Just moved here from the Bay Area and was looking for someone to fix my bleached, brassy, orange-yellowish hair and I came across this place on yelp and had to give it a try. I've always gravitated towards Asian hair stylists bc they understood my hair and Tatsuya sure did! From the very beginning when I made an appointment, he was super helpful. He had asked me to send pictures to get a sense of what I wanted. He was honest in what he could do. I didn't want to bleach my hair again so he told me what was possible and made it so that it was as close to what I wanted. Hair cut was meticulously done and the hair wash (seemed like a head spa to me!) was incredible. He was great at listening to feedback and made sure that the cut/color met my expectation. I love my hair so much! I haven't gotten a haircut for 1.5 years so I was super nervous. Tatsuya is amazing and super friendly. He was so honest with me and knew exactly what I wanted. We went over what I wanted to do with my bangs and I just said I wanted it shorter. With Tatsuya's advice he added face framing pieces and showed me different ways to style my hair. This is the first time I got a hair cut from Tatsuya, and the experience was amazing. I booked my appointment with him through text and got scheduled the next day. Before we began, he asked me carefully about my preference and delivered exactly what I wanted. The hair massage and wash was refresh and relaxing. You can tell that he paid close attention to every details and took the time to apply pressure to different pain points on my head. The wash ended with the warm towel wrapped in the end, which was extremely relaxing that I almost felt asleep. Then it came the cut, which was awesome. He took the time to cut my hair when it wet, and then blow dried it, and then another cut when my hair was completely dried, followed by a final touch up just to see how it looks with my glasses on. After he made sure I liked the final look, he started styling it with a curling iron, after confirming whether I like to have a straight or curling style. The overall experience was epic!! He's a one-man show and was very communicative over IG to schedule my appointment for the next day. Salon was clean and calming. Quality of the cut and the details. Tatsuya is simply amazing. He asked what I wanted and delivered. I have fine hair but a lot of it. Usually when I ask for a volume cut, I'd get a lot of layers but it would fall flat and have heavy spots creating an uneven textured look. Tatsuya fixed it. As he cuts you can tell he is checking his work throughout the process. Side note, as he washed my hair he also gives an amazing head massage. Which is nice as not all salons do that. Amazing! I've been using the same Korean hair stylist for 15 years so hesitant to switch but my friend gave Tatsuya glowing reviews so I decided to give it a shot. Appointment scheduling was easy via an Instagram message. The salon is bright, inviting, minimalist. Tatsuya is friendly and upbeat, but not chatty during the cut since he's focused. I prefer to not make small talk so it's perfect for me. He starts by getting an idea of how you style your hair, part it, any pictures for inspiration, then he makes some suggestions to see if goes with what you have in mind. He has a hair spa room, not sure if he does this every visit, but first visit the hair wash/head massage was amazing. It was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep. He finished the wash/massage with heated towels around the base of your neck and top of forehead. The cut itself was precision, he definitely takes care and attention to making sure everything is even on both sides and that the layers fall perfectly. First he does the cut wet, blow dries the hair, then finishes the cut details while the hair is dry. He also gave me some styling tips as well along the process. He even offers to curl your hair at the end if you wish. He definitely undercharges for his services relative to quality of the wash and cut. It's so difficult to find a stylist to cut Asian hair. So happy to find ARK LV and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone! read more

He exactly followed what I wanted in the picture I showed him and suited the haircut to add volume to my hair. He was very considerate before doing any drastic cut and would double check that I am ok with the length or style before he cut it. He showed a lot of attention to detail. I also got the best salon shampoo experience I've had so far. She massages your scalp and applies a hot towel on the back of your neck for comfort while your head is in the wash bowl.
