From the lady who answered the phone to Dr Milly all were kind, compassionate and helpful to make sure that my medical needs were met! I wish my primary care provider was half as helpful as they are! I had a nice experience here yesterday after needing treatment for a corneal abrasion. There was not much of a wait since it was a Sunday. I did my paperwork and was seen fairly quickly. I was helped by a PA who did some drops in my eye and then looked at my eye in a UV light. Sure enough I had a corneal abrasion. I was prescribed some drops and on my way. Basically, without going into all the details, the doctor or PA or whatever she was told me she couldn't help me. That's it. I'd have to go elsewhere. It took maybe 2 minutes tops to deliver that message, and fine, so I went. But of course, the billing is for $335.00 and my insurance got billed and I'm due for 109.40 after the 75.00 that I already paid. So you know, a fair provider would have just given me a break of some kind. Otherwise, I'm getting billed for having my temperature and blood pressure taken. That's it. I did not feel safe here. They left the exam room door open while I was inside. No privacy and not clean = UNSAFE. Disrespectful of your time. Even when you make an appointment and no other patients being seen, they will make you wait. I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment and still waited for nearly an hour before being seen. Toilet seat has a crack that pinches your skin if sat on. Also likely an indicator the seat is filled with terrifyingly disgusting bacteria. Lazy staff. Prescribed an antibiotic when not needed. They withhold test results. I called to let them know what occurred they told me to not come back and go somewhere else! NextCare providers were the first to refer me to an ENT specialist, which I ended up needed to manage a chronic illness. After almost 2 hours of waiting, I was told by the rude receptionist that she would be very happy to cancel my appointment. I've been to this urgent care 3 times and have never had a good experience. The last time I went was for a bug bite on my daughter foot. I spent 35 min doing paperwork and falling for the little membership scheme that seems impossible to cancel. I have tried canceling through the app, customer service doesn't answer. The last visit I paid $200 and the doctor just told me to go to the ER. I went to the ER and they asked me why the urgent care would send me here when all she needed was an antibiotic. I have used this clinic for the last 10 years without incident. All the nurses and front counter staff have been nothing less than amazing. Please do yourself a favor and do not allow the nurse Ben Seleen to see you. He is impatient, he has absolutely 0 listening skills, RUDE, condescending just a total DISASTER. I politely asked if there was a different nurse I could see on staff. He said no and basically told me to leave shooing his hand as if I were a dog!!! I told him that he was very rude and didn't care about patients. As I was asking the young lady for a number to call corporate, Ben Seleen stood in the doorway literally scrunching his face at me, perhaps even trying to intimidate me. I simply told him he could leave as him and I were done. I called 800 819 8566 (held for 52 minutes). Explained to a rep what took place. Every visit I've had at this location has been nothing but accommodating, professional, and friendly. This last may I rushed into their clinic after having very painful symptoms of either a kidney stone or infection (symptoms get incredibly painful very fast). I would have gone to the ER if this was my first kidney stone/infection due to the severity of the pain but the ER is incredibly expensive even with insurance and since I've gone through is before I knew I was going okay. I could hardly stand, they let me get into a room right away and lay down. (I was probably a little whiney which they also dealt with well) I really appreciated that because they could've very well let me suffer in the waiting room. They took great care of me, solved the problem, got me on the right medication. I felt better soon after. Health care workers go through a lot, they deal with a lot of sick patients who are upset because they don't feel good and need someone to take it out on. I know it has to be hard sometimes. Well it finally happened...I sliced the tip of my finger off while making delicious (if I do say so myself) chipotle salsa. Stupid jalapeño . Anyway...I was rushed to urgent care by my wonderful mother (along with the tip of my finger in a baggy), and they got us right in. I was in a state of shock and they immediately got to work to make me feel better. I was led right back where the Dr. was already waiting for me to diagnose the situation and let me know how they were going to treat me, and that I was going to be ok (thank God). The nurse and Dr. were extremely efficient and knew what they were doing, which put me at ease right away. Initially I wasn't sure if I should go to the ER, but I made the right choice with Urgent Care. They had me all fixed up and out in just over an hour and I couldn't have been happier with my care. The office itself was clean, inviting (as much as an urgent care can be anyway), and the staff were excellent handling insurance and paperwork. If you have any sort of medical issue that urgent care can help you with I highly recommend this one; they are efficient, caring, careful, spend quality time with the patient, and ensure you leave feeling better! read more

My husband and I had reservations about going to this particular facility. He was in a lot of pain in his ears, face and balance was off so we chose to go there rather than ER since it was a Saturday. My husband is 55 years old and has a history of getting sinus infections due to a small ear canal on one side. He explained this to the only person on duty the entire day, a PA named Victoria Carpenter. She did an evaluation on my husband and said she sees no scientific signs of an infection and refused to give him an antibiotic because the protocol is to wait two weeks and return. We got in to see a real MD Monday am at 9:15. Diagnosed with severe sinus infection and severe ear infection. Throat and sinus are very congested. He also has a stat MRI scheduled per doc today at 3:00 pm to rule out possible small stroke due to his confusion and severe dizziness and just very off. Way to go Next Care. This PA definitely does not do proper care and does not err on the side of caution. You are wasting your money being seen here. I guess they save money by having a PA on duty on a Saturday. read more

My partner and I have gone here before and have had mixed experiences. Depending on the staff on duty depends on if we get care or not. The last time my partner went they denied her care all together. She is a transgender woman and they refused to use She/Her pronouns and used Language like, " people like you" and "you people" multiple time. My partner called me while the interaction was going on because she was fearful. I heard the whole situation and am absolutely appalled by the blatant discrimination. They refused her care all together and yelled at her to get out. They keeps saying "sir you need to leave". Had the pharmacy call them - they took forever to retrieve the info and another hour to send it to pharmacy. Mind you... nobody was at next care the entire hour we were there. I was feeling sick so I went in for a rapid Covid-19 test. The lady at the front counter was very rude. I understand it was 9 am and she probably was tired of dealing with people coming in for tests, but it was not busy and there was no line, but she had zero patience for me. She was aggressively rude when I did not sign the page of paperwork for my insurance info, even though she had just told me I did not need to fill it out. I get why I would still need to sign it but it was incredibly rude. The PA I had was nice enough, but he basically talked down all of my symptoms. It turns out I do have COVID, so his advice was useless. The only good thing I have to say is the nurse who took my vitals was super sweet and in a good mood, I wish I had gotten her name. read more

The Arcadia location was clean and quite empty for an Urgent Care company. I rate all three people I came in contact with as below average in communication skills. Reception desk/area smelled like one or two people had recently smoked a cigarette. I registered online and scanned in my insurance card and answered questions about address, insurance and so on - and then I had to do it all again in person at the clinic while in severe pain -- including them needing to scan my insurance card in a second time. Medical Assistant hardly looked me in the eye and she was seemingly not being patient with me because I had to do everything very slowly due to pain. She wasn't unkind; she acted bored and disinterested in putting my vitals into her laptop. She took my BP, pulse and oxygen levels but did not share even my BP results. I didn't think to ask while I was in pain, but later I wondered what my BP actually was. Nurse Practitioner was better at looking me in the eye and talking to me, though he nor anyone else went over my discharge instructions verbally. I'm glad Seemed to be in a rush even though I was the only patient there. I happened to actually read and look over the discharge papers after I got in my car, maybe because it was a strange experience in the clinic. I'm glad I did because I had not realized that he sent an oral medication to my pharmacy to take in addition to the injection I was given. Otherwise, I truly did not think I had an RX to take in addition to the injection. I'll look at the whole experience as something to learn from. Moral of my story: we need to check and double and triple check healthcare instructions from our healthcare providers, no matter where we are seen. While checking out - neither the receptionist nor the MA went through my discharge papers. They put them on the counter for me to pick up and then went back to their conversation. They were both sitting casually at the front desk with no patients to take care of, as I believe I was the only patient in the clinic at that time. read more

I came here to get a rapid covid test and everyone was extremely kind and professional from the man working the front desk to the practitioner who did my test! I only had to wait around 15 minutes as a walk in before being called back. The entire process went super smooth with minimal paperwork or sitting around which is obviously optimal when you are feeling sick. People are nice and helpful when you finally get to see them. There are some drawbacks unfortunately... Made what looked like a 12:00pm appointment online. Was told I could come early -- showed up at 11:30am and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited. After I was told "you are 2nd in line" the wait was still 45 min. Later was told there are no appointments so who knows what I signed up for online. Filled out everything online. Uploaded my insurance card and everything. Still, there was more paperwork to fill out. So if you like waiting around with people who might have COVID, then you will love this system. Nice people but major lack of knowledge by NP. In need of heart meds and was told to take less before surgery - which will actually worsen the effects on my heart. Made absolutely no sense. If I received care from an MD and not an NP it may have been different, as they understand you cannot abruptly stop heart meds or suddenly decrease the dosage by 3/4th of your daily amount- let alone a few days before anesthesia/surgery. The only reason I went to this urgent care was due to a strict timeline and needing a covid 19 test. As I approached doors, there was a sign stating NO rapid covid19 tests available. I stepped inside to confirm, and to see if other tests were available. I was met with a very snarky response. The young lady at the front stated test results would take 3-5 days. I asked if these were 'business days'; she looked at me as if I had asked the most stupid question and responded '3-5 days'. I decided to stay and get the test here, just because there was only 1 other person in front of me. I handed the young lady behind the desk my cards and a form I had completed and printed online. She handed me a clipboard with several pieces of paper to complete (one being the form I had already signed). After filling out, she handed me back the blank one ("you didn't sign this"!) then she realized I had handed her the very same form that was completed. She handed one back and said in snarky manner "give this to them in the back when they call you back there". I feel was very patient with HER, I know everyone is stressed/scared/etc these days. I was trying to give her the benefit of a doubt. However, most of her responses were just plain rude. I got called to the back, the young lady back there took my temperature and blood pressure. Mine was a bit high (I had been running around, a bit stressed, etc etc. I told her this sometimes happens; I'm not concerned as the several that I've had over past few months have been fine. She gave me the snarkiest look, and said "it shouldn't be that way" without a hint of caring, and left the room. I'm glad I'm not the kind of person that sat there and worried about "oh my gosh, why is my blood pressure a bit high"? I was left alone with her face looking like I had said something horrific to her. I have to say, the 'provider' (as she called by the snarky staff member), the VERY nice person that actually gave me the test), was efficient, professional, and kind. Imagine that! Finding a person like that in a medical facility. I didn't get your name but thank you for explaining how the test was performed, and I felt comfortable with a 'somewhat' uncomfortable test. I wish I had gotten your name to thank you on this post. Otherwise, I will drive miles out of my way next time to get the help I need. The two young ladies (the first faces you see when you walk in) were rude, unprofessional, and honestly, if I was sick, I would have felt worse because of the manner in which I was treated. I waited until after I felt like myself again before writing this review. Despite the service received (which I will elaborate on) I can't find a reason to give this NextCare location more than three stars. Two weeks ago I lost my voice. This was followed by a horrible dry cough. I had a cough like this last year and I wanted to do something to prevent it from dragging on for weeks again. I visited the Arcadia NextCare because it was closest. For starters, most people who aren't feeling well probably don't want to climb stairs to the second floor. But that's a minor point. I arrived just after they opened and was first in line. And I quickly realized that NextCare handles on-line and call-ahead type waiting lists from the queue which is displayed. That's a cool feature! I was seen fairly quickly and the nurse practitioner was friendly. And I got a prescription for a pretty good cough medicine that halted my cough after a few days. However, I returned to work a day or so later and had sharp cramps in my abdomen and broke out in a cold sweat. A co-worker took me back to the same NextCare and this is where I feel as if the service was lacking. I wasn't seen as quickly as the first visit. Somehow, I figured a return visit within two days, looking pale as a ghost and having stomach pains would trigger a faster response. (Sometimes I expect too much). Once again, the provider was very friendly. But by the time I was done, all that I received for my co-pay was: my vitals being taken, a urine test and a lot of questions. I walked out without a plausible explanation for the stomach pains and the cold sweat. If anyone at NextCare is reading this, I'm not a doctor, but I'm about to play one... I figure the sharp pains were due to all the coughing which caused sore abdominal muscles. And the cold sweat was a fever breaking as I realized that I had a touch of the flu... Which no one suggested or mentioned. Thanks for the great cough medicine! My only regret is paying that second co-pay for nothing. read more

My daughter had a covid exposure at school and I am a healthcare worker. I was notified on a Friday evening of the exposure. I contacted work to let them know that I would do my best to get a rapid test so I can return to work on Monday. After searching the internet to find a location that was scheduling rapid tests, I finally found NextCare in Arcadia. I scheduled the appointment online making sure I specified rapid testing as my reason for visit. There were no appointments available for Saturday so I chose the earliest appointment available on Sunday. I live in Peoria and because of construction was forced to take surface streets making the drive over an hour, but it was the only rapid test available so I was willing to drive it so I could return to work. When I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment time I was told that they "don't have any rapid tests, they ran out two days ago." I asked why I wasn't called or notified in some way. The front desk lady looked at me and shrugged. I asked why the website wasn't updated to show that the rapid tests weren't available, and again she shrugged. I know covid is causing businesses to run differently and therefore some things fall through the cracks, but I wasn't even offered an apology for the inconvenience. The young lady at the desk addressed me with complete indifference. Clearly NextCare doesn't have regard for its patients. I will not be using this or any of their other locations for urgent care needs ever again! read more
