Over the time I have been coming to Whistler I have bought several things here, both casual (a t-shirt, a dress) and technical (a couple wool mid layers). They also sell skis and ski/board related luggage and shoes. Most of the stock is discounted, but not all of it. Right now they have shorts by Billabong that seem to be regular price or close too it. They seem to have more casual clothes in summer than in winter. It's definitely worth a look if you are near the Blackcomb base.

They also rent cross country skis. The service here is good. I bought a pair of Arc'teryx mittens here once after a wrist brace failure meant buying a pair of mitts I had, but had left at back in the flatlands. The wrist strap failed after a few days. I went back and asked if I could get a new strap. The guy at the store called about the warranty, but Arc'teryx does not ship the strap separately. He fused the strap for me himself in the store, and it was ready when I returned at the end of the day. Another time I came in asking about pit zips in jackets and the man I spoke with was very honest about the breathability of the jacket. Surprises in the breathability of rainwear rarely lead to a pleasant day in the rain, so I really appreciated that. I just got a pair of trail runners here at their fall shoe sale. They were a pretty good deal and the lady warned me they were "final sale" more than once. The seem want you to be happy with your purchase here, which is really nice. I recommend this store. If they don't have what you are looking for the same person also owns the large Arc'teryx store nearby.

I think it is 10 days and I really prefer a 30 day return window, just for piece of mind. They are pretty friendly to me here, and some of the staff can be VERY persuasive. I have been trying to stay out of the store since I bought a coat and a jacket last year. They were reasonable, but I really didn't need a jacket. It was my own fault. My weaknesses include: jackets, handbags, dresses, and shoes. All leftover from my days in retail, I'm afraid. I can generally make this work in almost any price range, and lately, I prefer to spend less than I did on that jacket. The jacket is cute, but a little "too stylish" (as in next year it may be totally passé). In any case, I did go back in and buy some leggings. They were pretty reasonable priced (for Whistler) , they would definitely get me though a vacation. I wonder if I wore them regularly to a gym or running if they would pill, as they have a softer feel than what I normally buy. I wanted blue though, and had been looking at home without finding anything. I guess I will find out. They are very comfortable though. I would say the sizes are pretty much "juniors fit" here. I am a smaller pants size and wear an extra small in their leggings. I am a bit bigger on top and I bought a medium in a jacket. I hate tight outerwear though, so maybe it was more a personal preference. I cannot comment on larger sizes, but my thinking is that if you do not wear juniors size clothes, they are probably not going to have very much for you in this store. They do seem to be marketing to "20 somethings", but they have never been rude to me, as a couple of reviewers mentioned. They were a bit surprised that I was buying a coat for my mom, but she is very small and she likes stylish outerwear. Every year someone buys her a new coat because she really likes stylish coats. I was very happy it fit her, due to the return policy. If it hadn't I would have been really out of luck.

Erin ("The Control Room") is an exceptional bootfitter. I came in assuming I might need new boots…read morebecause I was getting significant toe numbness and foot pain after a couple hours of skiing. Instead of immediately pushing a new boot, Erin did a very thoughtful assessment and quickly diagnosed what was actually going on. He identified toe compression, a lack of contact along part of my instep, and nerve pressure along the inside of my foot. The boot itself (a Lange low-volume shell) was actually the right boot ... it just needed the right modifications. He performed punch-outs to give my toes more room, modified the liner to increase toe box volume, built a custom footbed, and added an elastic power strap to improve how I engage the front of the boot. What really stood out was how clearly he explained the mechanics of what was happening inside the boot and why each adjustment mattered for skiing performance. After the work, the difference on snow was immediate: my boots felt dramatically better and I could finally pressure the front of the ski without pain or numbness. Erin combines deep technical expertise with a genuine desire to get the fit right. I would recommend him without hesitation to any serious skier.

I was able to prearrange with Black Tie to meet me at the lodge at 7:00 pm and they brought me choices based on my specifics and a follow-up phone call they initiated to confirm my skiing ability. After my first day of skiing I exchanged my skis to better fit the snow conditions and to make it easier for me and was so glad I did. Black Tie had all of my metrics on file and just fit the bindings to my boots. Returning was hassle free - they even offered to pick up at my hotel but since they were so conveniently located by my lodge I just dropped them off on the last day. This was my second time using their service and it won't be the last. Thank you!
