A gallery full of beautiful books & things worth buying. Gregory has a great personality with a touch of spunk & little bit of funk.

I've walked Main Street a million times and never went into Arizona West Galleries until today. And am I glad I did! What a find! Browsing books outside, a voice from inside said, "Want to buy a book?" That's all it took. We walked inside and chatted with, gallery owner, Greg Hays, a gregarious, enthusiastic, friendly, extremely intelligent man for 30 minutes. We talked Maynard Dixon (of who his family has a large collection of), politics, health and more! His store is difficult to describe - a haphazard collection of art, books of all genres (including childrens), horse saddles, mirrors, etc. It's layout is orderly chaotic. We walked out with some hugs and his family written book titled, Space Silent Spirit Maynard's Dixon's West, of which Greg signed. We feel like we have a new friend and definitely will be back with regularity. If you haven't been, please do go. You won't be disappointed.

Gregory was such a thrill to meet and learn about all his favorite books! We loved him!

The best book store! Gregorio is quirky and charming and he makes sure everyone feels welcomed and valued. I appreciated him for taking the time to give me book recommendations and answer all my questions. The customer service sets this place apart, I highly recommend Arizona West Galleries

Friendly owner, Gregory Hayes, helped us find the perfect kids books.

We had a wonderful experience shopping for children's books with the shop owner, Gregory today. He's friendly, kind, and knew just the right questions to ask to find the perfect book match for each of my children. You don't get this type of experience ordering from amazon.

Fantastic owner and new customer!!!

Loved the variety in the store. Classic books, new books and art work, some of which is vintage in nature. Loved chatting with the owner, who is fun and a great conversationalist. Don't miss this spot!!

The, Man, the myth, the legend: GREGORY P HAYS

Gregory Hays is the most selfless, personable and energetic gallery owner on the entire strip in Old Town Scottsdale. Every time I go in I purchase books (which he has a beautiful selection of). I recommend the Hays Grand Canyon Collection. It's such a great piece, I even purchased one for a family member and she now has it on display in her living room. There are countless rare art pieces in there ranging from oil paintings to posters and various western memorabilia. Please do me a favor and go check out Arizona West Galleries especially during these uncertain times. You're bound to also make a new great friend who genuinely cares about his customers and isn't just trying to make a sale. GO in and tell all your friends & family!!

First of all, I had no idea this place was the size of a small nation. I walked in thinking,…read more"Little antique shop, I'll just go up one aisle and down the next." Ma'am. Sir. There is no "up and down." This place is a labyrinth designed by someone who said, "What if we hid Narnia behind every dresser?" I got lost at least three times. Possibly four. At one point I genuinely forgot: What I came for, which direction I entered... who I am as a person. Every time I thought I found the "main path," I'd turn a corner and BAM! secret pocket room. Hidden alcove. Side quest unlocked. Now, to be fair, if you are someone who enjoys treasure hunting, rummaging, discovering trinkets you didn't know you needed, and time traveling, this is your Disneyland. There is stuff. So much stuff. Trinkets. Bobbles. Whatnots, galore. Things your grandma had. Things your grandma refused to have. I went in looking for one very specific item. I did not find it. I did, however, find three existential moments and mild spatial disorientation. Did I have a good time? Yes. Did I leave with what I needed? No. Did I briefly consider dropping breadcrumbs to find my way out? Also yes. Three stars because it's impressive, chaotic, and an adventure... but if you go in with a mission, be prepared to lose it. Possibly along with your sense of direction. Would return. With a map.

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday is going on a treasure hunt as I like to call it & this…read moreparticular antique store I just love! We've been to this store several times over the past couple of years & every time I'm lucky enough to find something amazing yet half the time my choice is in the locked cabinet..... lol! This store is extremely large so you can definitely be there for a few hours because they have everything that you can imagine! The store is also well spaced out for as big as it is & it's not cluttered like some antique stores can be! On this last visit I completely lucked out because I've been eyeing a figurine in a glass case & it was still there! Well once they took it out & put it in my hands I knew I wanted it.... a Giuseppe Armani figurine so delicately made, I fell in love & the price.... Could not beat! Then on another visit in another locked glass case there she sat.... This gorgeous Sweden " Strombergshyttan " crystal vase of a girl holding a bird cage, underneath the vase is signed & numbered. Yes I basically walked away with a steal, my husband had to tell me to stop smiling! I just love this store, there's such a large selection to choose from for all tastes out there! Mind you it's not in that fancy zip code but do not let that discourage you because sometimes when you drive out of those zip codes that's where's there'll be some extra treasures lingering around!
