My first impression they had everyone's names available for everyone to see when you check in..HIPPA violation, I brought that to the attention of the front office staff, they didn't seem to concerned. They are not a company that I would bring my business to or recommend. My first appointment with them was delayed on their end. The second appointment that I had the following week scheduled was canceled in less than 24 hours notice because the provider was not available. I schedule for another appointment for the following week & I confirmed via email and then I received a phone call around 6:30 informing me that I needed to be there at 2pm. I explained to the person that I confirmed for 2:30 as that was my appointment time, the staff was ridiculously rude and talked over me as I explained that I work and it takes almost a half hour to get there. She then informed me that I had a following appointment for the following week, I had not scheduled for that appointment nor had the time off set with my employer. I explained that I was not going to make any appointments for this company as they are disorganized. I explained to cancel the appointment. The staff refused to hear me and said they would see me tomorrow. I received a follow up text from them saying I had an appointment and I canceled my appointment and blocked them from further text messages. Honestly I couldn't feel any difference after the first appointment and it's such a hassle to be scheduled. Ya, I definitely do not recommend this place. Any place that will reward you with a gift card for posting is a huge red flag I should have left before my first appointment.

I want to educate the public about surgeries and will continue posting on these subjects, for example on knee surgeries, many times patients do qualify for partial knee replacement if for example the outer meniscus cartilage is fine and only the inner meniscus is bad, but surgeons often insist on doing full knee replacements for whatever reasons. Why fix something that isn't broken ! With the right doctor and correct brand of products, a partial knee replacement has WAY less recovery time and pain and also preserves the ACL ligament and has good outcomes. Also find a doctor who is known to have good follow up care after the surgery and who actually cares about patients !

I was under the knife, in the recovery room, and on my way home from surgery in 2 hours. J had called Lucero's office 2 hours after we had gotten home because I had noticed blood coming from the top of my dressing. Lucero told him that drainage was to be expected, and that it could be light pink in color. This is even though J mentioned that what we were seeing was red red...not light pink and that the whole dressing felt completely wet against my skin. Yes, I was drugged...but I knew something didn't feel right with the bandages. Lucero told J to have me come into the office the next day to have the dressing changed. He's the doctor, so we thought that we were worrying over nothing. Hours later, in the middle of the night, J ended up having to rush me to the ER for an arterial bleed. Finding me pale as a ghost, with blood all over the living room floor I imagine was not what J was expecting discover when I called out his name early that morning. According to the doctor at Good Sam, a branch artery was weakened/nicked during surgery. This was a simple "routine surgery" that was not so routine. More like rushed. To top it all off, I'm still experiencing pain and swelling...even with going to PT. After the baby is born, I'll be going back to see an Orthopaedic surgeon. Will it be Lucero? F- NO!

Also with any medical care you do need to be careful because there are often unnecessary tests being done. That all being said, I have seen Dr Johnsen for my foot and Achilles and he fixed my toe after tearing cartilage in a taekwondo match. At age 53 and only 5'10 I can touch the rim so I would say it went well. Then several years later he checked my Achilles and made sure it wasn't injured and gave me the appropriate exercises to make sure it was appropriately loose. I cannot comment on some of the other orthopedist who had negative reviews but Johnsen is good.

I had come from another very large PT…read moreorganization where I was released after 5 months and was still lacking in being able to function with basic life skills. Dr. Gomez (Makali) was amazing. She gave me incremental exercises that led to not just a full recovery, but strength, range of motion, and flexibility that I had not had before my injury. Sevaughn, her therapy assistant is also amazing with an encouraging very professional attitude dove tailed with attention to detail, fine tuning the subtleties of each assigned exercise to give maximum benefit. The physical improvement was coupled with a sense of caring and consistent compassion. I saw it with all their clients. It gave me a profound sense of comparison to the very impersonal and uncaring attitude of the PT site I had been released from. And, finally I want to express my sincere appreciation to the welcoming reception staff greeting each person by first name. They were immensely helpful and their phone calls were very kind and courteous.
