We just picked up our two kittens for a neuter, when we arrived they were outside in their kennels! After they were caught doing this we were told they "were only outside for 15 minutes"... honestly that probably bullshit. They stink of piss and we cannot bathe them right away since they were just fixed. Cannot believe this, anyone could've taken our cats and this clinic would've been none the wiser. If you care about your animals, please take them somewhere else. Literally ANYWHERE else.

I've used The Ark and other local vets over the past almost four decades in Kerrville. The pandemic era and the vet lockdown (among other critical services) resulted in an out-of-control feline population explosion in Kerr County - and my golf course neighborhood received an extraordinary number of abandoned pregnant and unaltered reproductive cats. Local animal lovers acted, with the help of our own resources and Big Fix, to trap and find homes for cats - or at least commit to feeding the hopelessly feral cats. The Ark was a superb player in dealing with the reproductive young felines. I had excellent experiences with the too many cats I brought into The Ark - no complications, good post-surgical outcomes. I feed many Big Fix bonded feral litters done by The Ark as they pass their second or third birthdays. They're healthy and past being spooked by the human surgery required for their survival. Thank you, Ark.

Dr Bannet has been our vet for years. Treats our pets lovingly and has helped us through some difficult pet losses.

    Lone Star Pet Ranch

I grew up as a "cat person"--we had a Siamese who lived to be 22. And Siamese are kind of mean. My…read moreonly interactions with dogs were with my grandfather's hunting dog, Dickie, during a two-week stay in Rhode Island each summer. Two years ago we got a cat with our boys. He's great, but he's a cat. Wally. In March 2019, we welcomed Leo, a chocolate lab. He has stolen my heart, completely. Now, at 90lbs, he even sleeps on our bed, which had you tried to convince me this would be the case a year ago, I'd have laughed. All that to say that as we prepare to go away on vacation next week, I was getting totally stressed about where Leo was going to stay. Wally...he could go in and out of the garage and survive with someone coming by every couple days with food and fresh water. But Leo? There was no way I wanted to leave him in a kennel. Along came Lone Star Pet Ranch, which we heard about from a friend who has brought her dog here for 7 years. We brought him there yesterday for a 1/2-day "Playcare" session in preparation for a week there. I could write as much below from a positive viewpoint as I wrote above from an anxious one. *Everything* about the Pet Ranch gives me confidence that Leo will be both well taken care of and also have the time of his life, like he's at doggie camp.
