I came across southwest door refinishing. Ben was so easy to communicate with and was able to give a quote from picture alone. We chatted on the phone and all questions were answered. Ben was was excellent in communicating when they would be started and kept me up to date. Nick showed up on time to refinish our door. I learned so much especially about all the short cuts our contractors took. Number 1 they used a combo paint and primer lower quality paint and didn't do a proper prep on the door which is why the paint was failing. Nick work tirelessly for 2.5days sanding, wood filler, priming, etc. He was a true artist and such high attention to detail. He also showed up when he said he would, kept me in the loop, cleaned up, and made minor adjustments to make the door function as it should. All of which is hard to find in contractors now a days. I can't believe how in love I am with this door and the final result. I didn't even feel this way back in 2018. This was how the door should have looked from the beginning. My door now looks better than when I first bought the house. The level of care and professionalism was above and beyond. Despite being a young man who is just starting out in this business, I strongly suggest Cory for your refinishing needs. Although his response times could be a little faster (though, as I understand, someone now answers all of his calls and emails for him), his work is exceptional. I have been waiting for almost 3 months now to get my deposit refunded. They stopped responding to my calls or messages. Was never good at responding even to start with. I was given a quote of $1400 (for staining my front door) and I asked if they could it cheaper a couple of times, then Cory said he could do for $1260 if given cash. I paid a deposit of $280 to schedule the job. My quote was given by looking at the pictures. Another woodworker I got a quote from provided few more details about the door conditioning, his process and I asked the same questions to Cory (to know what his take is, since Cory didn't look at the door). Cory said I was asking too many questions and cancelled my job and said will refund the deposit. From the past 3 months, they gave a tons of reasons why the refund is not yet send (tax issues with sending back on zelle, meeting with an accident, issue with CRM software etc.) and even told a month ago that I will get the refund by the end of the day. I haven't received it after a month and neither Cory or Katya responded to any of my calls of texts. Such a pathetic way to operate a business. I will follow legal procedures if I had to, to get my refund. Update: After this review was posted and multiple delays over the following two week period (Cory was responding to my messages during this 2 week period), I got my refund after over a 3 month delay.

I used Joe for a somewhat large project, refinishing the cabinets in 2 bathrooms, a hallway built-in linen closet and a guest house bathroom and kitchenette. The quality of the actual paint job was good. Scheduling and coordinating were rough, a 2 day job turned into a 5 day job when some crew didnt show up and left 1 guy alone for a day, and another day was lost because they didnt have the cabinet hardware available and needed to order from Amazon, despite knowing weeks ahead of time we wanted soft close door hinges added. But could have lived with that. The really unfortunate thing, was cleanliness. The mess was absolutely horrible. I stressed beforehand how sensitive my wife is to dust, and Joe assured me dust wouldn't be an issue but that the paint smell could be strong. We could deal with paint smell, dust was our concern. One of the bathrooms was a Jack and Jill bathroom, with a door from the bathroom leading into my daughter's room and another into a toy room. No drop clothes were used, no plastic, they left the door into my daughter's room wide open while they sprayed the cabinets. There was literally overspray dust 2mm thick throughout my daughter's entire room. Her bedding, the carpet, the wall art, her stuffed animal collection, her lego collection. She was devastated. How do you clean lego sets with that much dust? Similar throughout the other areas... they left doors open while they sprayed, and there was so much dust accumulation that it took 3 days and over a thousand dollars to clean up between cleaners and carpet cleaners. We had to purchase some specialty filters for areas in the home to get the dust out of the air, and my wife's lungs were wrecked. They were also paid to drill new holes in the cabinet doors for new knobs. They left a pile of wood dust in every single drawer they drilled a hole for. I called Joe and he was adamant that this was not how they do things, he wants to make it right, etc. I sent him pictures, he said he would get back to me. He didn't. I had to follow up again nearly 3 weeks later asking what the deal was. He did respond, and offered me a very small refund "for the additional time spent cleaning". It wouldn't have covered even 25% of what I spent to clean up after them.
