This place is so cozy and cute located in Saint Phillips Plaza. I came here to grab a glass of wine and ended up trying a flight because I could not decide which wine I wanted, which was a great suggestion that the bartender made for me. I ended up doing a white flight but skipped out on the Sweet white and went with a rosé and then they also had a bubbles option over all the wines were pretty good. My favorite was the Sauvignon Blanc. The bartender was very knowledgeable about the different grapes that were used to make the wine and I felt like she did a great job at making us feel welcome. I would love to come back here to try a red flight soon and then hopefully a glass of wine after I just didn't have time on this past visit this would be a super cute girls night or even a date night spot before or after dinner read more

The server was excellent, very hospitable and had knowledge of the correct order to serve the wines selected. The wines were top notch, of course, as we expected from Arizona wines. I did enjoy the selection of $6 glasses of wine they had available- it's a nice option if you don't want to try the tastings. Tastings are available in options of 3 or 5. Purchasing 2 bottles can cover the tasting price for the option of 3. They had valentine's charcuterie still which was a nice touch and we enjoyed it. The woman working couldn't have been any nicer. She was helpful with making recommendations and nice to chat with. My mom sampled wines using my Tucson Foodie voucher and enjoyed all of the tastings. An amazing recent discovery. Came here for a Tucson Girlfriend's event and was really impressed with the local wine knowledge and general customer engagement. Prior to this visit I was not a fan of Arizona wines. Michelle, our wine specialist, tells me that I just hadn't been served the right ones. I don't normally drink white wines but I have recently been exploring since being here (California native here). I can't tell you what I drank but it was one of the most interesting and unique whites that I'd had since tasting a Jurançon back in 2005. It did have the word 'orange' in it. After telling Michelle that I leaned more toward heavy reds she then poured me THE BEST red wine I had ever had in AZ. I was sold on bringing a small snobby crew of wine enthusiasts who swear allegiance to California and Washington grapes. The store feels oddly like being in a cellar with windows, cool atmosphere and layout that reminds me of Bar Crisol across town. There's a small side room that you can rent out for private events, I'd venture to guess 12 max people. You can bring food but there is a small selection of typical wine accompaniment snacks available. The parking situation can be a little challenging on the weekends due to the outdoor market but not super terrible. Looking forward to returning and trying more of the wines now that my eyes have been opened to the curated possibilities. read more

I'd been wanting to check this place out for a while, I'm happy I finally stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed my experience. The person behind the counter was very knowledgeable on all the wines they have. Very pleasant and bubbly. I really enjoyed her vibe. She recommended a few wines for tasting and she was on the nose with all of her assessments without guiding me toward a particular experience. I ended up purchasing a couple of bottles. The space itself is quaint and has a bit of rustic, desert charm. The patio is sufficiently covered for Tucson heat, if just a tad crowded. The inside has a bit of that rustic charm as well. They also have a couple of craft beers to check out. Overall, an excellent experience and I look forward to going back soon. read more

I love this place! The wines are very good and the wine-istas are very helpful! They know their wines and are absolutely lovely. Dave and Michelle are gems and the atmosphere has been so welcoming since they've taken over. They have an all Arizona selection of wine and with some prepackaged treats available, many of which are locally made: truffles, dark chocolate, different types of cheese, crackers & popcorn. My book club came here on a Sunday afternoon and they had reserved a table for us and had brought our water pitchers and glasses. I also learned they have $6 wine specials, so definitely ask about them when you go. That's what I had and it was a wine I hadn't tried before. I really try not to drag local businesses; times are tough for everyone, but people deserve to know what an absolute rip-off this place is. We live in the neighborhood and have stopped in before (more on that later), so the other day we swung by to grab a bottle of our go-to white, Dos Cabezas. It's an inexpensive, easy-to-find Arizona bottle that literally every wine bar, bottle shop, and grocery store in town sells for $25 or less. AZ Wine Collective's price? $40. For a to-go bottle. Not opened, not enjoyed there, just handed over in a bag. It's $22 across the street at Trader Joe's, and at other local wine bars/bottle shops, it's never over $25. Honestly, I should've known better after our first visit. We initially stopped in for a glass of wine because we love Arizona wines and were excited to support a neighborhood spot. Then we met the owner, who explained he bought the business after following his daughter to U of A while she attends college from the Midwest. He openly admitted he "thought it would be a fun business to have, but doesn't know much about wine." That checks out. One look at the tasting menu and it's painfully clear no one here is curating anything. If the owner doesn't know much about wine, who is training the staff? No one. It's clear they can only recite the tasting notes supplied by the wineries. And the charcuterie board? Imagine paying premium prices for the same cheese you could toss into your cart at Fry's. Nothing wrong with grocery store cheese, but if I'm paying wine bar prices, I hope for something a little more inspiring than pepper jack cubes. The vibe? Picture sipping wine... in a HomeGoods. Everything about this place screams "mustard is too spicy": the décor, the wine selection, the food, all of it. Ambiance? Haven't seen her. I'm sure there's a "It's wine o'clock somewhere" sign lurking about. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. Tucson has several fantastic wine bars that know what they're doing and won't charge you 40 bucks for a $22 bottle. read more

As someone who's been to wineries in California, Virginia, Spain, Italy, Austria, and many more places, I never expected Arizona to have such a burgeoning wine scene! And what's great about Arizona Wine Collective is they pull together several wines produced around the state into one tasting room. In the aforementioned wine regions you can cover dozens of wineries in a fairly short distance, but Arizona is a big ol' state with a lot of wineries quite far from one another. The staff here is so knowledgeable and aware of AZ producers and flavors that they'll help you customize a wine flight that you'll truly enjoy. Two of their featured wineries are Rune and Brigand, and we loved the pours we tasted from both. We tried several others too (when in Rome!) and weren't disappointed - they've done a nice job of curating. This is a wonderful little wine shop! Want to taste southern AZ wines but don't feel like driving south of Tucson? This is the place! Many wineries are represented. You can order a flight and taste the wines, purchase full glasses, or grab yourself a big old 750ml bottle (drink there or take home). Friendly Emma (server) knows her wines and has an amazing ability to identify wines by smell. Dave and Michelle (owners) are quite hospitable and warm. We felt so welcomed that we returned the next day for another round, buying plenty of wine bottles to take back home. I had a wine tasting and a glass of wine. I left to get some food and I had to cash out to do so, even though I offered to leave my debit card behind for the 15 minutes on-foot round trip to the burger place. Unfortunately it seems that when I came back it was the end of Elizabeth's shift (I'm quite sure that was her name) and this older woman dressed in all white took over. I understand you may reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who seems over-served but apparently having a naturally bubbly personality and talking a lot drives that impression. I've been waiting to order a glass of white wine (having tried the reds in the flight) and then I'd be done but she doesn't want to seem to serve me. She'd interrupt and talk about bringing me water and is generally treating me like a young brash drinker, not a 31 year old who makes touring wineries and wine bars in various states and amongst 13 countries her business of pleasure. I know how to handle myself and if I felt I was making a fool of myself, I'd pardon myself. But right now I don't look the fool. It's Arizona. It's dry, especially compared to the Midwest. Of course I'm drinking a ton of water, I'm thirsty - not necessarily drunk and trying to recover. I am definitely done with the dry personalities out here, though the lack of humidity might explain that too. I'm kind of done waiting. I'm sober now and I guess I'll just drive back to my hotel. They serve wine too, local wines even....what a shame. And for the record, just because I don't look as posh as some of your clientele doesn't mean that I don't have more money than them. For them, this is a special night out. And for me, this is just a day of the week. Maybe keep that in mind when dealing with people. I'd like to add that I was there for around 3 hours for my equivalent 2 glasses of wine, it's not like I was off my "rear-end." Maybe you treating customers with some respect instead of using demeaning terms that imply I'm younger than I am when serving me my water while I'm eating would do you well. If I'd known that's how you were going to treat me, I would've just eaten at that other restaurant and not gotten takeout to come eat at your random establishment and drink water. Response: Considering there's at least 6 restaurants within walking distance that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. And yeah, you know what? After 2 glasses a wine. I shouldn't drive especially when I had an eaten since 11 AM and it was now 5 PM. Once I had that Burger and fries. I was fine. I just needed to eat, girl. And I have to question if you would have thought this had I not made the statement about not driving but to be fair, Tucson is a terrible city to drive in anyways so being sober has little to do with it. Not to mention that your colleague who served me in the first place is the one who recommended that I order food AS TAKEOUT so I could continue to drink it this establishment. Had she not recommended that I wouldn't have done that (seriously WHY would I? I'm so confused by this from you). Yeah, no, that's actually not typical to have to cash out to leave an establishment, believe it or not, a lot of places are actually quite trusting. It's fine if you aren't, but don't make that seem like that's a normal thing. Like I get why you wanted it, but it favored me in the end because I didn't have to wait for you to stop ignoring me to leave. I also attempted to order something else multiple times and you kept interrupting me. Get your story straight, especially the part where you quote me saying "I'm sober." It's a wine bar, nobody is sober. That's the point and that's (normally) all people would receive from a wine bar. Lucky me, all I got from you was tap water. Went for the first time with my husband as we heard they were hosting a fundraiser for PAWSitively cats, an amazing local organization who helps cats. This is a very cute spot in St. Phillips Plaza, with lots of comfortable seating inside and a very cute outdoor patio. We were immediately greeted by the bartenders who were very friendly and helpful. Their menu is full of Arizona wines from various parts of the State. When I advised of my preferences they made an excellent recommendation, and let me know I could make a donation to the cat rescue with my purchase as well. They also had a special where I could taste 3 premium Arizona wines with vegan friendly hors d'oeuvres for $25, with $13 going to the cats. In addition, 10% of the cost of all full bottles purchased would be donated to PAWSitively cats. I had a glass of Sweet Adeline, a Willcox riesling, which was amazing. Loved the warm, open and friendly environment. They allowed me to try a couple of other wines to make sure I loved the wine. I purchased 4 bottles, and a special bottle, Arizona La Osa, from Callaghan vineyards, a Grenache, aged for 18 months, which was also amazing. They have various events and fundraisers and have classes for people interested in learning more about wine, with the next one taking place on New Years Eve. Love to see when a business supports a great cause, and definitely plan to be back to support this amazing spot. read more

My favorite thing to do it meet friends for delicious glasses of wine and chat about life. We head out to the patio and sit next to the fire pit. Wine and wine bars can be so easily stereotyped as being stuffy, boring, and all sorts of "makes me sleepy", and this place does nothing to help refute that argument. With the Arizona wine story still in its adolescence, being written by trailblazers and entrepreneurs, it's a shame that a place like this is the best representation most of those vineyards have. The ambience is lacking, but tries harder than the energy of the staff. If you order a charcuterie board, be forewarned that they will literally pull a Boar's Head pre-packaged Lunchable out of the fridge and make you plate it yourself (for $18). The flights are reasonably priced and they are knowledgeable about the wines and what you might like based on your personal preference! I also try to stop by for a local bottle as a hostess gift. We have also been wine club members for over a year. There are 3 options - red, white, or mixed. I do the mixed because I like it all! Pete, the owner along with his wife have created a tasting room to explore all Arizona Wines that you couldn't taste here in Tucson otherwise. Not only is Pete personable and knowledgeable about the wines he presents, the wines are of good quality. They also have beer to taste for those who are not so crazy about wine. These guys get it! They pick the best of the best to have their guests to taste. The tasting list changes every couple of days which makes it another reason to visit again and again. They even have a private room to reserve to bring 15 to 20 of your closet friends to enjoy. They also have a menu from Reforma and Union if you'd like to order food and it gets delivered to you! How amazing is that!!??? I love how businesses and the wineries come together to help each other to succeed. That's a type of place I love to support. My friend and I went here this past week, my second time and she had never been. Zach warmly greeted us as we walked in. He asked if we'd been in, and my friend said she hadn't so he explained a little about the business and what they are all about. Zach was very knowledgeable and able to answer the many questions we asked him! I want to give a shout out to him for doing a great job. I honestly love this little place, the interior is warm and welcoming. The patio is beautiful! They have a fairly good selection of AZ wines to choose from. Great service. Some snacks are available and if you want more than a snack, some of the restaurants in the plaza will deliver!!! Therefore, you can have the food you want with the wine you enjoy. I would recommend trying this for a date night!! Or if you're too busy to make it down to the Sonoita or Wilcox wineries, this is a fun alternative. Local love! they have wines from most of the AZ vineyards and have a few AZ beers on tap. They host tastings from AZ vineyards as well. They only have some snacks but you can order from any of the nearby restaurants that all have amazing food. I really like the wines that come out of Sonoita.
