there was a sale at aritzia, so naturally, i ducked in to check it out. finally found the tshirt i've been hunting down for over three months, in my size and design. i grabbed two sizes just in case, since it fits small. this canadian retailer was founded in vancouver back in 1984, and their flagship location at robson and thurlow is made up of three connected storefronts. it's spacious, and sleek, complete with a lounge area featuring leather sofas, knit poufs, and a sculptural wire frame lounger with a matching footstool. part showroom, part chill out zone, it blends fashion and lifestyle in a way that feels more boutique than chain. they carry their own in house brands like wilfred (feminine and elevated), babaton (tailored and sleek), and tna (casual streetwear vibes), plus their iconic super puff line for the fashion forward fashionistas. now for the twist: no mirror in the fitting room (rude), so i debated just buying both tees and calling it a day. i was wearing a dress and then remembered i had shorts on underneath. crisis averted. mission accomplished. the a/c was strong, the staff were helpful. finally snagged the tee i'd been manifesting for ages, and of course, the one thing i wanted wasn't part of the sale. typical. read more

This experience speaks to online shopping in the US for the holidays, which ended up in customer service out of Vancouver. This speaks to that and not a physical storefront. I purchased expensive pants for Christmas end of November for my wife. The pants were $30 off but still well over $100 dollars total. Christmas came and my wife didn't like them. Ok, it happens. I moved to return them to be told that it was past two weeks and couldn't be done. I explained it was a Christmas gift. Happily, customer service relented on their policy for that allowing me to return them. However, I then received a gift card unexpectedly rather than a refund. It was explained that this is policy if the item is marked down. Really? I said to customer service I'll chalk it up to caveat emptor but to think that I'd need to read deeply in the returns policy when purchasing clothing online for the holidays to make sure I'm not out over $100 essentially (my wife doesn't like their clothing) is terrible policy. The customer service agent was nice and tried to see what she could do but was told that she didn't have the power to do anything. That's also bad customer service: failing to empower the agents who are the face of the company with the customers. So I explained I wouldn't make a stink but would be letting people online know of my negative experience so that no one else should suffer my fate. Hence this review. Beware and good luck! read more

Very good store with plenty of friendly sales associates that will help you and arrange for your fitting room. I like clothes & quality is very nice! I bought myself few items that I liked. The only thing I don't like that mirrors are not in fitting room. I choose few blouses to try while I came in my dress so I coudn't go out to see them because I didn't had any pants to try with them. Also when there is a lot of girls trying clothes it gets very cramped and Also I am shy person it get me pretty uncomfortable to fit clothes while others are watching & sales associates make comments... I prefer privacy within the fitting room. But it just how I feel... I didn't return anything so I am not sure about return policy but girls at the checkout made it clear that is was the final sale. It was fun and successful. Based on one quick experience during a big sale... stopped in while walking Robson and looking to spend some of my Canadian dollars - easy enough you'd think on Robson. What appeared to be a small shop ended up being a really huge shop that took up the space of at least four - all connected internally at street level. The place was hopping, and there were definitely more customers than salespeople because of a big sale that was going on. I guess they're well known. Huge selection of fashionable ladies wear aimed at the urban consumer. I was able to scan the whole inventory and picked out a couple of nice things to purchase. Thankfully the 50% mark down made it affordable. I found the staff to be very helpful, and attentive to my needs, even fetching other sizes when requested. The whole atmosphere was very plush, with multiple comfy lounging areas for those who prefer to stare at their phones instead of shopping I suppose. Obviously a rather high end fashion store geared for trendy young small women. I didn't recognize any of the brand names, but they do appear to be of good quality. Lucky for me I scored a couple of things, so I'm a happy camper. I will probably check them out next time I'm back in town. Fun just to experience the buzz from all the hyper little girls hopping and swapping clothes. I would give them five stars if they had a bigger selection of natural fiber fabrics, but will hand it to them for having a little more than most shops these days. I finally get the hype. Spent a long time with my daughter wandering about this humongous store today. (I've passed it by a gazillion times in the past year and never ventured inside, always meaning to check it out). What an amazing place! The store stretches practically the length of the block on Robson and is comprised of four separate rooms. There's a lounging area with plush upholstered chairs and ottomans between the first and second rooms (and quite a few young women were hanging out here, reclined and on their phones, perhaps waiting on friends). The demographics of this store seems to be young professional women aged 20 and up. And my kid and I really liked how the sizes of clothing ran from XXS to XL/XXL. (She's tiny and it's often hard to find clothing that fits her. Not here!). The clothing is gorgeous: well-made, what I call "basic-trendy". Amazing knits and fabrics, loungewear and active wear and career pieces. Being fall, there were lots of sweaters and coats and vests featured. The puff coats were unreal: super cushy and soft and padded, like marshmallows. We loved everything! And there were brand Adidas and Nike pieces that are on-point (as my kid says), and some sneakers that she says are capital-H Hot on the Market and super-hard to find elsewhere. There were tons of beautifully-appointed dressing rooms at the rear of the second room, and lots of employees on the floor, wandering about. The only reason I'm docking this store a star is because, despite my daughter and I wandering about this store for 20 minutes or so, separately, not once did anyone greet us or ask if they could help us find anything. This despite many employees on the floor. We felt ignored and invisible. In fact, the vibe we got from staff and the other customers in the store was pretty cold, aloof, impersonal. I absolutely love Aritzia for their clothing. The quality is good and the fit is usually great. I'm in close proximity to the Robson store so lately I've been coming there if I am shopping at Aritzia. I've been in a few times and unfortunately I always leave this location not wanting to come back because of the RUDE STAFF. Although Ive spent thousands of dollars here I've had a number of experiences where the staff are rude and snobbish. They act like they're better than you and if I say I'm going to think about buying something they scoff and roll their eyes. They were even giving me attitude as I was purchasing something!! Made me feel like I wasn't wanted as a valuable customer...EXTREMELY UNPROFFESSIONAL. It's unfortunate their so stuck up because a lot of them make closer to minimum wage... and basically work their to buy their clothes.... My 2 stars go to the clothing. I would rate the clothing 5 stars but until a serious overhaul in staff occurs at that location I will not leave a decent review. Love this location! It's huge so there is a lot to choose from and I personally had no trouble finding my size in any of the clothes. The employees were nice; your standard chipper aritzia employees. After reading lots of reviews from other locations about having trouble with returns and exchanges, I was nervous to exchange a pair of biker shorts i got that started to unravel at the seams after 1 wear. But, I walked right up to the front, explained the problem, and the woman at the register was very sympathetic: she found me a new version of the shorts and exhanged it for me with no problems. read more

BACKGROUND - We are lucky enough to have an Aritzia in Oregon at Washington Square. However, since Aritzia is originally from V. BC, their Aritzia stores are bigger, and just more magical. I had to go in and look. PROS - The ladies who work here are so fashionable! They all look like they walked off an Aritzia photoshoot set or something! They provide great ideas for how I can wear the Aritizia pieces I currently have in my small, humble wardrobe. CONS - The same ladies who provide such great inspiration are snobby. :( They walk past you, give you the eye (I don't know for what?), never smile or offer help. When I entered the Wilfred store and saw that the whole floor was one huge connected Aritzia store, I thought I'd died and entered shopping heaven. Aritzia is beyond a doubt my favourite clothing store. It sells a variety of clothes with styles ranging from casual to business formal, all of which are cute and of super good quality. I usually shop at the Park Royal location, and sometimes the Metrotown one or the Pacific Center one, but damn, this is the HOLY GRAIL of all Aritzia's. The store is literally massive and has so much stuff, not to mention the gorgeous, minimalistic decor. The service was also great and I liked getting a changing room set up in the beginning and adding things as I went so I didn't have to carry a boatload of clothes in all at once. I came here for the summer sale and managed to get a really cute tank top for just $9. Just a warning that i'm sure everyone must be aware of by now: don't expect genuine friendly service. These girls are kind of sharky and jump on you to take your items out of your hands to put them behind cash for you. It gets a little better when it's really busy and you can kind of avoid talking to anyone. My pet peeve about this place is that there are no mirrors in the changing room. Ugh, I have no interest in coming out of the changing room so that everyone can see what I'm trying on. So in general I felt very frustrated since I didn't know how anything looked -- I had to resort to using the self-camera on my phone! Ehh, it was so annoying. If I need a top that hangs nicely on the body without looking too hoochie, I know I'll find it at Aritzia. They have great staple pieces as well as trendier items and I find they are usually well made. It can be a little pricey sometimes, but I find that I wear the pieces a lot so I get my money's worth. I have yet to check out the Aritiza at Valley Fair....but I make sure to go to the Robson Street store every time I'm in Vancouver. They carry Marc by Marc Jacobs, See by Chloe, Minkpink, Ernest Sewn, tsubi, AG, Rock and Republics, Sevens, Citizens, TNA, Talula, T5S. I was impressed because they had smaller sized clothing for petite gals like me.....they actually have size 23 Rock and Republics here! I wanted a pair of R&Rs but was on the fence....until I came back to the US. After I came back I realized I needed those jeans and called Aritizia - they were kind enough to do a charge send for me. Pricey but worth it. Minus one star for lack of mirrors in dressing rooms, what is up with that? I used to love this store and I used to buy a lot from Wilfred , Wilfred free, Babylon collection and Le Fou. Of course pandemic had an impact recently but I honestly noticed there is absolutely no style to shop from anymore. If you noticed the past three years we got sane and same style just diff color maybe abs maybe pattern. TNA collection this was the only product and honestly I am so sick of seeing them only. All nice stuff we used to get from Wilfred are gone. Only slip dresses were the only style if dress we got - same style for three years in a row us bit much. I ordered a bodysuit online in White and received a product that was stained. In the crotch area, looked like a period stain that someone had tried to wash out. I didn't find their return policy very helpful either. I had to re-order the item and repay, while I sent back the dirty item and wait for my refund. So basically, I had to pay twice for this one item, and wait to get my money back for the original. What if I was someone who couldn't afford to buy this item twice and wait for a refund? If the reason for my return / exchange was MY choice (it didn't fit or I didn't like it) then I wouldn't complain about the way this was done, but the item that was shipped to me was dirty and clearly worn by another person. It's unsanitary. They should have shipped me the new item without me having to re-buy it, and I would return the dirty one I received. The reason for my return / exchange was because of THIER product and lack of quality control. I won't be purchasing online from here again. Don't really come to this aritzia often, I usually go to the one in PC and actually quite like the people in that one. Today I came here and this blonde bob haircut girl asked me if I wanted her to put away the stuff I was holding to the fitting room, I said no it's fine, she then continue to insist that I will need to try it on eventually, and I said no again, then she just pretty much turned away and left. Totally wtf... Don't know why the persistence on putting the clothes I was holding in the fitting room and gave me attitude when I said no? I guess I'll just continue to go to PC location UPDATE: So I think I know why they're so persistent with helping whenever you're holding something. I overhead an interesting conversation the other day. Fine, eavesdropped. Regardless, it prompted this post. Two girls - one absolutely fashion forward (the Bumbys would love her) and one not so much. But both obviously employed and not afraid to spend (Botkier shoulder bag + Frye boots; Longchamps tote + Hunters). They were engaged in a very intense conversation about their mutual "hatred" for Aritzia as they sipped their Starbucks. Now, that's a strong word. And they said it with such conviction. I only caught the back-end of their tirade, but wondered... How can you "hate" a clothing store? Retail is really just a resource. We, the consumers, are given a place to go and seek out items that appeal to us. It's our choice. The very nature of a clothing store is to be stocked with items you naturally gravitate towards, those you aspire to pull off, pieces you could grow to love, those you wouldn't bother to wear and a few pieces you probably wouldn't be caught dead in. That is how it works. That's why you can't hate it. So I followed them another block - it wasn't like it was out of my way, I was going that direction anyway. And I'm glad I did, because what they really meant was they have a deep seated dislike for the staff. The people are why they "hate" the store. The people are why they shop elsewhere. Ohhhhh, gotcha. I completely agree. Not "hate", just avoid whenever possible. Let me put this out there so you know it's not across the board. I love the Aritzia on Bloor Street in downtown Toronto. It's housed by some of the best the customer service industry has to offer. There are a few girls there who really, really make me want to shop. They're fashionable, they're professional, and they have a solid understanding of what they're doing and love they're job (and if they don't, they sure as hell know how to fake it without an ounce of insincerity). The ladies of Robson Street in downtown Vancouver should take notes. About 98% of my encounters at this Aritzia have been negative. I always leave wound up and aggressive because these girls activate my fight-flight reflex. They lack professionalism, they don't understand the nature of their job, they don't respect the laws of fashion, and they really shouldn't be working in retail. While I'm a big believer in top down for company success, bottom up is crucial for anything consumer related. Always stand at ground zero and see if your customers are happy. The general consensus is that most people don't walk away from this Aritzia happy. They're lucky most of their clothes sell themselves. I would love to lend my experience in qualifying talent and managing retail to filter their staff free of charge. Imagine what they could do if HR set itself to improving their human capital. Oh Artizia...Artizia...I used to love you but my love for you extinguished tiny bit today by your poor service. I agree. I think their quality has gone down and the prices gone up in the last few years. But then, who hasn't? But I do hate it when I buy a sweater and it gets holes in it after few months of wear. I love the style of clothes they carry. They are "it" items that look very chic and stylish. I love browsing in the store whenever I can and I have spent lot of money there on stuff. Now on to the service. I think most of the people working there are pretentious and aren't really into helping customers out. Today for example, I was waiting by the dressing room because I was waiting for my sister. A sales associate comes over to me and asks if I am waiting in line and I say no and she's like "can you move over?" Whoa! I always tell myself that I'm not going to shop here, but I always somehow end up here! It can get a little crazy in here as many shops that cater to a younger female crowd can, but I find the staff to be pretty patient and helpful. Most of the quality is pretty good, and they have a lot of classic styles as well as the trend of the day type stuff. I don't know what it is, but a lot of the stuff there just fits me really well. Okay... I'm a bit Aritzia obsessed. They make so much damn money off me. I swear, I'm getting to the point where I work to pay for my addiction. I just love the Wilfred and T. Babaton collections. Soft, flattering, and current - they're perfect for work and casual wear. My favourites are the silk blended items. Yes, It can be pretty pricey but I often wait until it goes on sale unless it's something I've looked at billions of times and just can't bear to be without it anymore. Yes, the fit is for the smaller sized woman but this is another reason why I shop here. The fit of the clothing just works for me and I'm petite so it can be hard to find jackets and blazers that sit right on my shoulders. As a visitor to Vancouver during the Olympics I discovered this store while on a mission for my mom...she wanted mittens like she saw all the Canadian fans (& others) wearing during the Olympics. Well, the official ones (allegedly) 'The Bay' used to have are all sold out, bummer. Not really as I stumbled across this store on Robson St. and saw the official 'Vancouver 2010' sign in their window. Ponder for a moment. On impulse I stopped in and voila... In case anyone is wondering....they have mittens and they are actually better than the ones sold at the place which we will not name. I also like the really distinct and interesting sweatshirts, t shirts, & hats they displayed. They had vintage Olympic t-shirts...cool. I think this stores' offerings for 'Vancouver 2010' had more flare and style than...well you know who! They also sell regular merchandise so this is not just a pop up Olympic store only...appears they should be around for awhile if my vote counts. Yay Artizia...ehh? First off, everyone and I mean EVERYONE in Vancouver wears Aritzia so being from out of town this worked perfectly to update my wardrobe and deviate from the BR and Jcrew standard. - The store on Robson was huge, multiple rooms of clothes mostly ranging from casual to work appropriate and going out wear. - The winter time meant sweaters and long sleeve shirts and monochromatic tones leaning more toward the dark shades. - Attentive service up to the point of sale. The person helping me forgot to remove the sensor tag from the coat so I had to walk back from Lululemon and beeped in every store. - Things can seem overpriced depending on the item, definitely on the pricier side overall so be forewarned. read more

But be careful because the gift card doesn't have any safety. someone stolen my amount which was $325.18 so easily and Aritzia customer care are not answering or helping me with these problems. I report what happened to police. They are so useless. make sure they don't give you gift card if you shopping from them. I talked with customer assistant over 5 times and each time they wanted me to explain everything for them. So disorganize. I talked with manager, she was so useless also. They don't care about your money and they do not give you any information about how, where and when the purchuses from your gift card happened.
