I have fine, curly, thinning hair and Nikki somehow makes it work. It's always fun catching up on life and both new and old Aveda products. My husband is also a client, first of Turner (miss you!) and later Nikki. Appointments are convenient, customer service is stellar, products are always in stock, and the raffles/sales are fun...shout out to Stephanie! If only we could talk the owners into a full service salon (face, nails, body treatments) because they clearly seem to know how to run a business!! I genuinely do not understand how this salon has such high ratings. As a first-time client, I arrived 15 minutes early for my 2:00 p.m. appointment. My "senior stylist," Evelyn, wasn't available until 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. During that wait, I was offered water once, but I repeatedly had to ask how much longer it would be because the staff kept saying "soon" without giving me any actual estimate. When the appointment finally started, I showed Evelyn a reference photo and clearly explained my daily hair routine. I told her I don't use styling products, don't heat style my hair, and simply wash it and let it air dry. Instead of cutting my hair to suit that lifestyle, she used texturizing products and spent a significant amount of time styling it. I even mentioned that I would never recreate that styling at home because it isn't part of my routine. The finished haircut looked nothing like the reference photo. At the time, the heavy styling disguised just how bad the cut actually was. The salon gave me a $20 new-client discount, and I specifically told them to apply that amount toward the stylist's tip. Instead, they processed a separate $21.18 tip. While it's not the biggest issue in this experience, it was not what I authorized. The real disaster became apparent after I washed my hair at home. The styling products had been hiding an incredibly poor haircut. The layers are uneven and completely unblended. There are obvious chunks of hair missing, and the entire cut sits lopsided. It is nothing like what I requested or what I was shown in the mirror after it had been heavily styled. I'm now left with a haircut that is genuinely embarrassing to wear and will likely require another stylist to spend months correcting. Between the excessive wait, poor communication, unauthorized tip charge, and one of the worst haircuts I've ever received, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. I absolutely cannot recommend this salon. read more

I would not recommend seeing Turner. She is a master stylist that has been with Aveda salons for decades. However being that she is a master stylist you would think she would understand what a client is trying to explain without belittling them. I have fine straight hair! If the layers are too far apart they make my hair look stringy and horrible so only layers that add movement and lighten the hair a little but not inches apart. When I had tired to explain this she snapped at me so loudly that the stylist closest to her got quiet. I was SO uncomfortable the rest of the appointment. I didn't even speak a word for the rest of the appointment trying not to cry from how rude she was when she snapped at me. Girl, you're the one who went to hair school and got the education, not me! So IF a customer uses the wrong term in what they are describing their hair and are trying to show you a photo maybe listen not snap and belittle them while acting superior. After that I never returned to this salon. read more

As I age and my gray hair likes to surprise me by appearing in different areas of my head I do still like to cover it up and pretend that I'm not in my 40's. Went for a consult, ready to drop a ton of money to go from pink and purple colored hair to a more natural blonde/light brown. The guy there instantly looked at my hair and said he couldn't get me where I wanted to be or even close. He wasn't even sure if he could get all the color out much less make me look more natural. He had no idea of what it might look like after one session and didn't even quote me, just couldn't do it! Well apparently I'm a better hairstylist than him anyway. I was able to strip the colors completely so it revealed the bleach underneath which made my hair bleached but light brown (my natural color) on the roots. So then I went to Sally's, got a high lift for the roots and then dyed it a natural blonde over and now it's a nice honey blonde and doesn't look a different color on the roots. It turned out so nice. See before/after. Will never go to this salon again. What a waste of time. I even sent pics of what I looked like and what I wanted but they had me come in just to be told the professional is incapable of doing his job! Shame lol read more

Went to this hair salon for my hair shampoo, and hairstyles Victoria has done amazing jobs! She treats consumers professionally. The only thing I have in a complaint is the price. I remember before I got shampoo that was $35. Now it is $48. I think the receptionist keeps letting me know now it is $48 even I told her I had shampoo before, which was not long ago that was $35. She says "different hairstyles have different prices!" I don't mind paying for $48, but this hair salon may have to keep the price consistent to do otherwise, customers may be confused! For my personal opinion, for local price for shampoo that is a little bit higher. Well, do you think $48 dollars is worth for shampoo for local consumers if it is worth or not, you may make your own decision. But at the end I was happy with the hairstyles because she did a good job on my hair. read more

The Parlor Aveda has a consistent high standard of excellence in the customer experience from location to ease of accessibility and quality of hair specialist. The location was fairly easy to find with my GPS system. The parking was easy to navigate including enough ADA parking with attention to detail for people with mobility limitations. The Parlor Aveda is clean, spacious without being vacuous. The interior is well maintained with a calming feeling. The hair specialist all have a high degree of respectful and professional confidence. As I meet with the specialist they designate for my appointment, I show them a photo of my desired hair style and each hair specialist certainly has the ability to create that expectation to the very best of their ability in coordination with my hair type. I don't ask for a specific specialist because I am confident of The Parlor Avedas' hiring practices and policies are far higher than my standards plus I prefer availability of scheduling to my needs. NOTE : I could request the same professional. . Price point is absolutely in line with a professional salon without being outrageous. The feeling of pleasant personalities with a drama free environment makes this the perfect Salon experience for what I look for.. The Parlor Aveda will always be there as hair stylist move around. Odalys slayed my hair. She cut it so nicely and really paid attention to detail. She gave me something I was confident to wear everyday as is, without having to do anything special to it. The only thing is that I believe she could've done a bit more with the balayage, because I didn't see too much of a color difference as I would've liked to have seen. My hair turned out amazing. My stylist gave me the run down of the different products she was putting in my hair and what they did, she also helped me understand what to do with my hair moving forward. She was also very calm and nice, it made me feel more comfortable sitting in the chair, she also wasnt too talkative but she still spoke enough which i personally like, i dont like being asking too many questions or made to feel like i need to speak a lot so this was a big plus for me. I went in for a lighter brown hair color and initially it looked good when I left the salon. However, after my very first wash, the color faded unevenly and my roots ended up noticeably lighter than the rest of my hair. I contacted the salon to let them know and give them an opportunity to fix the issue, but I never received a response. I understand that color can fade, but this happened immediately, and the lack of follow-up or customer service was disappointing. I expected better communication and accountability, especially after paying salon prices. Unfortunately, because they never responded, I'll be going elsewhere to have my hair corrected. read more

Had a color and cut. The cut was good but the color is horrible. It's exactly the color that I showed her I didn't want. The color is very dark at the bottom and lighter at the top. Went in for a last minute women's haircut, and received a trim with minor layering. (I have long thick Asian hair. ) Overall, a relaxing experience from hair wash to blow dry and styling, and left feeling very refreshed. The pricing was also very good (~$40). Would come back! read more

It's been 8 weeks and I still can't believe how bad my haircut was from this AVEDA salon. I've never had a bad experience at an Aveda Salon before and chose to give this one a try after my last hair stylist moved. I showed the stylist several previous photos of MY hair that I loved. I didn't pick a photo of a celebrity or from some book, but showed her MY OWN HAIR. I told her I would like my hair no shorter than those photos and even slightly longer would be good. I told her that I don't normally like layers because it makes my hair look thinner because I have fine hair. The photos were all of my hair at just shoulder length and a couple inches below my chin in front. She talking while cutting and all of a sudden as she was working on the right side in front by my face she cut a huge chunk so short I nearly gasped outloud. When it fell it was 2 inches above my chin line. Way shorter than I've ever had my hair before. There was nothing that could be done to put it back. I left with tears in my eyes because I had been putting off a haircut for a while due to some financial strains of the holidays and I was finally getting it cut. I was devasted to come out of a nearly $300 appointment with awful and uneven layers and hair 2-3 inches shorter than I had had shown her. It's been EIGHT WEEKS and I still have the most uneven layers and my hair is just barely getting back to the edge of my chin. I want to cry every time I try to make it look decent because looks like a butcher took hold of it. I'm hoping in the next 2-3 weeks I can get someone else to shape it up and start to get it back to some normalcy. Never again would I go there because I couldn't trust the stylists to do the job. read more

Sometimes you need to change things up, so a fresh set of eyes (new stylist) and 3 months of growth was in order. Since it's been a year of growing out my shaved style, a text was received offering 20% off services to return to The Parlor. I called and asked lots of questions to assess my current hair desires. The receptionist was extremely patient with all my ??s and was able to set me up with Brittany in less than a week. Brittany was AWESOME!! We talked about my needs (less maintenance, growing out, more natural look) and my budget. She answered all questions patiently then advised. I enjoyed a 2 hour "spa experience" as she colored, washed, trimmed then styled my hair, even making me a cup of hot tea to enjoy while color processed. Brittany expertly combined previous with new color palette in a different way that works really well for me. I will definitely ask for her again and see if we can add a little more highlights when I return. I've now seen 2 very different stylists at this salon (only because my needs have changed over this past year in Vegas). I've been extremely pleased with the salon, amenities, stylists, and results. I visited Parlor Salon - Sahara location for full highlights with Ms. Turner. She was sweet and talked me through the process. She seemed knowledgeable about what would work best. She did show me a picture of the look she had in mind and explained that the toner would help pull everything together, even though the color did look lighter than I expected at first. The salon itself is really nice--clean, organized, and welcoming. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and made the experience pleasant. That said, I was a bit disappointed with how my hair turned out. The highlights are lighter than I had hoped, and in certain lighting, I'm seeing an orange tint that I don't love. Despite getting a bonding treatment, my hair feels a lot drier and more tangled than usual. It's also breaking more and whatever product was used left it feeling heavy and greasy. The styling at the end also didn't quite give me that "salon-fresh" look I was expecting. I might need to go back to tone down the color and treat my hair a bit to get it back to feeling healthy. While the overall experience was nice, the final result just didn't quite work for me. read more

The visit was so relaxing starting off with their delicious tea, then nice introduction. Easily the BEST salon experience I've ever had! Angelina took my hair from "meh" to "OH MY GOD" or as my bestie described it "rich aunty vibes" to which i say YES!!!!!!! Angelina was super patient and very sweet the entire appointment (which I set SUPER early - so sorry!). I got a short walkthrough through some of their products she used, she was very helpful in getting me to understand what each one was for. I came in for a balayage on previously DIY dyed hair all around with e-girl style BRIGHT platinum blonde in the front like an X-men character, and Angelina's hard work set me straight in about 3 hours. I had a rave event, gym, and wedding to attend all weekend after my appointment and the bounce, styling, and overall look stayed and SLAYED the whole time! I just moved to North LAs Vega, NV from California & needed to find a stylist that can texturize my thick course long hair. I've always leaned towards an Aveda Salon because they have very good Stylist regardless of where you are at. When I visit a friend in Oregon, I go to her Aveda Salon when I'm in town. Brittney cut my hair & did a great job; I also booked my next appointment with her. I've now found my Hair Stylist & am thrilled to be @ The Parlor Aveda with Brittney, who is also a California transplant to Las Vegas. Us Cali gals seem to find each other regardless of where we are; it was nice to reminisce about CA & we are both glad for our move to Nevada; great affordable place to live. read more
