This place was mad and professional like I got those fingerprints live scanned by the school professionally done and I had to retake them so many times and now they're saying all that went to waste and I was in my class eight hours long and could not leave had to stay their station just for this place so I can get my licensing to tell me you know what your fingerprints are not even valid when they actually were they just wanted me to do even more additional steps to give them you know my fingerprints and I find that weird that I have to go to a police station and get my fingerprints professionally done cause I already got them professionally done at my school. I feel like this place is a waste of time and waste of money and I don't even get my money refunded. I'm so pissed. I'm not saying that I cannot get my fingerprints professionally done by another agency or by the cops, but I feel like they should've told me before I paid $72 and when they looked at my fingerprints, they should've told me that before I even paid because then I wouldn't have not purchased anything and could've saved my $72 for the professional fingerprints I mean, I could get my fingerprints done by again so they're clear but I feel like that's a waste of time and a waste of money because I feel like if I already got rejected I'll probably get rejected for my licensing so I just feel frustrated but next time in the future, I will have many fingerprints ready, but this was all an experience though just so extremely frustrated and disappointed, but I feel like everything happens for a reason, but will never come back :( read more

The wife and I were headed home from Phoenix and got a flat tire just outside of Kingman. Trooper Cooney stopped and assisted us. It made my wife and I feel a little better having the flying trucks move over a lane thanks to his flashing lights. He was a consummate professional l. Yesterday 8/6 I was traveling at the Highway 60/202 split headed North and as I changed lanes to stay on the 202, something was on the road in front of me. I tried to miss it but it punctured my right front tire which went flat immediately. I was lucky enough to get safely to the shoulder and called DPS for help about what to do. I am a senior and I was shaken by the experience- afraid to get out of the car with all the traffic zooming by. In about 15 minutes, State Trooper White was at my car door and checked my spare; then offered to put it on. I was so surprised by his willingness to assist me. He was so calm and helpful. It was truly an amazing experience. I want to thank him for his professionalism and kindness. Great public service! read more

I went early, so the wait time was like 10 minutes. Overall, the lady behind the window was easy to talk to and made my inquiry quick.

I just have to give a shout out to the nicest patrol officer I ever met; and I'm not just saying this because he let me go with a warning. Officer J.M. Diaz pulled me over for doing 94 mph in a 75 zone. I was 1 mph away from felony speeding. I confess, I already had three moving violations on my record -- over the past three years -- I drive a Porsche and take cross country trips and sometimes I like to test the car. The fastest I've driven? 126 on the road to the Monterey Jazz festival. But I digress. On this fateful day, December 6, to be exact, I saw Officer Diaz in the median just as I was decelerating from passing someone, and I could see I was over 90 mph. I watched in my rearview mirror and saw that, yes, he was pulling onto the road. There were a bunch of trucks blocking his access to the road, and I prayed that I could make it to the turn off and get off the road and hide in a gas station. That prayer went unanswered. Officer Diaz came to the passenger side door and asked, "Do you know the speed limit?" I gushed that I knew I hit 91 or 92, but it was only for about 10 seconds (a Porsche can take you from 85 to 100 in about 3 seconds, and back down again in 3 seconds more), and would he consider giving me a break. Well, you already know the end to this story. But Officer Diaz was pleasant (usually when I get pulled over the officers are mad, like I said something bad about their mother). He explained to me why the laws are the way they are, and why doing 90+ is a danger to self and others. Officer Diaz should be Captain or whatever. He should be training others. He should be in charge of everything. read more

This evening I was coming down US 60 and my back right tire pressure began to go low really fast. I got over on the right shoulder and it went completely flat. I called 911 and they connected me to DPS. The officer was on scene in less than 15 minutes. I was so scared as I've never broken down or had any type of issues on a major hwy. He was so friendly and I'm ashamed to say with all the commotion I did not get his name. However, he was so nice and friendly and I appreciate him changing my tire and helping me!! Went in today to follow up with CCW division regarding an extension to my certification regarding a lag in my history and background check. Geraldine came out and spoke AT me. Not only was she very condescending but she was also very unprofessional. At one point she called me buddy. All I was trying to do was find out if I could get an extension for my CCW application based on the fact that I am going through an appeal process with my criminal history. She was very condescending and very rude. Everybody else that I've dealt with at AZ DPS such as Tom O'Connell has been nothing but helpful. Losing payments, advising they have a policy of not giving any refunds but then asking for a second payment before they can "return" the first. Their online portal launch was an utter disaster! Months delays, leaving business in a lurch as they attempt to comply w licensing requirements while dealing w bureaucratic idiots! Their concealed carry section reported to have similar delays and problems. It's no wonder AZCDL and many others are asking the AG to investigate their incompetence. I was in a 4-car collision Friday afternoon and cannot say enough about the the kindness and professionalism highway patrolman, Brandon Byrd, displayed. Given the fact that anyone who is in an accident is considerably shaken, once Officer Byrd arrived at the scene, I personally felt more relaxed and safe. He was calming and understanding while still taking control of the situation in an authoritative manner. He also went above and beyond the call of duty when I realized I left something in the back of his patrol car and he went the extra mile(s) in getting it back to me. I was driving south of Page yesterday when I see an officer going north. I had my cruise set at 65 in a 65 zone. I don't think anything about it. Then all a sudden there are lights in my mirror and I am pulled over. I have no idea why. A young recruit come to the door. He says I was pulled over for a broken windshield. My windshield is cracked on the passenger side, NOT IN MY VISION. He takes my info. It takes forever. All the time the senior officer is giving us the evil eye. I understand they need to be vigilante, but my god, I am not a serial killer. The young officer finally comes back and gives me a fix it ticket. He was nice enough, but I think the stop was for training purposes. I think it was a chicken shit stop. I have seen windshields that need to be replaced and mine is not one of them. It gave me a bad taste. Makes me question why I support the police. If you want to do something, go to the southern border. Do something there! If I was an illegal alien with a stolen car they probably told me to have a nice day. I know that is an exaggeration but this stop was total bullshit. I don't know if I was targeted because I have out of state plates but it sure ruined my day while trying to enjoy a beautiful sunny day. This dork M Beaudoin (badge number 05690, dude has the glasses/haircut & the whole 9 yards) wrote me a ticket for not being 2 entire car lengths behind the car in front of me (I was apparently 1.5 car links behind) while going the speed limit IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC (And I was literally going 65 in a 65, WHO ACTUALLY DOES THAT!) In my 15 years of driving I have never come across a more pettier officer. My driving record has been CLEAN. This mediocre cop also took me on a ridiculous goose chase to find somewhere to pull over and had the nerve to be a smartass about it when he came to my window (the goose chase was so unnecessary). Its situations like this that make me ponder why I stand up for police in today's climate.... This guy isn't gunning for any awards, that's clear. read more

AZ DPS is responsible for the administration of CCW permits (concealed carry weapons permits) They are REQUIRED by Arizona State Law (AZ REV STAT 13-3112 (A), (E), and (H)), to make a determination of acceptance or rejection within sixty (60) days of receiving an application, and are REQUIRED by Arizona State Law (AZ REV STAT 13-3112 (A), (E), and (H), to issue the permit upon acceptance within fifteen (15) days of said acceptance. I filed an application on August 15th, and was given receipt by USPS that AZ DPS had received my application. On October 12th, after waiting several months and not hearing or receiving any notice of acceptance or denial, I called the AZ DPS CCW division. I was told that my application was accepted, and was told a permit was issued. As of 10/29. I have not received any permit. This is a violation of Arizona State Law, and a violation of my Second Amendment Constitutional Rights. I will be consulting with an attorney tomorrow to discuss my legal options, and fully intend to hold AZ DPS accountable for these violations, up to and including a complaint with the AZ State Attorney General's Office. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone interested in obtaining an AZ CCW permit, to first consult and retain an attorney to help them with the process. It is my understanding that AZ DPS has consistently failed to issue permits within the time limits required by AZ Law. I have spoken to several other residents experiencing the same issues that I have in this matter. read more

I believe the DPS is doing their job the way it was intended. The reason for my posting here is to say a couple of things. 1) The wrong way driver incidents can be prevented, if not mostly contained. Lit signs or boards are for the ones obeying the law. The perpetrators are out o the loop anyway so they can't comprehend or respond to the signs. I see from statistics that most WWD realize they've screwed up and attempt to stay in the slow lane (right lane) but end up actually being in the HOV lane going the wrong way. That being the case, it would be smart to address that part of their brain w/a high intensity light that impairs the driver by blinding them. A trip wire on the off ramp to set off that bright flash would stop them on the spot. Or a camera that senses headlights approaching. 2) With the new infrastructure bill Phoenix would benefit by implementing an easy fix for lack of mass transit, light rail in particular. What I refer to as a 'bus train', that runs on tires on either the HIV lane OR if that won't work then on the shoulder of the freeway and interstate as well as the outer loop freeways. It consists of a tractor trailer type vehicle w/ coaches for passengers. No tracks required since the pavement is already there and it runs on tires. They can figure out stations to embark/disembark under the fwy overpass or above the underpass. One and done! Cheers! Thx! read more

I love Arizona. Its my favorite place in the world. I just realized that the ADPSTE, sets people up for failure. Having been a former boss, I prided myself on setting up people for success. It was a joy of mine and I can still go back and see the people that I trained and taught and molded into leaders now leading their own teams. Its wonderful. Traveling through Phoenix at 3am on Sunday morning I noticed these, "Photo Enforcement" signs, and nary a speed limit sign. I'm looking around this giant, and I mean giant 4 to 5 lane freeway wondering, "What is the speed limit?" Yes, naivete isn't admissible but when there is one 55 mile and hour sign within a mile of freeway, you think people would miss it. In California a 4 to 5 lane highway is 65 miles an hour. How can you humanly possible go 55 on a giant expanse of highway? Suddenly the flash goes off and I still don't know how fast I'm supposed to be going. A few more miles up the road and my eyes are on the right hand side like the terminator waiting for the speed limit sign. Within the 500ft mark of the next "Photo Enforcement" area there was 1. ONE!!!! 55 mile per hour sign. Therefore, I can see how I am being set up for failure. Sure enough there was a letter sent to my corporate office with my lovely picture. I even got to go to the website and see the video of me speeding by. I looked like the wind. They said that is doesn't effect your record but how am I supposed to know. All I know is that they shouldn't expect their drivers to fail, they should hope they succeed and put more fricking speed limit signs up. I was driving on I-10 and noticed an officer coming up behind me, as I was turning into the next lane I dident realize how quickly another car was coming in the same lane, I allmost hit him. The officer pulled me over and asked if Id seen the car, I had to say yes, he told me "use your turn signals" and to have a nice day! What he dident know was I had just left the airport where I had lost my purse, everything, my licence, my $, credit card, was all in there. when I seen those lights in my rear veiw mirror I about had a break down! I was on my way to pick-up a rider and bypassed a vehicle using the HOV lane, of course going a little faster can one do that, and just after came back to the lane I was using, just then I looked in my driving mirror and noticed the driver of a black car turning his head to see who I was and got behind me, and he stated flashing his lights, I knew I have to be careful to get my car to safety without endangering other users since I was using the 4th lane, I indicated my turning light and looking for a break to pull over, that for this police officer that wasn't fast enough and started with an angry voice on an intercom, indicator lights are meant to give the direction a vehicle is turning and in my case a busy morning traffic I have to be careful to avoid unnecessary accident particularly when a cop was behind me. There was no reason to start an intercom with such an angry voice yelling. I was confused as to where he wanted me to pull over since I was indicating with my light to get a clear way behind me before I can safely get off the roadway, so that means I have to keep going but in this case I have to stop right in the middle of a freeway. He started reading the tall list of my charges and the obvious ticket which he was going to give me, first why didn't I pull over immediately, count one I didn't obey him immediately, why i overtook the other car, count two and three on and on. I try to explained but would not allow me. And he asked me to come out of the car, he was going around my car to my side with his hands on his weapon and another object, so I locked my car and rolled up the window and he tried to open the car, I rolled down the window slightly and gave him the documents he was asking for and he still wanted me to come out and I wouldn't until he laid on the ground the object he was holding and I came out after. He handcuffed me and I was asking what warrants the action of handcuff. He really was angry, he won't let me put back my wallet into my pocket before cuffing me, he took my wallet and placed in a plastic bag and into his car. Recent scenes I met as an Uber driver, most people pulled over were colored people or "Black People" if you like, and they are handcuffed on their face on the gravel pavement or they are sitting down on the pavement by the highways, so dehumanizing. I read an article recently online about how "black people" are targeted, followed and harassed as a matter of policy because of their activism. Well I got my baptism today. The officer was alleging that I didn't obey him, (1) so he taking me to jail, (2) impounding my vehicle (3) ceasing my driving license. etc. etc. Another officer came by and first listened to the story of his colleague, and came at me first with the issue with racism, the analogy was if there was anyone sitting at the front of my car if I can identified him as black or white... and I said there wasn't anyone sitting in my car to that effect and I pleaded with him to hear my side of the story, I strongly pointed out that they are the civil authority and the uniform distinguished them as such, it's very important they know who they really are and fairly treat anyone they come into contact with, it doesn't matter what race because lot of us look up to them, they are our security and hope in the face of complicated world of terrorism, evil and wicked people. He then listened to my side of the story, he consulted with the other officer who detained me under handcuff on a freeway. Finally a decision was reached and I was un-cuffed and my driving license, and wallet was given back to me. The whole point of writing this was; the police are not the enemies of civil society in which they live when they are not in uniform, it's very important that civil society realizes that the police are not their enemies but the are the actors of upholding the law and maintaining security and orderly and safe society, they are for us and we are for them. They must live above reproach to command the respect due them, the power of the UNIFORM MUST NOT BE ABUSED, THAT IS THE SYMBOL OF VESTED AUTHORITY OF THE NATION. THEY MUST BE FAIR IN DEALING WITH THE CIVIL SOCIETY TO CONTINUE TO WIN THEIR SUPPORT. THE UNIFORM SHOULD PROTECT EVERYONE IN ANY CASE, BEING IT BLACK OR WHITE, HISPANIC OR ASIAN, WE ARE ALL EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW. THEY ARE PEACE OFFICER AND MUST ALLOW PEACE TO PERMEATE WHEREVER THEIR PRESENCE IS. I DIDN'T HATE THIS OFFICER AND WOULD NOT MENTION HIS NAME, HE IS JUST DOING HIS JOB BUT MUST NOT BE PREJUDICED AGAINST A PARTICULAR RACE. I was driving eastbound on AZ Loop 101 Freeway on 3/18/20, on my way to work. I'm a nurse. I was running a little late and was traveling at a speed of 72 MPH. Consequently, I was in the 55 MPH "Construction Zone". It was 9:45 at night, dark, and hardly any other vehicles were on the road. As I was approaching the corner to head south, I noticed a rather large vehicle about 1/4 mile behind me with flashing emergency lights (no sirens), bright flood lights closing in very fast behind me. At first glance, I assumed it was an ambulance and there was a dire emergency up ahead somewhere. The vehicle was directly behind me now, tailgating my Prius. I was in lane #3 which I usually travel in to avoid the potholes. I was rather startled as to the unusual nature of why this emergency vehicle was right up on me. I pulled aside to the left (carpool) lane to let it pass. I didn't realize I had made an improper lane change. The vehicle then moved behind me as well. Confused, I slowed down to realize it wasn't an ambulance. Then, a voice on a P.A. stated, "Driver, pull your vehicle over to the right!". I carefully complied and moved back into lane #3. The voice continued: " Now, driver, pull your vehicle over to the shoulder at the next exit!". I did so. As I stopped i looked in my rear view mirror squinting from the glare caused by all the bright, flashing lights. I noticed a rather large vehicle that appeared to look as if it were septic truck. Much larger than an SUV, so I was certain that it wasn't the Phoenix or Scottsdale Police. After about 3 minutes, the officer approached my passenger side window. I rolled it down. I noticed it was a AZ State Trooper. He asked me for my proof of insurance and registration. I handed him my brown folding document holder which contains those forms. As I was still bewildered, I sat speechless at first as he stated, " the reason I pulled you over is because you were speeding at 72 mph in a 55 work zone, and failure to properly change lanes ." I told him that I was startled at first because I thought it was an ambulance trying to pass and I was running late for work. He just looked at me and said, "just hold on, ill be back in a few minutes." I waited well over 5 minutes, then he returned. He handed me a printed citation and my registration paper. He explained to me that I was being cited for improper lane change, but that he wouldn't cite me for speeding. I was somewhat appreciative and thanked him. (maybe I appealed to him in some way--he realizing that it was late at night and no construction OR that I was late and was a first responder). He also said that I had until 5/13 to show up in court to either contest or pay the fine. When I asked him how much, he wouldn't say. Also, there is no amount listed on the citation. He then said I was free to go. I did thank him for keeping our streets safe. He responded, "OK, just make sure you always pull over to the right lane when approached by an emergency vehicle ". "Good night", he added as he walked away. Hurriedly, I put the papers in my glove box and headed down the freeway to work. By the time I arrived to work, I had realized that the Trooper had forgotten to return my document holder which had my proof of insurance papers. The next day I called the number on the citation, but couldn't reach anyone. I tried a week later. Still no luck. When I went online to the website, I discovered that the fine was $175--pretty stiff for an improper lane change. Trooper D.W. was civil but unforgiving, especially in this time of crisis. Maybe he should be more concerned with accidents and malicious speeders rather than 1 car driving "the normal flow of traffic" speed limit on a deserted freeway late at night. If he was so concerned about my actions, he should have ordered me outside my car for a breathalyzer test-which he didn't. Perhaps, the state of Arizona should get on board and call their patrol section the State Highway Patrol, or State Police, like most other states to avoid the confusion. Department of Public Safety doesn't sound legit enough. Lesson learned, get a fuzzbuster to avoid these situations! I believe that officers are decent people and have nothing against them. Warning Warning Warning. Don't make the same mistake as me. I am trying to save you guys. Well got my fingerprints taken to go back to teaching again. Paid the 75 bucks then waited two weeks and got my card. Well guess what when I took it to the Department of Education. They said I had the wrong card. Well turns out there were 2 choices a regular fingerprint card and a IVP fingerprint card. When you are on the internet it is really confusing to get the 2 mixed up and the people at DPS say it happens all the time since teaching is really the only profession that requires the IVP. So I head over to DPS offices on Encanto and Grand Ave. I got the whole "TOO BAD SO SAD" response at the mistake. They said you got to do it all over again and pay another 75 bucks. YEP. Nothing they can do. The lady seemed really exhausted at having to tell people this bad news. I couldn't even get mad at her. She really did feel my pain. She said they really need to warn people more clearly so this kind of shit doesn't keep happening. Only reason I gave them 2 stars and not 1 is because of that lady. She really did show empathy and if there was anything she could do, I am sure she would have done it. So people when you get your card make sure you don't screw up or it will cost you dearly. I was on the 101 North trying to get off my exit on broadway. If anyone lives there, they know that they have to shift 3 lanes over right away to reach the exit because the exit to the 60 West and east is right there. So, cruising at the speed limit I accelerated up to 80 to get over since I was blocked in and there was no other way. Then this Douchebag officer named M. Beaudoin (badge#05690) SIRENED ME and pulled me over. He must have been bullied as a kid or just got no play in high school because he was being a total smart-ass for no reason at all. Not only was he being f*** rude, but he also monitored my speed by a STOPWATCH (VASCAR). Since he was so focused looking at his f****** watch, he didn't get to see the reason as to why I accelerated for literally 5 seconds and then slowed down. I understand that the speed limit is the speed limit, but me accelerating to the speed of NORMAL TRAFFIC FLOW do not deserve to be treated like I had just killed somebody. Thank you for having an officer pull over my mother during a pandemic and tell her she doesn't need a mask. You guys are very professional talking down a 61 year old woman with the officer telling point blank he is doubtful she would stop for a person in a wheelchair. She was going 10 over. Sorry but most of us should be giving props to them, they are doing their job and put their lives on the line every day. I had a tire blow out last night and forgot my cell phone and was changing my tire while watching the semi's whiz by. Didn't get the officers name but he provided a 2nc set of eyes so I could get my job done a lot quicker. read more
