Did a fine job cleaning the saltillo tile but totally botched the grout repair, so I called someone else.

I really do not like to leave bad reviews, particularly when the office staff is friendly. However, it's really about the technicians who do the repairs. The first time Grout Busters sent someone, I pointed out a small crack in the grout that was causing leaking behind the shower wall and was making itself known on the floor in the adjoining room. The tech took less than 10 minutes to repair the grout, despite my request to clean and redo the entire shower. He did not listen, insisting the problem was fixed. The wall had been ripped out previously, resulting in expensive repairs and mold remediation. Two plumbers had looked at it and verified the leaking was from the shower itself and not the plumbing. I was not anxious to repeat all these repairs, and I wanted the shower completely fixed. The Grout Busters tech insisted there would be no more issues with his quick grout repair. I called Grout Busters again about a year later. More leaking, more ruining of the adjoining drywall, and again a refusal by the newest tech to redo the entire shower. It was another 10 minute fix. I called Grout Busters a third time and this newest tech absolutely refused to listen to me. He knew best and he would seal the corner and slap some clear solution on a couple tiles. I begged. I pleaded. It was no use. Less than 8 showers later, there was leaking again. Grout Busters offered to send someone else, but at this point I can't trust them. I called a new company who came to take a look. The caulking the last guy squeezed into the corner had gaps. It is going to have to be removed. I'm disappointed to say that I can't recommend Grout Busters for even the simplest job. read more

David and Roger were easy to work with and process. They scheduled us in a reasonable amount of time and got the job done. Unfortunately, the workmanship was not up to standard. I do not live in Arizona but I called them while I was down there to see if we could meet up but they said they were not available while I was in town. Then when I asked them to go over without me (as I had no plans on returning in the near future) they refused to do so. My local handyman was able to take photos and I asked them to go out and look at it to see what could be done. They refused to go out unless I could meet them, which again I don't live there, so that is not convenient. I had already paid them for all of their work. I have a feeling if I had not paid then they probably would've looked at it. It's unfortunate that their workmanship and customer service aren't as good as their prices. read more

I'm very happy with the process of setting up estimate, getting estimate, and work. Nancy was a pleasure to coordinate with and even sent care instructions for the tile after the job was complete. I took pictures of areas before and after cleaning and color seal. The cleaning brightened up the tile and lightened up the grout. All work was done by hand with attention to detail. My technician was "Redd" and he was very professional and took pride in his work. He went over seal options once the tile was cleaned. I could have gone with clear because the grout was much cleaner but wanted a lighter and more uniform look so went with color seal. The price was very reasonable and I'd recommend AZ Grout Busters to my friends. I can't speak to how the color seal will hold up over time but will add another review after a year or so to provide an update. read more

We have lived in our tile floored house for fourteen years. The downstairs is all tile. Upstairs only the bathroom is tiled. The tile's grout looked ugly, especially the kitchen. the total tile area is 780 sq ft. The grout busters four person crew arrived on time. David arrived on time to measure shower and most of the rest of the house for tile and grout cleaning. While here he was constantly checking his phone as he received "encoded messages" even as he and I were discussing the job. IMO his phone should be left in his vehicle. No shadows, lights on, right side, before, left side after. They took their shoes off and not once walked across carpet. Very competitive pricing. The next day, I discovered my request to not clean the tile in the pantry was a bad call. I asked them what they used to clean the floor, so I could do it. They sent a man the next day to do it. I set up an appointment with the estimator. He responded in a timely manner and spent almost one hour and half with me measuring and accessing the job. My wife and I were provide with a quote of $459.00 dollars with explanation of services for less then 500 square feet. Both were very reasonable and proceeded to schedule a date for services to be completed. After clearing the rooms of furniture, the employees arrived to begin the job. I greeted the contact person at the door, who identified himself as Grout Busters. He never introduced himself and proceeded to walk into my living and kitchen area. He stated the job was more labor intensive thus raising the price to $2000,00. He indicated the grout was dirty and would require stripping and scrubbing. He also referred to some of the Saltillo tile being worn and may not have the desired look. I called the company, leaving a message to speak the owner or management. I received a return call from the estimator, regarding the job estimate. Same indicated he relied on his employee to make the call regarding the up sale or to proceed with original job. The discussion of why he did not inform us of the possibility of the up sale to which he replied, he always informs customers of the possibility of requiring more services to obtain the desired job. He also stated he would have provided me with an example of the required cleaning of the grout if I had asked him. My reply was I as a client am relying on his expertise to make that call. We are putting our house up for sale and needed the travertine tile cleaned and sealed. My husband called grout busters for a price and when I heard they clean it on their hands and knees I could not believe it , we have over 1000sq. feet. My husband liked the price, I looked them up on line and finally agreed. Well five guys showed up and on their hands and knees they cleaned the whole floor, then they sealed it. They crawled out the front door so not to leave any footprints. Well the next day it was streaky so I called the office and the office gal said don't worry they will be out on Tuesday, well back they came and resealed the whole floor again. They are wonderful guys and recommend them highly, they also repaired a few tiles beautifully like new. I can't say enough about their work and how delighted we are, in fact I want them back to clean the tile in my new house as soon as we sell the old house.
