I did so again a couple days later...and again never heard back. I called a third time, and learned that the first two people hadn't even recorded the message - there was no record of it in my chart or anywhere else! Additionally, I am bombarded with advertisement emails, which you cannot unsubscribe from, because it would also unsubscribe you from appointment reminder emails. This feels like a very predatory practice for a doctor's office, especially one primarily aimed at an older audience. It feels incredibly money-grubby. Dr. Johns is incredibly helpful, but I cannot recommend the practice due to the administrative staff, who are sometimes unhelpful to the point of being actively counterproductive. They really worked with my schedule and time table. Dr. Glassman was great as far as the surgery went. I will say that if you are sensitive to substances, have a sensitive digestive system, and are prone to anxiety, do not take the narcotic pain medication, Xartemis, or the NSAID, Toradol/Ketorolac. After 36 hours of hell post-op, I quit taking them both. Once it cleared my system, I was then able to hold up my head without getting vertigo and motion sickness AND hold down water and eventually food. The psychedelic nightmares I was having stopped immediately, too. Instead, I took ibuprofen every 4-6 hours and was able to function well enough without nasty prescriptions. Yuck. Those Rx's were worse than the surgery/anesthesia itself!

They make you put in your credit card as a backup in case your insurance doesn't go through. I made sure it was accepted and even asked the day of my shot if everything was good and she said yes. They saw me at my scheduled time, but I was also the last appointment, which was probably in my favor. Although the lady was nice who was giving me the shot, she lacked knowledge about the shot and I felt like I was educating her. It was odd! A week later, our credit card was billed for $295!!! I was livid! Trying to call the billing department is nearly impossible! I waited a few times on hold trying to get through on 8/16. The first time was 20 minutes and they gave an option to call you back, which I accepted but no one ever called. I called back and waited another 40+ minutes before a billing department answered. I spoke to the lady in the billing department. She was over verifying my identity and then had my old mailing address still on file, so she changed it for me at that time. She told me I would need an authorization number from my insurance and that I would need to provide a valid ID number. For the record, I have Tri Care and my husband is the primary insurance holder. She told me to call back with the information when I had it. I asked if there was a direct line and she said no. I knew this was going to be an issue trying to call back. I called Tri Care and they said I didn't need an authorization number and per the CDC, I was eligible for the shot. She suggested speaking to the authorization department to see what to do next. However, that department said I needed a referral and said I would need to pay the bill. We asked to speak with the claims department again, since that was not correct information. They confirmed I didn't need an authorization per the CDC and I was eligible for the shot. They suggested giving the number on the back of my military ID to the Minute Clinic. I have never heard of that, but figured I would try it. They also gave a reference number for the Minute Clinic to call them if they needed help with the claim. I tried calling Minute Clinic and was on hold and then it said it was closed. I called back and tried to speak with someone else, but they were not in the billing department. However, they said they could help. They still had my old mailing address and it was never changed by the other lady I spoke with. So, he said he would change it. He said my insurance is eligible and I should have never been billed. So, he would send the note the accounting department and he would request a refund for me. He said it would take 5-6 billing days and to call back next Friday to find out the status. I called back on Thursday, but had no luck getting through. I have to call during working hours since they will be closed by 5:00 pm EST. However, I work too, so I tried calling twice and was on hold for over 40 minutes. I had to get back to work, so I hung up. I tried again on Friday. I decided to let the phone stay on while I continued working. I was on hold for 2 HOURS!!! Are you kidding me??? I worked while waiting for someone to answer. How can a business run this way? I finally got someone and she had to transfer me to billing, which I thought I was holding for. That took a few more minutes. Then, I got the lady I spoke with a week before. Is she the only one in the billing department? She insisted on verifying me with more than 3 questions and insisted I give my address. Guess what? They never changed my address? She expected me to remember my old mailing address from 7 years ago. I asked to be verified another way and she insisted I give my old address. I had to stop and look it up in order to proceed! That is unacceptable! She verified my email, my phone number, and DOB, but that wasn't enough for her. She was ridiculous! Then, she wanted to update my address again. I said no thanks! It won't get updated anyway. I asked her about the bill and nothing had been done. According to the lady, the information I gave the guy wasn't in the system nor was the information about what he told me on the refund and billing department. Then, she slipped up and said that's not what was in his notes. I was livid! I gave her the military ID and she finally said it was accepted by their system, but it would take another 30 days for the insurance to process it and then another 5-6 business days to get the $295 refund!!! Unacceptable!! I will NEVER EVER EVER use them again! I will get my second shot from another pharmacy before I ever go back there! The lady wanted my current address again. I asked why? You didn't put it in the first time and the guy didn't put it in the second time, so what's the point of doing it a third time? She insisted she would put it in. Our family member, several weeks ago, felt the imaging staff had no respect for her fragile body and curved spine. They knew what they needed to do, they had a long, busy, full night. The patient was a technical task needing solving. Some years ago, a doctor gave me his opinion from, as he said, "The view from 30,000 feet. " The view here from 30,000 feet is "Medical City". I do not know how many thousands of people "live" in this city from Janitors to food prep, nursing, brain surgeons and administrators. It is a complex place dealing with every aspect of human bodies, birth to preservation, and who is going to pay for these services and how. January, 2026 we learned, at a physical therapy center, the insurer of our family member withdrew Medicare Advantage coverage from them December 31, 2025. We scrambled. Elderly, on Medicare, we fell back on standard Medicare, but paid out of pocket for awhile. My heart goes out to people crushed between low pay and less than stellar medical insurance, and the medical institutions treating them, no matter the circumstances. We do not know what this hospitalization will ultimately cost our family. Care of our family member has been deep and wide. I think of thecduffering of my ancestors from falls, infections and the many diseases I get vaxed for. It is miraculous age. I see medications delivered at millionths of grams keeping a body functioning and relatively oit of pain. I am amazed. I see the teams assembled to work these medical miracles and I am amazed.

Because I no longer have accchs. They are able to bill accchs $677 for every visit, but now that I pay cash they only make $179 per visit. They forgot to send in my drug tests multiple times! I knew I'd report them to the state board and accchs months ago. I've been talking about all the sketchy shit to my mom and disabled friend for months. So I knew I was going to report them from the start. I am apart of the reason the fbi shut down a ton of sober living homes for human trafficking and double billing. I hate when people break the law and don't follow rules! I'm autistic it's hard to ignore. It's very easy to see when an accchs scam is happening and I felt it happening the second he gave me 10mg oxycodone without starting me on 5mg first. And then he kept letting my pee tests expire and not send to lab. Today the doctor says he is cutting me off pain meds because they don't feel comfortable prescribing them long term. I asked them if I broke the pain contract, they said no. I later get an email saying I'm permanently discharged because I broke The pain contract. They kicked me out of their practice because I am self pay. Discrimination. They're also not billing using correct address' and he's practicing in multiple states with multiple address. I talked to my pharmacist right away and told them everything I experienced and they told me YES this doctor is doing illegal shit. 1/26/26 they said I no longer need to do drug tests to receive my meds, that's illegal. My pharmacist is helping me with filing the report to accchs and the state board. Oh yeah he also gave me a 14 day supply of meds but wrote on the bottle it was a 7 day supply of meds. So I felt like he was trying to trick me or something. I'm not a drug addict so I use my meds properly and this little weird shit he did, did not affect me, I never took more than I was supposed to. But prescribing meds wrong on purpose is illegal as well, malpractice. I've been on prescribed controlled substances since I was 8 years old, I am well aware of how it all works. I've been permanently disabled for 12 years also. And then he tried to get me to do as many x rays as possible before my insurance cut off. He found scoliosis and then cancelled me as a patient immediately. Why would someone do that? He wouldn't even discuss my imagining he ordered. He made me pay $179 to get discharged today. So yeah I knew immediately the second he prescribed meds wrong and gave me 10mg oxycodone right away that he was crooked and I WAS FUCKING RIGHT!!!! If you ever feel weird at pain mgmt ask the pharmacist about it. They can definitely reassure you if you experienced something illegal. Other than that, while I was being prescribed oxycodone for a few months, the appointments were fast and scheduled normally. Just nothing the doctor ever did was normal. Letting my pee tests expire multiple times, writing wrong medication information. Accchs would only allow a 7 day RX and he gave me 14 days and put 7 days on the bottle, so that's called LYING. Lying about how much you're prescribing. All I see is red flags at this place.
