I don't even drink and I'm here all the time for the events. Run clubs, post yoga hangs, ladies nights, you name it, they've probably hosted it. Always packed, always a vibe, and super LGBTQ friendly. They bring in local vendors constantly, hair tinsel, mini tattoos, permanent jewelry, press on nails, makeup, even pajama pop ups. It's like a rotating showcase of Tucson creatives and I love that. Bonus points for the stocked bathroom with a full freshen up moment. Being in St. Philip's Plaza doesn't hurt either, one of the prettiest spots in town. The owners get it, the energy is right, and whoever runs their events deserves a raise. I'll be back... again and again.

Old Pueblo Cellars is serving up a some great unique wine varietals like Malvasia Bianca, tannat, malbec, Cabernet, Syrah and other unique blends like their Super Tucson. The wine tasting room is a bit small and but has a personal charm of southwestern themes. The outdoor patio areas are great to view the local landscape and take in the warm weather and watch the occasional thunderstorm. Also check out their wine flavored slushies when available.

But then again it makes since when it's 110 degrees outside and going wine tasting. After taking a brief tour of the property, we went inside and were greet by the nicest and most compassionate woman you could ever meet... Next to my wife of course. She was friendly, gave us the history of the winery and shared with us what brought her to work at Old Pueblo. We were there a little over an hour sharing stories; how we met our partners, what's fascinating about wines and what makes Old Pueblo unique. The wines were delicious; 100% organic and prepared in a way where you enjoy every sit and get every bit of the flavor as intended. This is definitely saved on our list of wineries outside of California that we will be going back to. Just got to plan the next road trip.

My wife and I were warmly greeted by Jordan who seated us and presented both the wine menu as well as the dinner menu. We opted to start with a shared 5 different wines for tastings as we had never tried Los Milics wines. Two whites a rose' and two reds were on the tasting menu, we enjoyed each one independently and with Jordan's recommendation opted for the smoked carrots and homemade Focaccia bread with olives as our appetizers. For dinner we shared the Steele trout that was perfectly prepared with seasonal vegetables. With dinner we both picked a favorite wine to accompany our meal. The staff is overly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in understanding the various wines grown at their vineyards in Elgin. So impressed and happy with the new restaurant. It was around 8:00 PM, and there is only a couple of people already dining. Upon being set, our server filled us in on the background of the restaurant. Apparently the restaurant is owned by a winery nearby. That being said, we decided to share the tasting flight since I'm not big on wine. The wines were all pretty light, and as I figured, not for me. We ordered the smoked carrots appetizer, and after a few minutes, also added the focaccia bread of the day. I can't remember the exact name of the bread, but it had jalapeños and peppers and cheese in it..lots of flavors, Big and fluffy and pretty good. The carrots also had the smokiness to them that they advertise and were soft yet still had that crunch you like. We were big fans of them. For the entrées, we got the swordfish, which was me doing something different, and the steak Frites. The swordfish came just as I expected, very unique and flavorful. BAAABIIEEE THAT STEAK THOUGH!!! it was amazing, so scrumptious and flavorful! The best I've ever had! We were talking about it all weekend, and even tried to go back on Monday with family, only to find that they were closed :'( Staff was very accommodating and friendly while we were there. We got two desserts, the basque cheesecake, which was good ..however, I was really sad that I couldn't get the caramel one in the example menu that they showed me at the front. The ice cream of the day was really surprising and blew me away. When they said vanilla bean ice cream with pepita seeds and olive oil, I was instantly turned off. I felt vanilla bean ice cream was boring, didn't understand the need for seeds and ice cream, and was skeptical about why Oil would be on ice cream lol. However my husband ordered it. And let me tell you I finished that ice cream lol, it just worked, and I learned a lesson. This place has picturesque presentation, great portions, unique takes on quality foods, and clearly a very talented chef. I'm definitely coming back to try more of the menu!
