both wash and fold and dry cleaning and have had a very good experience. It seems like the only people who have gone on Yelp to review are those who had a one-off bad experience so unfortunately the reviews are very low but we have nothing but good things to say about Aristocrat. The owner is great, always remembers us by name and even has a treat for our dog every time we bring him in. The wash and fold service is pretty good and pricing is roughly the same as other places we have evaluated. Dry cleaning is solid and timely as well. They are also incredibly honest - I left a large amount of cash in a pocket for wash and fold service once and the plant that does the cleaning collected it and returned it to me. Will continue to use them. read more
