I got a $50 gift card from a friend here and went during the day. The employee wasn't in the store and ran in after she saw me looking around for assistance. She was not kind, she wasn't very helpful. I asked for a foundation and she recommended me a couple and I picked the $70 Sulhwasoo bc it felt really silky on my hand. I ended up using some on my face and liked it. I come home to find the oil on top and color clumped on the bottom. That's fine, you just shake it right? The expiration date is of Dec 2025. I have 6 months to use this whole bottle. I used my last foundation for over a year. There is no way a foundation shelf life is only 6 months, that thing has been sitting on that shelf for years. Also, I bought Anessa sunscreen for less than $20 bucks, they sell it for $39. This place can't get rid of their make up bc of their prices and customer service so if you do end up shopping here, you'll end up with overpriced, almost expired makeup. O and they make it clear there are no refunds or exchanges. I have never encountered a beauty store that doesn't do exchanges. How will you ever try new make up at this store? Aritaum sells Korean skincare and beauty items. Some brands sold here are Laneige, Sulwhasoo, Innisfree, Hanyul, and Iope. It's really nice to be able to find Korean skincare and beauty items from different brands in one store, but I thought the employees here were too pushy. Before I could say anything, one of the employees immediately took my items from my hands and brought them to the register. I've always passed Aritaum when I used to frequent K-Pop Beauty across the walkway in The Source. It was never really busy and I noticed the clerk would look up from whatever she was doing and would greet me politely every time I went in. After not getting much clear direction for maskne solutions at K-Pop Beauty, I decided to go to Aritaum and ask someone there for advice. The gal who helped me showed me different brands and explained the pros and cons of each line. She tested products on the back of my hand so I could see and feel the textures for myself. She seemed well-versed on the lines and I was quite impressed with her expertise. I told her I needed to think about two products she showed me from Iope and she said that was fine. She mentioned their rewards program and promised that if I changed my mind and wanted to buy the items, they were valid for making new members jump to the second tier of their rewards program automatically. She also offered to apply 10% off from the welcome discount to my order if I bought the items. I came back a weekend or so later and told her I wanted to try the products out. She made it clear that they do not do returns, which is explicitly stated at checkout with a clear sign. That was fine with me as I liked that Iope was mid-priced and unscented. (My current items have a fragrance and it was making my skin worse when I wore a mask.) As promised, she applied my 10% discount to my purchase that day and shared that there were more discounts coming up for April. She was kind to give me some samples for an Iope moisturizer as well. The seller on Friday night is a scammer. This is the first time I buy espoir lipstick canberry gloss, but she gave me the Eiffel velvet tint. Usually, I do not check again. In the morning I open it to use I realized that it's the wrong product. But the store is NO RETURN NO REFUND. PLEASE READ THIS & AVOID this place at all cost!!. Their products are excessively priced. I discovered that you can find the same items on other official Korean websites for half the cost. What bothered me the most was an incident a few days ago. I went there to purchase a cushion, and an employee named Alison attempted to upsell me a Nuse makeup base. While doing so, she abruptly left to assist another customer, even though there was another employee available to help. I found it a bit impolite and peculiar but didn't dwell on it. I was deliberating between two different colors (white and pink) for the Nuse makeup base and ultimately decided on the standard white color. I informed another employee of my choice while Alison was still assisting the other customer. After being charged for the cushion and makeup base, I went home (I live 30miles away from there) and was excited to try out my new makeup. When I opened the makeup base package, I noticed it was pink (they gave me the wrong product), but I didn't mind, as I also wanted the pink base. So, I decided not to drive all the way back to Buena Park and use the pink base. To my surprise, when I dispensed the product, I realized it was a completely different product. That's when I called the store (I had to call five times before they answered, which was ridiculous). I informed Alison about the situation, and she told me they couldn't exchange or refund any make up products and if the box is opened, as it was stated on the receipt. If they had informed me that makeup products are final sale before charging me, I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place. They were quite deceptive about this. When I suggested that, since it was their mistake from the beginning, they should at least exchange the product as a courtesy, her manager, whom Alison spoke to on the phone, had the audacity to say, "You should have came back right away when you realized the product was incorrect." To clarify, I didn't mind using the pink base, but you gave me a completely different product. So, the mistake was due to your incompetence not me. Alison told me to come by on Thursday so her so-called "manager" could resolve the issue. However, I made it clear that it didn't sound like the manager would provide a realistic solution, so I didn't want to waste my time driving all the way to Buena Park for something that wouldn't happen. That's when Alison said, "oh no, I think my manager will be able to exchange the product for you." So, I thought, "Oh, okay, maybe their customer service isn't that bad." Fast forward to Thursday, I drove 30miles to Buena Park to visit the store. When I met the "manager" and explained the situation, her way of handling it was to scold me and shame me for not checking the receipt that clearly stated "no exchanges for makeup products." ( honestly, who checks every freaken receipt) and again this wouldn't have happened if you gave me the correct product in the first place. I told her that they should inform customers about this policy before ringing up the product, and I wouldn't have come if Alison hadn't told me they would compensate somehow. They totally wasted my time! Honestly, even other local Korean makeup stores would have offered store credit. I wasn't seeking a refund; I wanted an exchange for their mistake. I told her that in our current state, where Sephora, Nordstrom, and even small local Korean cosmetic businesses offer exchanges, refunds, or store credit, it's absurd that they would mistreat and mislead their customers like this. The saleslady was super friendly, and never tried to upsell me. If I held a $50 product, she'd steer me to a $25 product and tell me it was the best seller. She also was extremely generous with samples at check out. I bought some men's lotion, a nighttime skincare gift set, and a lipstick for $90 (the men's lotion was $50). Walked into the store with a friend hopeful to find some cute makeup. While in there, the little short lady with darker / black hair was BEYOND RUDE. She kept giving my friend and i weird attitude / looks while seeming to speak normally / friendly with everyone else. I called the store to do a stock check for an eye brow pencil and the girl that answered the phone was super rude. Just a simple hello and no no no was her response. She didn't even want to wait for me to ask what type of brow pencil it was. Before I can even finish, she answered no. All I was able to get in before being interrupted was, I am looking for a brow and then a simple no was her answer to me. I understand they have young part time workers but being nice and professional should be a required skill especially working in retail. They really need to train their staff on customer service. I'm extremely disappointed at the customer service of an employee at the Buena Park Source Mall's Aritaum. I first purchased a Sulwhasoo Skincare Line for $580 at the store about one week ago. I realized that I was not given the 10% off as the store had advertised and I went back to request the 10% off (the employee who helped me wasn't present) so another employee put her on the phone to ask about the 10% off. When the employee handed me the phone and I inquired about the discount, she said that "I couldn't get the 10% off, and that I had to accumulate points like at Sephora." I then asked her where on the coupon did it mention points, and she told me that she could offer me 10 dollars in cash instead. I said no, because I wanted my 10% off that she originally did not scan for me the first time I purchased the items. She began screaming, not yelling but wordlessly screaming like a psychotic person and hung up the phone, completely disturbing me. The store employee just repeated that she could not give me the 10% off and "the store was not doing well financially." Then, I insisted that I wanted to refund the product that I originally bought. She then said that they didn't do refunds and the system was "too hard to do returns," so I asked to exchange the products that I first bought with other products within the same price range for "store credit. " While I picked out the products, The other employee called the store employee again multiple times, and then I realized that I was receiving terrible customer service, and I wanted to speak to her why she was so upset and physically screaming through the phone. She responded by saying, "It's because I just woke up (mind you, this was 3pm) and because she was confused." I am extremely upset with the customer service at this Aritaum, and I can't believe that the Aritaum company allows their employees to treats their customers so poorly. If the customer does not understand how to use points as new then the store needs to explain well and communicate the issues not verbally abuse others. I am not writing this to get 10% or any other discount. I am letting people know how they treat their customer with such a rude and horrible manner. The employee who frantically screaming on the phone should be disciplined on basic customer service, such as not screaming at customers through the phone or hang up (twice) as well as basic explanations about promotions that are occurring in the store. Also, NO REFUND policy and information should be transparente to customers before purchase. This behavior is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable!!. I bought two aritaum eyeshadows and a highlighter from here before my movie time. The service was really nice and they had so many aritaum, mamonde, Iope products that you can't really find in America unless you buy it online. The prices are also really similar to the ones you would see in Korea too!! There were testers to test most of the makeup and they had a wide range too, except for some that were sold out. I also got two samples of the laneige water sleeping mask.
