What made it even more special was sharing the experience with my sister. We laughed, talked, and really enjoyed the pampering together. It turned out to be a lovely bonding time. When we finished, our skin was glowing, and we felt completely rejuvenated. We left the spa on cloud nine! The Scan: It was done with makeup on which was mistake one. It said I had medium/dark skin that isn't sensitive to sun, based on my brown eyeshadow. It also said I'm 92% oily but I was wearing beef tallow on my face after working all day to help my dry skin (that has been dry my whole life). Any well trained esthetician would be able to see that the scan was inaccurate. They also didn't ask any questions about current products or skin history to verify whether the scan was accurate or not. They based my treatment on the scan which may or may not be the cause of the issue I ended up with. Treatment: good treatment overall but nothing to compare it to since this was my first Korean facial. My skin had a nice glow afterward. The staff was nice so no complaints there. The products weren't clearly explained and I didn't receive any info about them which was another red flag. Post: 3 days after my treatment I developed dermatitis, as seen in pictures and determined by my dermatologist. It's unclear what caused the dermatitis. Post one week: skin has healed mostly with some redness still around my mouth. No scarring. The staff saw my original review and was very concerned and called me. I admit I should have contacted them first prior to the review. They talked to me at length and asked many questions and they did truly seem to care and want to make it right. They did say that they are tightening procedures and the makeup should have been cleaned off first and said they should have asked about current products. This is something they said they normally do but didn't that day. They had concern about the beef tallow but I didnt use any after the facial, just the products they recommended (and I purchased from them). I don't think that was the cause. They offered another facial (very gentle and healing) and my money back which I appreciate considering I paid $100 for a derm appointment and antibiotics. I came to this location with high expectations. I initially found them on Instagram and the reviews seemed positive, so I decided to give them a try. They offered a free facial analysis, which sounded promising at first. Unfortunately, the actual facial was extremely disappointing. I explained that my main concerns were that my skin felt dull and that I felt like my face was aging quickly. During the facial, there was no proper cleansing or preparation of my skin. The esthetician simply applied a few different serums with a very light massage. After that, she placed what felt like a mesh cloth with some type of mud or mask on my face and left the room for about 30 minutes. There was little to no communication during the entire service. The esthetician spoke almost no English and did not explain what products were being used or what was happening during the treatment. I walked in and out looking exactly the same, with no noticeable improvement to my skin. The only real difference was that I was $250 lighter. A representative quickly reached out to help me find a date, which was nice since they're usually fully booked. I did the skin analysis, which included photos and a detailed breakdown of areas to improve. After all this time, I finally learned my skin type is oily! My main concerns were pore size and texture, and the aesthetician recommended specific treatments. They even emailed me the full report afterward. Afterward, I had a hydrating facial with some extraction, and it came with a relaxing body massage. They also deducted my $50 deposit from the total, which was a nice touch. I wanted to book the recommended treatments right after, but they told me appointments were booked months in advance. I appreciated that they didn't push sales like other places, though I wish they helped me schedule my next visit. Everyone was very welcoming at the start, but parking was rough.... only about six spots in a small alley, so be ready to circle around. I typically get monthly facials, but I wanted something more personalized rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment. The ladies at the front desk were nice and easy going. My appointment began with an in-depth skin analysis, and it was refreshing to finally have my skin type clearly confirmed. The analysis covered skin age, pores, elasticity, wrinkles, included tailored product recommendations and the results were emailed to me. Based on the results, the esthetician customized the facial to my specific skin needs. Although I was originally scheduled for the Blue Facial, I received the Yellow Facial due to a minor hiccup which was handled and compensated appropriately. The facial included a relaxing face, neck, and upper back massage on a heated bed which was a nice touch. Turning into parking from Beach blvd is a little bit scary as the turn point is tight and cars tend to go fast on beach. Parking is somewhat limited but they do have their own lot. Lobby is beautiful and marketed well. Met with the professional who did my skin ID analysis and they explained it and emailed me all the info as well. Then I received a massage and facial to treat the areas I wanted to work on. I came in for the advertised "free $79 skin analysis scan." The experience itself was good, but the pricing was a little confusing. I paid a $50 deposit when booking (which goes toward a facial), but when I arrived I was also asked to pay $29 for the scan that was advertised as free. I wish that part had been explained more clearly upfront. That said, the girl who did my scan was very knowledgeable and pointed out several things about my skin that I didn't know before, which I appreciated. I received the TROIPEEL a few months back and am finally writing my review! The front desk ladies were all very sweet and explained the entire process to me in detail. I was a bit worried about the pain level and downtime but the pain was a 4 out of 10 and the downtime is not as bad as I thought it would be! :D I know you need a minimum of three sessions to see results but I noticed a huge difference in texture and skintone after the first session. Second, after taking all these fancy pictures of my face, they only gave me a generic menu of what they do. It seems like a waste of a good machine to not do anything customizable with the findings. I had clogged pores, clearly on the pictures and yet there was not a single extraction done. Just my cleaning and vibrator on my face. All which I can do at home on the daily. Making an appointment was easy because they also reply by text. Which is convenient for those who have busy schedules or can't easily step away for calls during business hours. I was looking for something more than a typical spa facial, but have not yet gathered the courage to get microneedling or a chemical peel. So Google and Yelp took me to Troiareuke. I saw that they have a herbal version of microneedling (Troipeel), but also facials + massages. I figured if I chicken out of the peel or it wasn't for me, I'll still get a facial. Seeing my skin on HD jumbo screen definitely helped build my courage lol. For someone who has no pain tolerance, the pain level of the Troipeel was 6/10. Given that I mentally prepared for a level 12/10. I did not commit to any multiple session packages because it does require at least 3 days of not being able to wash your face post treatment. Redness, added hydration from aftercare (I was a grease ball), followed by few more days of some visible peeling. I was not prepared to coordinate my work schedule around the downtime. But I would not have hesitated to commit if I had enough confidence to not care. They sent me off with a mini aftercare bag and went over the steps in detail. I waited 10+ days to write this review to give my full experience a chance. Even with just one treatment, there were noticeable difference in my skin! Definitely going back.
