The team at Heidi's Events & Catering did an amazing job for our wedding. Not only were the appetizers and dinner delicious, but the staff were excellent. They took such great care of our guests as well as us -- and designated one staff member to ensure that we were all set with water and appetizers throughout the entire post-ceremony time period before dinner. We went with an ice cream sundae bar for dessert instead of cake, and we would highly recommend. The presentation was amazing and clearly everything was homemade. The toppings provided made it a real hit at our wedding. The desserts and quality of staff is where Heidi's really hit it out of the park. Highly recommend!! read more

Heidi's did such an amazing job at our wedding back in December. Jillian and her team were so easy to work with from start to finish. The tastings were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It was an easy pick early on because they nailed every dish at our tasting.. and they were also able to accommodate to an Asian-inspired menu that we were looking for. Our guests loved the food.. the sea bass seemed to be a star, just like we knew it would. I have some phenomenal cooks in my family, so I knew it was a homerun when they were telling me how great the fish was. Another highlight was Angie - one of the staff that was designated to taking care of us on wedding night. Always there to get us a refresh on our drinks, making sure we had hors d'oeuvres set aside, and packing to-go food for us.. an absolute rock star! Thanks again to the Heidi's team! For reference, we have 152 total guests and did butler passed hors d'oeuvres and a plated dinner. If you're like me and you're worried about a large headcount getting the right cook on proteins, don't fret. Sea bass cooked to perfection and the beef cooked to the most beautiful medium rare - as it should be! And they also did an amazing vegetarian stir-fry. Of all the caterers we tried in AZ (and we tried all the best) they're the only ones that nailed the vegetarian dish. You'd be stupid not to at least book a tasting! read more

Leading up to the event things were great. Marissa was our primary point of contact and was very quick to respond to all emails and helped set everything up smoothly. However, I am giving them 3 stars for what felt like a bait and switch on the All American BBQ buffet we ordered (menu attached) in which they substituted pulled pork sandwiches for hot dogs. This is a drastic decrease in both the cost of meat received as well as the difficulty of the task. We could have easily done hamburgers and hot dogs for much less money but we wanted the pulled pork. Now I will admit that hot dogs were listed on the contract (one of the very small line items that was easy to overlook) but to have that be the only mention of change when pulled pork is the highlighted item on the BBQ menu (see pic below). UPDATE: The sales manager Jillian and I spoke and figured out the issues. They were very apologetic and their menus have since been updated to prevent this from happening to future customers. At the Rockin Taco Street Festival...very unfortunate for Heidi's to get this poor review, but after showing the manager what was promised she states there was nothing she can do... she was very nice, but stated that they shouldn't have to pay for the HUGE screw up by the event planners.... and I rebutted with I shouldn't have to pay for something and not get what was promised.... The event planner Sylvia also tried to tell me that Onions, cilantro, palmagranite seeds, are "sides" where there email clearly states these are appetizers... she (Sylvia) also looked me in the face and said "yep we are screwing you, no refunds".... completely unacceptable!! We even said we are happy to pay for our drinks and some tacos, but refund a portion of our fee for not honora by what you promised.... By the way, the "steak" tacos are roast beef, not steak, but still decent.... Very nice of the lady from Heidi's to come by and apologize, but she still could have made a phone call to have a couple trays of the other items promised sent out... but she was very nice!!! #Rockintacostreetfestivalsucks 2nd UPDATE: Thanks for the clarification Heidi. I did clearly state in my review that your team did not contribute to the mishaps. The rating "ok" is exactly how I would describe my feelings after working with Heidis's Events and Catering for over a year and a half. First and foremost, I want to clarify that my review of this business is purely coming from a place of wanting to give an honest and open review of my experience because I wished that I had, had this information before making the decision to hire this vendor. I spent hours researching all my vendors and hoped that I was making the best-informed decisions at the time. My husband and I knew from day one we wanted to serve pizza as our main dish for our wedding. Due to our wedding venue's limitations, we had to choose a vendor from their preferred list. To be honest, Heidis was the only vendor that served pizza. But based on the reviews it appeared as though it would be a good choice. The first initial consultation over the phone with their head coordinator was fantastic, Sammy was real, honest and so willing to make our unique food dreams come true. Because of COVID, we had never had a tasting with Heidis before booking but based on reviews we were willing to take the chance. Come 2021, we finally got to go to a group tasting and the food was delicious! Shortly after, I met with the head coordinator to discuss layouts, dishes etc.. and that meeting was so helpful and probably the easiest part of that week! Due to COVID, our guest count was 50% less than what we originally planned. With that in mind, the coordinator presented to us a total bill of almost the same amount as our original bill but with less food more staff. My husband and I do not have any knowledge of catering or staffing a dinner so we trusted the expert that if she said we needed additional staff then we did. However, looking back on it, that additional staff were not necessary and it felt as though Heidis wanted to keep our original bill amount the same as before so they just added more staff. Additionally, three days before our wedding, I received an email from Sammy with a breakdown of how much "we should be tipping". This seemed odd to me, my husband, and our married friends. Contacting the bride three days before her wedding about gratuity when the job has not even been done and on top of that the gratuity was based on our total bill, not just the wait staff. And after doing some deeper review of our contract, even the lowest-paid servers from Heidi's crew, and without a tip, make $35/hr. So my groom and I put that concern aside to enjoy our wedding day and would be making a clearer decision on tipping after the wedding was over and the job was done. Day of our wedding, the food was set up beautifully, on time and everything we had discussed was there. However, the pesto chicken we had, had at the tasting was different and my guests did remark that some of the pizza was cold, however; overall the food was well done. Less than 24 hours after we wed, we were on a flight out of the country for our honeymoon and I received another email from Heidi's regarding the "missing tip". So here is my takeaway from my experience with Heidi's catering based on my experience alone. The food is decent, and the service is great. However, the feeling we got that this company was hoping you don't pay too close of attention to the details does not feel ethically or morally right. read more

I honestly don't know if a better catering company and I've worked with many. Heidi's catered the Celebration of Life for my father at our home with 75 guests. My Mom was very pleased and so were the guests. The food was amazing. Everyone raved. The presentation was terrific. The staff were phenomenal. We couldn't have asked for anything more. They were incredibly flexible too as we were earlier than expected from the cemetery. The never missed a beat. I couldn't be more impressed. For all the Brides out there stressing about being lied to, or shady people in the wedding industry during a planning process for one of the BEST times of your life- I assure you, that you need to steer VERY CLEAR from this place. I had contacted HEC 10 months before my wedding and did not want to commit to anything because of how far out it was, and because I still felt I might be able to find a Caterer who could provide my Fiancé and I with a gluten free dinner for our wedding night. Sami Carroccio was my point of contact through the financial, and tasting process of our planning. She called a few times and I shared with her my reserves about paying a deposit without tasting their food and it being nonrefundable, just like EVERYBODY ELSE in the industry. I found it very odd that they asked for a deposit before the tasting, but Sami was so confident in their catering and assured me that she understood my reservations and that if we did not like the food (but that has never happened before according to her, again, with the confidence) that my deposit would be refunded. I was relieved of stress and thought wow, these people truly care about their clients. I love it when businesses truly do care about the people who are purchasing their services. WRONG. It was most definitely a way to get me to pay the deposit- so don't be naive like me- just stay away from here. After the tasting my Fiancé and I were not sold on the food, because there was not many gluten free options which we both needed( Gluten free options I would rate 3 out of 5 stars), Sami let us know that she would be on maternity leave starting the following day, until February and that we had so much time to think about if we liked the food or what we wanted on our wedding day. SO I reach out in February and thanked her for her time, but that it wasn't going to be a fit for our DIETARY NEEDS and she then said they could try harder, she would talk to the chef, I declined the offer, and Sami then did not reply to me. I reached out again 15 days later, to then get a response within 5 minutes telling me I was in no way getting my deposit back. I know many are thinking "why did you wait so long to reach out?" She was on maternity leave and I was tying to be respectful of that- which came back and backfired on me. Brides, you don't want to work with shady people who have no integrity. I feel that my deposit was never refundable, even though I was told it was. Steer clear of Heidi's Events and Catering, especially if you have a special dietary need because it probably isn't going to be met. read more

I used Heidi's events and catering for my reception 14 years ago and they were fanatic, but this review was for my 40th birthday party. We had a retro wedding. Costumes from the 50's 60's and 70's. The food mini meatloaf sandwiches with a mashed potato bar served in Martini glasses (very 50's) . A chocolate fondue (very 70's) that was dark, milk and white chocolate with all the sweet and savory stuff for dipping; pretzels, marshmallows, lady fingers, strawberries and more. Petit fours (very 60's) that I think I was on a sugar high for 3 days after. The guests LOVED the chocolate fondue. The event went off without at hitch. Food - Exceptional! Met my budget and vision. Staffing -Excellent! Professionally dressed, early arrival, served and cleared plates and helped with the clean up. Tables and Linens - Excellent! Heidi's was a dream to work with. We sat with another vendor for "tasting" and it was nearly bad compared to ANYTHING that you'll get from Heidi's. The choices are crazy expansive. The servers that show up for your event are top notch. The food was CRAZY good. Our guests were certainly impressed! As the bride, I didn't get to eat much of the food, but we did get what little leftovers there were packaged up and handed to us before we left - which came in handy when we were starving at 2 am that night after all the after party was done. If I were ever going to host another event where I needed a caterer . . . I would definitely call Heidi's. Heidi's catered our wedding last week at Bella Rose Estate and they were amazing! We were very impressed with Jillian, the coordinator, from the first meeting and all the way through to the final planning meeting. She was warm and knowledgeable and helped guide us through the planning process. We had a big wedding (190) but the team worked well to get everyone fed on the day of and we had plenty of food! And the food was AMAZING! We had so many compliments on the dinner! We had a buffet style with the spiced pork shoulder and the fish cakes. All the other companies had voice mail or "online request forms" but never answered or got back to me. I called Heidi's and immediately got a hold of Marissa. Within an hour I had the entire event planned. I was able to customize everything - table arrangements, food choices -- the entire celebration. Chef Charlie produced an amazing pancake bar, Jake served a perfect Bloody Mary and Mimosa. My family raved about the event. I've used Heidi's Events and Catering for a few large corporate catering events this year and everything has been exceptional. The food, the flavor, the presentation and the staff that stays on site to help replenish the trays, provide clean up and ensure great service. Last week we held an event for 130 physician leaders. We received tons of compliments regarding the food, flavor and presentation for both breakfast and lunch. The lunch salmon salad was a big hit and the first thing to go. The custom cakes were beautiful and tasted wonderful. And, most importantly, the 2 gentlemen sent to staff the event were so very pleasant and helpful. I am so glad to have a great vendor that I can fully trust knowing that everything will be perfect based on her experience, knowledge and staff. Heidi's was apart of an inclusive package with our wedding venue. We were given menu options via an electronic pamphlet for a plated or buffet dinner. There was also a tasting included in our package, so my husband and I were able to spend an afternoon at their storefront and enjoy some of their menu options. In our package we received 3 hand passed appetizers, and a salad, two entrees, and two sides for our dinner buffet. There were options to upgrade certain areas (we added a fruit and cheese display for cocktail hour). We also chose to do our desserts through Heidi's. We had an assortment of desserts like lemon bars, cookies and milk, chocolate covered strawberries, etc. We also had pans of cobbler and ice cream. The food was OUTSTANDING. Both my husband and I, as well as our guests could not stop talking about how great everything was. The service was also very good. Meagan, our event coordinator, was very responsive to emails and always suggested hopping on a quick phone call to work out any details and questions we had. We had a finalization meeting about 2 weeks prior to the event where we reviewed all of the selections and details. The day of staff was also incredible! The servers were extremely attentive to my husband and I and had appetizers and water ready for us as we were signing our marriage license and taking photos. They even made us our own plates as we did our grand entrance so we could begin eating right away and get started on our mingling quicker. I am giving one star because there is no ZERO. My 2 daughters (the Bride & Maid of Honor), myself and the mother of the groom, attended The Arizona Bridal Show on Sunday. To save time each of us would sign up at various booths for the Bride. When we got to Heidi's Event & Catering area, there were several people blocking the way through the aisle. The maid of honor happened to step behind Heidi, (not realizing she had "overstepped"), and she began filling out what all of us assumed was another raffle questionnaire, as these were in each event booth. Heidi became indignant and sniped at my daughter that this was "by appointment only" and we would have to discuss food and finance to even decide if "WE" would be a "good fit" for her. I'm sorry, my daughter's wedding is NOT ABOUT HER or us fitting in with "her". Heidi carried on in an extremely rude and negative manner as my daughters made an appointment (to my dismay). I stepped aside with the mother of the Groom, and asked her, "was it me?, or did this woman have a nasty attitude?" She agreed that Heidi was out of line. It took everything I had not to go back to that booth and read her off in front of everyone. It bothered me all night and I finally called Heidi's today and spoke to the woman who's business card Heidi had been handing out at the Bridal Show. Jillian. I'm sure most people at the event thought they were speaking to Jillian. How unfortunate for her. I called HEC today and reached Jillian & explained to her exactly what had happened , (she couldn't believe Heidi would behave that way). I assured her The Heidi was not only initially negative, but continued on with her rudeness throughout the "appointment setting". Heidi got on the phone, but would take NO responsibility for her behavior at the event. She said she was "sorry I felt that way". Heidi then informed me she saw 3000 people that weekend. I told her perhaps that was the problem. Certainly not the prospective Client's. She knew exactly who we were though, as she said she was" taken aback that my daughter started filling out the appointment slip". Apparently that was a Big deal. Although we tasted a sample of processed burger and potato, it was not indicative of what one would want to serve at an elegant wedding. We visited many booths at the Bridal Show. We were greeted and welcomed. Needless to say, I cancelled the "appointment". Heidi's Event Catering is "not a good fit for us". I am a Catering Manager by trade and have never experienced such shameful, unprofessional, behavior by anyone in all my years in the Food & Beverage Industry. Don't bother to reply Heidi, your behavior was inexcusable. As I said to you on the phone, Shame on you. Our family is not the least bit interested in "anything" she has to offer, and after reading the reviews here, it is our collective opinion that you too, should PASS. read more

I didn't want to miss the opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the awesome job that Heidi's Events did for our celebration. Of course, I knew your crew would be great since we have used you in the past, but this was over the top! Your servers are extremely pleasant while being completely unobtrusive. They came in, got to work immediately and I didn't even know they were there. They anticipated the needs of my guests all throughout the evening. I am sorry, I did not really meet the catering manager since I had a wedding coordinator working, but she certainly made things run smoothly. My guests are still talking about the food. And you know I am choosy about the food. Personally I loved the bacon wrapped dates. The short ribs were decadently delicious - loved them! All was presented beautifully. From start to finish, working with Heidi's was a pleasure and created such a special atmosphere. Our coordinator, Jillian, was efficient, helpful and made great suggestions. I selected the Southwestern buffet and added steak & fish street tacos (a giant hit!), all presented on gorgeous copper table tops. The buffet was beautiful. Jillian suggested adding Indian corn pudding and my guests were scraping the bottom of the serving dish for more! For dessert, we offered the chocolate fondue fountain and bananas flame'. I received rave reviews all night long about the quality and yumminess of the food. Heidi's bartenders, chefs and servers were on time, professionally attired, very thoughtful, fun and made the night so special for our guests. I was especially thrilled with the clean-up. You would never guess we'd just had a party for 110 guests when their truck pulled away! Thank you to the entire team. We held a banquet in December 2012 on a Saturday for a party of about 30 people, give or take at the actual Heidi's location. Heidi worked with our budget and was extremely responsive in the beginning which we were extremely grateful for. We had a 3 course meal consisting of salad, beef bourguignon, and an assortment of desserts. Nothing tasted weird or anything when were eating it at Heidi's and the guests thought the food was good. The party went well, awards were given out, and all of us were happy that another successful formal banquet had been planned and passed without any hardship. *Cue Horror Music* Come the following Sunday and Monday, all of my friends are falling sick left and right, dropping like flies. One even passed out on the bathroom floor at 3 am and had to be sent to the ER. All of them were complaining of the same symptoms: throwing up, fevers, stomach-aches, tiredness, etc. I didn't know what was going on until we all realized that over 3/4 of the guests present at the formal banquet was sick. Our social chair contacted Heidi's and their very first response was "we're sorry to hear that YOUR party has fallen ill" but it wasn't their fault because their cooks ate the same meal as us that night and they were not sick. First of all, this wasn't just "our party" because Heidi's hosted it and fed us so they neglected to accept any responsibility at all. Secondly, while your employees may be well, it should be the customer's well-being that you are concerned about instead of just waving it off like no big deal.It's as if a guest walked over a certain part of the floor and slipped and hurt herself, but the chef had walked over the same part and was fine so it's no problem. Thirdly, Heidi's tried to point out that their staff eavesdropped on our guests planning to go somewhere afterwords so we must have contracted it at the location they went after. While what they heard was true, this lame excuse was proven false as most of our guests actually went straight home right after, including those who were most sick afterwords. After I was made social chair in January, I tried to pick up after our last Social chair who e-mailed Heidi's for a solution but after back and forth statements that none of it was their fault, they stopped e-mailing and left it at them still trying to side-step away from getting almost an entire party ill. While I understand that many others below have had great experiences with Heidi's, I only wish our guests could have received the same as well. I'm not entirely suggesting that you not contact their catering as an option for your next event because it seems like we were the first case, but I'm definitely not going to advocate for it either. P.S. Might I add that our entire party was made up of college students. Particularly, college students who have iron stomachs; stomachs that have digested food & beverage combinations unseen or unheard of. It's hard to get us sick. Just saying. read more

I'm giving this a 1 star for a few reasons. -Food is not edible. They need to really take time to add natural and fresh ingredients to their food. It tastes and looks very processed like they purchase bulk items, overcook them then serve them. They pair food that does not at all go together. I have tasted food that costs as much as they charge and I would say that this place is not worth it for people that enjoy fresh well prepared food. It might be good for some people.. I guess. The employees are very nice. We were sent a survey and responded with honest specific feedback. The owner actually decided to not take the feedback or focus on the customer experience but rather decided to blame us for waiting until the survey to provide the feedback. That was sad. I guess some people have a hard time seeing feedback as an opportunity to improve or "wow" a customer. The other bad review made us worried before we went. We thought lets give this place a chance it was probably the customers fault. After trying this place we can very much see it was not the customer.. But just a serious lack of care an passion or even business acumen on the part of the establishment. I was put in charge of planning this years annual holiday party for my company. Since event planning is one of my absolute favorite things to do, I was more than pleased. Everyone knows that the most important component for these functions is the booze and food so I had to find a catering company that would meet my foodie expectations while delivering a professional and thorough outcome. Heidi's was referred to me by a good friend, so I called them up. Drew ended up being our coordinator, and was so helpful and just plain awesome throughout the entire process. I poured out my ideas from the passed apps to the centerpieces to the ambiance I wanted to create. Not only did he deliver everything I expected, but he went above and beyond to make sure I got everything I had asked for. Upon arrival, they wasted no time setting up. The spread of appetizers they arranged was lovely, and I never remember once running out of anything. They kept it stocked up for my drunk and hungry guests. They supplied a bartender and bar.. brought all the tables, linens, centerpieces, waiters and heat lamps to keep everyone warm since it was outdoors and kinda chilly. Everything worked out seamlessly, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. Once the party was over, they had everything broken down and cleaned up within a half hour. They even took out all the trash which was unexpected. The guys that worked our party were so nice too. Drew even called the next day to make sure I was happy. I highly recommended Heidi's to anyone planning any sort of event. They are so accommodating and wonderful, I cannot wait to work with them again. read more

Heidi's catered our wedding and though I didn't get much of the food, I was told by our guests and our vendors that were able to partake that it was wonderful. The staff at the event were fantastic, very nice and professional. Drew was our coordinator and he was super sweet and made sure that everything went fluidly on the day of. He and the rest of Heidi's are all stars and I would HIGHLY recommend them for your ceremony. I will admit that we spent more on the food than I had originally planned, but food was one of the three things my new hubby insisted on, so I was okay with the extra cost because the offerings did live up to our expectations. read more

We had our wedding at the Phoenix Zoo catered by Heidi's. Wedding planning, as countless boring romantic comedies, tired sitcoms, and shitty comedians will tell you, is a daunting affair. Having someone pro-actively handle the infinite details that go into the seemingly simple task of serving dinner was a huge relief. The food at Heidi's is good - for a caterer. We tried a lot of different businesses, and I think Heidi's was somewhere in the middle of the pack - not fantastic, but really solid, and practical for large groups. They seem to have a good grasp on the idea that culinary experimentation can potentially alienate some guests - but they don't sacrifice all flavor in favor of the lowest common denominator, either. The best part about Heidi's is their method of sample meals - they host quarterly (I think) parties where you can go and sample multiple "themed" meals. Then, if you have special requests, you can go and have the food made specially for you (though we had to push a little bit, which was a little annoying). Professionals on staff were always courteous and accommodating. The service at the wedding was also very attentive. One nitpick I have there - we rented a trellis through the company for the ceremony. After the ceremony, we hung around the trellis for some pictures with our photographer - pretty standard, right? the staff workers watched us like hawks, though, giving off a pretty impatient vibe - intentionally or not. One important thing to note - Heidi's does not include estimated gratuity in their contracts. They note this in fine print - but we missed it in the mess of all the other event planning details. It would be nice to have Heidi's mention this to their customers from the get-go, since, like us, the majority of people planning their wedding are probably pretty uneducated when it comes to that sorta thing. It was a bit of last-minute sticker shock, as almost every other caterer we got estimates from included gratuity, which raises the price pretty substantially. read more

Heidi's events has everything imaginable you could ever need for any type of party, tons of table linens, food choices, decorations etc! Jillian was extremely helpful and Heidi was very accommodating! Hedis staff set up everything for our wedding (tables, chairs, food, bartender etc) which was outside and everything went perfect, no issues!! We were married in March in a barn in north Scottsdale and the wedding food was always something that made me a little nervous. From the very first day I met Heidi she said "just trust me, we can handle it." And she was right! Her team far exceeded our expectations that day! Everyone complimented the food that we served and how quickly they were able to get through the buffet line. Her staff is on point, attentive, and thorough. My sister in law is a manager of a restaurant and she was even impressed with how flawless Heidi's team managed our 200 person wedding. We used Heidis to cater a large joint baby shower at The Boojum Tree. I worked with Jillian over the phone and via email from Chicago, and she was super helpful. I had never planned anything like this before and she helped me have my ideas come to life. Day of the shower, the staff showed up on time and were extremely friendly and available (but not overbearing). And most importantly, the food was delicious! We had a lot of different small bites and everything was great, the right temperature, and they provided really great table décor that fit with our theme! I would highly recommend! read more
