We visited on a late Saturday afternoon, and were seated quickly on the patio. Surprised as the bar area both inside and the patio that is in the rear off the parking lot were full. Very nicely decorated with their theme. The street view seating was shaded and the misters were on which kept it cool. Street traffic was a bit loud but not too bad, the front parking buffered the noise. Our server greeted us quickly and was jam packed with suggestions of comparable commercial beers to their brand of beers. Not going to lie, their brand is delicious and actually a bit better than the commercial brand We had their Dead out & Dont F it up. Dead out is a must try, I'm not in any way a dark ale person but this was by far more tasty than the Don't f it up. However both were wonderful. The food is not a reason to go. We both had tacos and shared onion rings. The meat was cooked perfectly but the sauce was less palatable, flavors were too overpowering and drenched sauce. It killed the flavor of the meat itself. When mentioned it to the server, she simply shrugged and stated they do have "heat", I said that it was too much on there, lifted a piece with my fork and it was dripping, covered. Heat was not the issue, too much was. The sauce itself was tasty, but took away from the dish. Had it been on a chip of a fry dipped into it would have been better. Duly noted, next ask for it on the side, let the meat itself shine through. Lastly, the onion ring were truly disappointing. Arrived a very cool room temperature. They arrived few minutes after the tacos, and after reminding the server as we had ordered them. Almost felt as if they were ready on time by the kitchen staff, she was purely overwhelmed and simply, forgot. Small portion and my opinion not an option on my future visit again. Soggy and very greasy, perhaps would have been better if served hot and on time. Worth a visit, may go again. Maybe. Definitely go for the extensive list of brews, here is where they shine.

I was seeing those frozen margaritas online and I knew I just needed to try them! So happy we did, even came on a Monday so they were half off. They were delicious and can still taste the tequila. Tried some onion rings absolutely delicious as well, those were the full size. Ambiance was cool, sat outside and misters were working overtime. Shout out the bartenders super nice people.

08/10/2026 My mom and I love the Baselayer Burrito ($17 + $2 to add egg), but it was not as good today. The burrito size seemed smaller today, which would've been fine with us, but other factors made it unsatisfactory. There were lots of beef fat instead of meat - many small pieces, and I also got a thick piece of fat, like an inch thick. I should've taken a picture of it. This had never happened before in the dozens of times I've had the burrito. There was also a random coconut flavor that was never there before, and it did not pair well with the other flavors. Another change was the burrito didn't come with a side before, and this time it was served with tortilla chips. The chips were okay, but I'd rather have more duck fat fries. Service was good to start, and he checked in with us shortly after we got our food. Then we didn't see our server for a long time after that. So we sat there for a bit after finishing our food. I hope they take this feedback into consideration because I'm willing to come back and give the burrito another try.

I've been to this brewery a few times. The food is always fresh and they have plenty of drinks to choose from. They have both indoor and patio (with misters) seating. They're usually busy at dinner time, even on the weekdays, but we've never had to wait long. I like to get their side salad with a breaded chicken breast cut on top. Their breading for their fried chicken is delicious. Highly recommend!

Our search for the best burgers in Phoenix brought us to Arizona Wilderness Brewing. We visited on a Friday around 6:00 PM; the place was hopping, and the atmosphere was great with basketball playing on several TVs. We were greeted and seated immediately. We started with a beer and the cauliflower appetizer--both were amazing! Just a heads-up: the cauliflower is a little spicy, but totally addictive. Our burgers arrived quickly. The onion rings and duck fat fries were on point with unique seasoning, and the homemade ketchup and pickles were a welcome surprise. We tried the PB&J burger, which was both creative and delicious. Overall, it was a fun "dinner adventure," and we will definitely be back!

I always enjoy AZ Wilderness. The nachos with their hot sauce is my new fave and perfect with the margarita!

They're known for their beer and burgers. And on those, they delivered! I enjoyed the darker beers, the amber, and their award winning light beer. The service was very kind and quick, even on a Saturday. They have plenty of porch seating as well if you like that. I got the Oklazona Burger (I think is how you spell it) and it was utterly amazing. Juicy, spicy, soft, and perfect. One of my favorite burgers. The tacos didn't fair as well though, with the fish being the only liked flavor and the other three (carne asada, pork, and avocado/veggie) not being big hits. I still highly recommend the burgers though and will definitely be back to enjoy them more often!

12/11/2first Visit. Location 5/5 Located in the beautiful downtown Gilbert Entertainment and eatery district. See my collection for Downtown Gilbert! Parking 5/5 Today I cheated and caught a ride in our carpool Van. Arrived noonish and Rooster found parking out front. Atmosphere 5/5 Cool casual open spaces concept, darker country sports bar feel with lots of room for patrons. The entry front patio space was dog friendly and active. Dog owners meet-up! We were seated on the outdoor covered back patio which is perfect for large groups. We had -25 in our group today. Service 5/5 I hope to get our servers name and update, she was a champ working us solo and did an amazing job from drinks through orders and timely food delivery. Prefect personality for this. Again thank/you from all of us! Food 5/5 The menu was fun to explore, I was pleased to we were at a scratch kitchen which incorporates fresh sourced ingredients and grass fed beef. Lots of unique chief inspired nuanced ingredients parings. My Burger was no exception. Excellent craft burger! The duck/fat fries were delicious as well. Expertly seasoned with a healthier fat for cooking. Everyone enjoyed their food. Come see and enjoy many different spaces to try your delicious meal with thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Eat well my friends-SYOY!

    Wicked chicken sandwich
    Christine N.

It's been quite a few years since I was last here, but boy was it as delicious as I remembered. The Wicked Chicken sandwich I got was really flavorful with the sauce they add, the bacon was crispy, and the chicken was tender and moist too. The duck fat fries are classic and rich without being heavy. I love how refreshing their dessert blossom tea is and great as an Arnold Palmer. I highly recommend coming here. Our server was friendly and checked in on us often. The brewhouse vibes and outdoor seating is a great casual spot to meet with friends or coworkers.

service was fast and friendly, checked on us shortly after we got seated. ordered and food came fresh and fast, fries were crispy and delicious. burger was juicy and had the perfect amount of toppings that complimented each other wonderfully, the bacon was crispy and a great addition. the music and atmosphere was great as well. it wad a great family lunch, we enjoyed our time here and will be back. I loved the house made habanero hot sauce as well

Tasty beer and really good burgers! I dined here a couple of days ago with a group of friends and really enjoyed the experience. The staff was very friendly and the food was outstanding. They had a lovely pilsner, which I really liked, and I opted for the chicken sandwich on sourdough, which was really a treat. I'm a big fan of the Arizona wilderness, and equally a fan of the namesake brewery/restaurant!

I hate writing negative reviews. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month since he loves the chicken and waffles and I love the PB&J burger. The two stars are for the service. This only happens when we go with Latinos. The last 3 times we went with Latinos the service has been terrible, so much that my boyfriend pointed it out it's only when we come with Latinos. Even when it's not busy, we have to find our server and request to order, once we didn't get napkins, and silverware even though we asked twice. The food comes out great. It's just like we get ignored. And it's not like we order difficult things or we are rude. We still tip good because I've worked in the industry. But I think maybe the staff needs inclusive training because any other time we have good service.

Came here for lunch a few days ago and it was my first visit. We sat at the awkward end of the bar and Riley was our server. She was very sweet and recommended a few of the popular burgers, as well as what they're known for, their PB&J burger. So, that's what I ordered (always gotta go for a good "known for"). Unfortunately, there was BARLEY a whisper of peanut butter. It was a literally a burger patty, with really good bacon and a smidgen of jalapeño jelly. Very disappointing to say the least. However, I am still rating this a four stars, because our server, Riley, was great, my boyfriend liked his smash burger and the fries were a delight, but....if you have a PB&J burger, it would help if it actually had some PB.

Ask the Community - Arizona Wilderness Brewing

What size/weight burgers we talking about?

Big enough to share with one other person. At least it was for us. Try their bacon blue it's outstanding.

    Do they fill growlers?

Yes, our beer is offered to go in 4pack cans, bottles, growler or a 32oz crowler can! Unfortunately, due to COVID sanitation concerns we are unable to allow outside growlers to be refilled, but have new avaiable for purchase.

What are the happy hour specials?

M-F 3-6pm and Sunday all day Steins

Do they take reservations? I'm going in a group of about 6 people

Been coming here a long time and we've never been able to call ahead.

    Are you guys dog friendly?

    Absolutely! Bring the whole family!

    Is it dog friendly?

    Yes, patio is dog friendly

Is the beer vegan by chance? Are any of their IPAs vegan?

    Is this restaurant kid friendly?

Yes. They have high chairs and it gets loud enough that the occasional kid yell or scream won't really be heard. That being said, there's no specific kid friendly food served there. But we take our 1.5 year old every time and it's been fine.

Does the veggie burger patty happen to be vegan?

It is vegan! No animal products of any kind are used in this patty's ingredients or preparation methods. Keep in mind, the bun we offer is an egg wash brioche. However, this patty is delicious on salads and our black bean delight can be served…

Great deal too. The place is nice and decent in size. Parking was ok. They have a variety of games to choose from so it's also kid friendly if you bring your kids with you. They also have water and water cups to the side if you need some. The bartender who was there tonight was friendly & allowed us to take our time choosing the beer we wanted to try on our flights. Overall, some of the flavors were interesting and some weren't to our liking. Honestly, it really comes down to preference of how the flavors came through when you first sip it if you ask me. It was a hit or miss for me and my friends. Out of the 5, I did enjoy the Wy Abbo one the most since it's a guava pale ale. It had good flavors. One thing for sure though, I kind of wish all the beers on the flight were more cold. I don't know how to explain it but the temperature of it wasn't as crisp as I thought it should've been and it might've made a difference for my palate if beers came out colder. I also wish they included seltzers in their flight option. That would've allowed me to enjoy the flight more since beer can be heavy & fulfilling when you have multiple. We really wanted to like the beer options at this place but it wasn't for us. Glad we were able to test it out and for me, I only came because my husband and friends like beer.
