The gal who bought the cake told me about the horrible customer service she received. The cake was suppose to be picked up today and no one was answering their phones. After several calls later, the arrangement for pick up was finally made. This is certainly not something I like to hear about cakes places. Now let me get into the actual cake itself. I will say that the outside looked really well done, but once it was cut into, it was an absolute disaster. The cake was super dry and very crumbly. The fondant was chewy and we could hardly cut into the damn cake. The attempt to try to cut the cake into slices completely failed because there was nothing holding the actual cake together. Summary: Got the order date wrong, made a completely different cake than what we wanted, cake fell apart during the wedding, dodged calls afterwards. Completely unprofessional and unreliable company It all started with the tasting. We tasted 4 cupcakes with this company and Tish did not even know which flavor the cupcakes were. She only knew 3 of the 4 and guessed on the 4th. The cupcakes tasted good so we went with it. We told her we wanted a white cake and sent her a picture of what we wanted. I think there may have been some confusion when she asked what our wedding colors were. Regardless we ended with a pink cake that looked absolutely ridiculous and stupid. Two days before our wedding we received an email saying that our cake was about to be delivered. Luckily we responded and told them the wedding was two days later. So this means that they 100% built and put together the cake two days before the wedding, which explains why it was falling apart during the wedding. Luckily the catering company that we hired took action and took the layers off of the cake. The flowers that Tish made on the cake looked like they were falling apart. Might be because the cake was made two days before it was supposed to be finished, or just because this place has terrible quality. Not sure. I wanted to give the company a chance to explain what happened before writing bad reviews, however after dodging several of my emails and calls, I decided not to wait. i found this company on Groupon which I normally have more success with. I thought it would be great for my wedding. I purchased the Groupon and when I contacted the business. They said that they are not accepting Groupons until December. I purchased my Groupon in June and the Groupon expires in 90 days. I am not sure why they are adverting discounts they are not offering. I tried calling the them but they didnt not answer, they only respond to text message. I am now in the process of disputing my credit card change and talking with Groupon too. I do hope that this does help any new customer to be aware of the customer service and quality of what RitzyCakes/ ArizonaBirthdayCakes really offers (This is the same company)... We ordered a simple three tier cake with sugar flowers for our WEDDING... I did call before I bought the Groupon and they said they couldn't take that offer from Groupon but will give me a deal. So I talked about what I wanted and they keep adding to the price for flowers, cake tasting and to get it delivered. After I paid way too much, I scheduled our cake tasting in advance and with short notice they cancelled my appointment since they "double booked themselves." That was understandable but when we finally had our appointment Tish did not have any of the pictures I have sent to her assistant or our file about what we have bought. Luckily I had pictures I brought that I give to her to explain what we wanted. When the cake tasting was over I felt that she had understood everything I wanted for my cake. As a very organized bride to be, I did follow up about what we discussed and did not hear back from them in a MONTH. I sent 2 emails, called and nothing. So finally I got ahold of them and this is when everything went downhill. AFTER 32 EMAILS and multiple phone calls she still could not understand that I wanted!!! ONE MONTH before the wedding, I was so stressed out. Then she sent me an email the day of the wedding and the cake looked nothing that I wanted!!! Leiticia asked for payment, I said was this a deposit or payment in full? She said full because it's under $500. Was excited! The one thing she did say she couldn't do was smooth the frosting but rather could do a stucco style. That was the least of my worries all I cared about was that the cake tasted amazing. I found Arizona Birthday Cakes via Group On and thought it would be a great addition to have a cupcake tower at my sister in law's bridal shower. The communication with them via email was fine, I received quick responses but was disappointed to know I wasn't eligible to use the group on but they would give me a discounted rate. I really wanted a cupcake tower and really couldn't afford to pay more (as their discounted rate was still more than the groupon) and they generously offered to rent me the tower for free as long as I returned it. Of course I said, and I was thrilled! As the date got closer I emailed several times asking when I was to come and pick up the cupcakes and after 3 emails finally received a response. I was scheduled to pick them up at 1pm the day of the event. Around 12 or so I got an email with pictures of my cupcakes (which weren't really what I had asked for, but they still looked pretty cute) saying we needed to call upon our arrival. I replied with not a problem and wanted to confirm that I would be receiving my cupcake tower. I get an immediate email back asking what tower as they don't have one for me. After a bit of back and forth I learn that the woman who promised me the tower "wasn't supposed to do that" and that the only one they have is locked up and she doesn't have access to it. Her first suggestion was to refund my money and to keep the cupcakes. How does that help me? I needed the cupcakes for my party that evening! Then, to make up for it, she offered to give me a piece of Styrofoam to put under my table cloth so the cupcakes would be elevated. I went with that option as I was really desperate. The styrofoam was filthy and sticky and gross. it was covered in a cloth and had pins all through it. Definitely had been used before. When I got the cakes they looked meh, and tasted okay, hence my two star rating. I would not use them again nor would I recommend them to anyone I liked. I so wished I would have read all of these reviews prior to calling them and ordering 4 dozen cupcakes with a cupcake tier for my 40th birthday. This business should be shut down. I ordered my cupcakes (also with a discount directly through them for 50% off) since I could not use the groupon for the event. After chatting on the phone, I received an email stating "I have you down for four dozen cupcakes, half triple chocolate fudge, half strawberry sensation, for October 3. We're doing red and white hombre roses for the top and using black and white tins." I was also told she would email me a picture the day before for review and arrange pick up time. There was no emailed picture sent the day before or pick up arrangements, so I called them the morning of my party and she said she could meet me at 1:30 at a place about 10 miles from my house. My husband went to grab them, he told her he was at the pick up location and she said, "oh, I am not there anymore I am headed out to Apache Junction", about another 20 miles further out. After he refused to now drive to another location, she agreed to pull over so he could catch up with her to get them about 5 miles out from the original pickup location. I got one flavor of chocolate cake with a swirl of red/white icing buttercream on top. No flowers, no triple chocolate or strawberry sensation, no black and white tins. They looked like the cupcakes from the grocery store and tasted the same way. And to top it off, when my husband went to get them, she gave him no cupcake tier as promised. We were met outside the "showroom" on a Sunday by "Amber", a delivery person. She sped into the lot in a low sports car with the cake in the passenger seat. We were handed a cake that was unprofessionally packaged. Wrapped in plastic wrap touching the icing, the cake was tilting to one side. We were in a hurry to get other things done so we left with the cake. Took off the wrap and discovered the cake was not well decorated as you could see bald spots between the rosettes that were to be covering the cake. I immediately emailed the owner who was rapid fire in responding after hours when we ordered by didn't respond for a day when we had a problem. Later, when we cut the cake, we discovered the cake was not sugar-free chocolate as we ordered. Was a vanilla cake and undetermined to be sugar-free. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!! DISASTER!!!!!! It baffles me that this company is still in business. They are unprofessional and unreasonable. The cake they made for my friend's wedding looked nothing like the picture she gave them. The white fondant was lumpy and it was covered in purple and silver smudges and fingerprints. The top tier of the cake looked like it fell off in transit and the rest of the cake looked like someone held it on their lap on the way to the venue. Luckily, by the time most of the guests arrived, the deformed tier was removed and hopefully thrown away considering it was fake! After tasting the cake I was convinced that the wrong tier was removed because this cake tasted like Styrofoam. It was so dry and gross that most of the cake ended up in the trash because no one was able to get past one horrific bite. First of all the cake doesn't look anything like what I ordered AT ALL. I have written confirmation of the cake I ordered and the one I got was NOTHING like that. The results of two email complaints is absolutely nothing. They will not reply. They switched the pick up location 45 mins before pick up to someone's house. They communicated this by email -not phone. This is in NO way a reputable business and this is just the beginning of my bad reviews for them. I've also submitted by complait to the BBB. I also plan to compalin to GroupOn. Not only is GroupOn advertising for and thereby vouching for a horrible business but the business also did not follow any pricing rules. Just purchased a Groupon as a gift for family she ignores phone calls then charges different rates. Groupon was mentioned and what she originally quoted went from 150 for everything to almost 350 even though the groupon cost me 150 dollars. She is working out of her home not a office doesn't return calls and has a F rating the BSB. Groupon has complaints and so does yelp. Why does groupon continue to let her use there sight to scam people. I am going to try and get my money back but am afraid i am out 150 even though groupon should have done a better job at protecting customers. I had to send a family member to pick them up on the day of the party and was unaware that they do not actually have a store until that day. My brother-in-law went to their business address and someone drove up and handed them the cupcakes from their car. When he brought them home I was completely shocked at what I saw. I ordered cupcakes with bright colored flowers on them. What I received were various size cupcakes with a glob of colored frosting on them. They looked ugly and tasted terrible too. We went to the "showroom" and waited in the parking lot where we were met by a "delivery person" who handed us a cake out of her passenger seat of her sports car. The cake came on a small round platter and was wrapped in plastic wrap that was touching the icing! Looked like they were shipping it FexEd. When we got it home we carefully removed the plastic and discovered we had order the Leaning Tower of Pisa cake, it listed to one side. The decorative flowerets were to have covered the entire cake. You can see from the photos I posted two years ago that there are huge gaps in the decoration. You can also see that the cake is NOT CHOCOLATE which I have confirmed in emails that it was to be a sugar free CHOCOLATE cake with sugar free icing. The icing was like pure lard. And chocolate cake with espresso frosting is one of my faves. Because my order was wrong the first time I ordered from the company, I was given a credit. I actually used the credit, just kept my expectations very low, and same story. They sent an email several days before I scheduled to pick my cake up and said my cake was ready and tried to confirm i was picking up the cake the following day. I just thought to myself, are these people kidding me? How are they still in business. I had like 10 emails confirming the date of my event and when I needed the cake. So, needless to say, i wasn't expecting much. Good thing. I ordered a pink hombrè cake and my dad picked up a navy and white cake. it's comical. It's my fault I didn't warn my dad about what he should have been picking up though. Annnnd, the cake was supposed to be their Strawberry Sensation flavor.... there were literally 10 very thin strawberry slivers throughout this cake that was big enough to feed 20. JUST DONT DO IT.
