Visited this business for an inspection today and was pleased from start (phone call) to finish walking out the door. The woman who answered my call and confirmed my appointment was courteous and helpful. She saw to it my concerns were addressed. When I arrive the store the staff seemed happy to see me so I didn't just do my inspection I also had the oil changed as well. Another thing that is important to me is at other establishments I was not able to see my car as it was being serviced and in the past have paid for services that I didn't receive; so I appreciated that the work area at Arlington Auto was not blocked off and that I was allowed to see my car. I also felt respected at Arlington Auto and would visit this store again. I recommend this store to all women who get anxiety when they have to take their car in for maintenance. read more

Go to Paul's for interlock...these guys are the absolute worst in every way possible. Took them three days to do one day service. And they did not call to let me know it was done..I had to call them. When I was finally able to pick up the car, they were totally disorganized, several of them were hurrying around looking lost, and I had to wait 45 mins just to get the car. Then, they had no mouth pieces and lied saying Intoxalock was back ordered...i had to put my mouth on the actual device to get it home!!! I called Intoxalock when I got home to complain, and they overnighted an entire box for free because they are NOT back ordered. Arlington also did not fax the required install completion paperwork to DMV as required. I went to Arlington because they're closer to me than Paul's, but honestly, learn from my experience and save yourself the hassle. read more

I went in for an oil change the week of May 7th. Staff at the oil change garage began doing an inspection asking me to operate different lights etc. I asked them to stop. Stated that I only wanted an oil change not an inspection. I was told by a person sitting on a stool "this is my process" in a very F-u tone, enjoying her moment of power. I responded that "this is my process" and drove out of the bay. The inspection is simply a way to upsell. I complained to a manger today (May 22) who informed me that there was a change in the operator of the oil change portion of the business. I came here for an oil change and inspection on 6/23/18. Not only was I overcharged on both, but it turns out they failed my inspection due to a non-required repair. When they told me what it was I asked for a quote, which they did not provide for a week. I called a week later and was quoted a price. Now in the intervening week, I had called my regular auto shop for a quote on the same items. It turns out that Arlington auto and tire had quoted me almost FOUR TIMES the price of my regular auto shop. After bringing it to five star auto they told me that it's not a required repair for inspection and issued my inspection sticker. If I could give this place zero stars I would!! I went in to get a screw removed from my back tire and get it plugged and asked while they were at it, if they could rotate my tires. "Ok, no problem". After waiting for about 20 mins, the person behind the counter informed me that the service tech told him they can't remove the screw because it was lodged in so deep and close to a sensor. They offered to patch it from the inside but that would jeopardize the integrity of the tire. They also informed me that my front tires were "so low" and would not pass inspection. So the guy behind the counter gave me a price of 4 new tires, $940. I couldn't rotate them because the screw was in one of the "good tires". Because they didn't have the ones I wanted in stock at the store, he ordered them and said they would be in that afternoon. I left and returned to work. I contacted a very trustworthy person I know and he looked at it and said it was not in an area that would jeopardize its integrity and he could totally plug it. He said if the screw was a little more over than it was, then yes, it would be jeopardized. He also said that yes, I would need new front tires in about 6 months and that it would pass inspection for now. He was kind enough to take my tire off for me (which Arlington Tire tightened the lug nuts way too tight that he had a very hard time removing it) and removed the screw...come to find out it didn't even penetrate the tire and did not create any issues or damage. No leaks. So next time I get an oil change, I will have the tires rotated and get new tires in about 6 months. This place is so shady and taking advantage of people and selling tires when it not needed. I am curious how many others were told this and they are ripping people off. Seems like the service tech didn't even take my tire off the rim to check. Here is a picture of the so called screw that was "lodged" in my tire and supposedly couldn't be removed without it jeopardizing the tire. One star is too much. They could not even manage to install a tire to hold air for one day! My wife became stuck on the side of the road in Maryland a day after leaving their shop. Before the install of just one Michelin Pilot Sport I gave them specific instructions not to touch the metal valve on the BBS wheel. Instead, I the MD shop showed her that Arlington had bent the valve and tried to seal it with sealant...lol. They let the car leave with no mention that the valve have been compromised. They made no mention that they applied sealant as a solution to hold air. If they just communicated instead of trying to cover up their screw up and patch it all would have been fine. I had an extra valve in the glove box if they had just asked and taken ownership of their screw up. Instead, they sent my wife on her road trip to Maryland. The tire went flat, leaving her on the side of the highway and late to her engagement. I went there to replace a tire with a slice in the sidewall so she would have a safe journey. Instead they mounted a new tire, failed to write down simple instructions, and damaged the valve. Their actions resulted in her being stuck on the side of the highway. I had a flat tire today that the dealership I stopped in at was unable to repair. I had a service change the tire for me and then I drove to Arlington on the recommendation of the dealership. I was greeted warmly by a very friendly responsive and knowledgeable young man at the counter. He Took all my information and said they would do whatever they could. He came out about 15 minutes later and showed me a huge spike that I had run over that had punctured my tire. He said they would make every effort to repair it but if not he would come out and tell me before they had to replace it. Another 15 or 20 minutes went by and he came out and said "sir you're all done". I couldn't believe they were able to repair it re-mount it and put the spare back in the trunk and all they charger me was $30. My total experience was outstanding, and I couldn't be happier. I came in for an oil change/tire rotation and NY State inspection. They directed me to their quick lube bay, and they did everything while I sat in my car. I was in and out under 30 minutes. Their prices seems slightly high but reasonable. The techs were friendly, polite,and clean. I was referred to them by a friend as I have recently moved. I previously used the same shop for many years, so making a change wasn't easy. The service manager, Courtney, came into to the shop to introduce herself. I definitely drove away with a really good feeling. Highly recommend. read more

If you value your sanity please don't use this place. Brought my car in for an oil change, due to cheap products that they had used I lost 4.5 quarts of oil. They did the oil change again a week later and My oil light came on, brought the vehicle back and yet again I lost 4 quarts of oil. At this point my engine was knocking and loosing power. The service light came on and I had to bring my car back to them. The diagnosis was a camshaft sensor that was filled with metal shavings. They cleaned out the sensor, did another oil change kept the car for over a week saying they did extensive diagnostics to the vehicle. They provided me with no documentation on the services they did, they lied to me every step of the way and sent me off with an unsafe vehicle. needless to say. I used to go all the time in the past for my car care needs. I took my mother's car there a few months ago early on a Saturday morning. As soon as I walked in and went to the desk, I was met by a friendly guy. (Forgive me, I don't remember his name..) The blonde behind the counter said without even looking at me (and was very rude about it too..) "If she doesn't have an appointment, she'll be waiting for at least two hours before she can be seen." Okay, whatever. I knew I was rolling the dice when I came here on a weekend without an appointment. I left for about an hour and came back just to check and see what was going on, as soon as I walked in, I was told by the blonde that my car hadn't been taken in yet. Having had enough of her anyway, I went and sat outside. Not five minutes later, someone is coming out to let me know my car is done. Uh, okay. I thought it hadn't been taken in yet? Everyone was nice and accommodating, except the blonde. She's rude and has very poor customer service skills and I work in a call center, so I know how one should speak to customers. She needs some lessons in manners. And because of her, I won't be going back there. Mavis is where it's at! read more

Have used them for years, and they've been pretty good, but they've lost it. Never again. Got a new set of tires, and a couple of days later, one tire was low. I put air in it, hoping for the best, and a couple days later, it needed air again. My wife took it in, they said it was a bad valve stem, which they replaced. A couple days later, the tire was low again. I called up, got a young lady on the phone, and told her nicely "This is the second time we've got to bring it back in. I really need you to get this solved." She said "Yeah.....I GOTCHA." I noticed later that she has an accreditation from Bridgestone as being a "GoldPro." Obviously, you can achieve this status without being smart enough to realize that when a customer has to return twice to try to rectify a problem, your company looks bad, you need to apologize and assure the customer you'll take care of it. I was lucky enough that I only used their service to replace the light bulb. They fixed the issue but they did something so my other light stopped working. Upon calling them, the person was rude and not not helpful. Over the past 7 months, we have used your business to replace full sets of tires on two of our vehicles. Approximately 3 months ago, one of our cars needed another new tire. We dropped the car off in the morning. You needed to order a tire and said it would be there the next business day. When we returned the afternoon it was supposed to be done, the tire wasn't there because "it didn't make it on the truck". We never received a phone call to tell us this. When the tire finally got ordered and put on the vehicle, we came to pick it up to be told that the battery on the vehicle was totally dead. After we said that was impossible because it was a new battery, you charged the battery and it was fine. We got home to realize that the lights had been left on. Since the car was there for 3+ days we have no idea of knowing how long the lights had been left on, but we chalked it up to a mistake. This past Saturday, we had a flat on one of our other cars. We brought it in Saturday morning and left it and were told we'd be called when it was done in a couple hours. 6 hours later we never received a call so we stopped by to check on it. We were told that the tire was done, just needed a patch, and that they tried to call to let us know. Both of our phones were on so there's no way that we missed the call. When we got in the car to drive away we realized the lights were left on AGAIN. I've been to auto repair places where my lights have been turned off but never where they've been turned on and left on, and I can't fathom a reason for doing this. I have to wonder if we didn't stop by to check on the car, when (or if) we would have received a phone call and if our lights would have been left on again that entire time, resulting in another dead battery. I find this ridiculous and irresponsible and it absolutely needs to be addressed with your employees. They used to be really good, I brought my car many times here, however, now everytime I bring it in for service, two more things need to be fixed and many of them are things that were done wrong. I even tricked them once, i changed my air filter and cabin filter, and when they were changing my oil the tech said your air filter and cabin filter should be changed its dirty, i pulled out the cabin filter and said does this look dirty!!! after me changing it two hours ago and driving .3 miles to your place? I told them to rotate my tires when they do the alignment and oil change. I secretly left a mark on my left back tire to see if they will rotate them and they never did, they even said they did and balanced them, meanwhile if they were balanced i would know by the weights, shortly after i got a tpms light coming on, they said it had nothing to do with the alignment to drive it 2 miles and the light will go off, well 30 miles later its still on, the tire pressures on all four tires were all over the place, i checked , front left 29 psi, front right 32 psi, back left 34 psi, back right 27 psi, only correct one was 34 psi. I also had my brake and rotors done and 10,000 miles later they told me my brakes wore out and i needed new brakes and rotors! They claimed it was salt from the winter that made them wear down and not even warrantied!!!! Granted the car has 180,000 miles but these things are normal wear and tear, its not like they need to redo the engine. They used to have great auto techs, now they hired some that have no idea what they are doing. The only one I would trust to do my car is Moose. I miss the days in the 70s when i was able to do everything to my car. oh well time to move on. read more

Poor service. I was quoted over the phone $80 for a tire mounting and balance. When I got to the garage I was handed a $180 invoice. There were a ton of hidden fees associated that consisted of work that they would not have even done. I was quoted 1 1/2 hours for a tire mount/balance and inspection. Iv now been waiting 3 hours and the kid at the desk just informed me it will be an addition 45 mins to an hour. My car has been sitting on the lift half worked on and untouched for the last hour meanwhile people have been coming and going for the same thing. The service here is terrible. I overheard The kid at the desk tell an elderly man that his rotors are designed to wear exactly when the brake pads need to be replaced and that he needed his rotors replaced. That is not true I've been a mechanic for six years and I can tell you that your rotors are designed to far outlive many sets of brake pads. Please everybody, do your due diligence before whimsically handing your hard earned money to these scammers. I will be writing a letter to the attorney general so we can shed some light on this horrible business operation and the illegal things they do. I stated I will get everything done at once, tires and oil pan. After my truck being on the lift for over an hour I was informed that my tires were not delivered and I would need to come back when they do. I sat there for 7 hours just to replace the oil pan and received a bill for over $50 more than what I was quoted as they did not add in the 2 gaskets needed in the original quote and I signed off on. Would think the garage would know they would need new gaskets if replacing something that required them, right?? Well that is how they low ball you thinking are getting a better price than what I was quoted from a different garage. Now for the 2nd time I was there to have my tires installed. After 2 1/2 hours - 1st when I was told I was all set. I go to get into my vehicle and the "New" Tires are dirty. Like road dirt dirty. Ok maybe being in the garage they got dirt on them. The Tread is more than I had prior so I am hoping they are the new tires I purchased. My Problem is when I was driving something did not feel right and I pull over. I go to check my tires and the "Balancing Bar" on my back driver tire, falls off into my hand. This bar was also a used one. I call and go back immediately. I am then told it came off the front tire.... Nope rear. I am not your average female. I know engines and have worked on my own vehicles for many years - so for a mechanic to talk down to me got pretty hairy. The mechanic said he fixed it and informed me they do not "Balance" the front tires on a AWD vehicle and they also re-use prior balancing bars. I asked this man if he was talking out of his a@@??? Especially when the front passenger tire has a balancing bar. Think about it. A balancing bar is installed by using a small hammer to set in place on the tire rim. Once removed you can not add it back onto the rim and expect it to stay when it has a prior dent from 1st use. I asked for all 4 tires to be removed and to re-balance all of them - they REFUSED - stating everything was good. I left and now have an appointment at Midas to have my tires re-balanced and to check the oil pan as I do not trust this place as far as I could throw them. Only good thing is that I have a warranty directly from Good Year Tire to pay for the re-balancing and then Good Year will subrogate to Arlington Auto and Tire for the cost. However, now riding on these so called new tires for a day until I can get into Midas could mean an alignment will be needed. More money to spend and more time lost from work. The man came out, measured my wheel size, and said he'd call me the following week after he contacted his supplier to see what they had available. All good things. Except they didn't call. I figured it got lost in the shuffle, so I called them. Three separate calls in the following two weeks, and each time I was told "Oh, not a problem. Give me 10-15 minutes and I'll get right back to you". Nothing. I'm sorry, but if you can't manage to call back a customer, then you need to rethink your approach to customer service. I took my vehicle here on many times. This time I needed break work done. The price the price to have breaks all around was completely outrageous. I trusted them because I had work done on my car there in the past.. About 3 months after the work was done. My breaks began to squeal and make horrible noises. I took my car back twice to be told the breaks were fine and not to worry. I paid over $1,200 to have new breaks all around. After taking my car to the actual dealer I found out they never but new breaks on my car they charged me to just resurface them. The dealer told me these people ripped me off. People be careful about this place. This place likes to rip people off. They do good on some things but others they fail. Just be careful when you take your car here. If you are on a strict budget don't take your car here. I will never go here again!!!! Its really hard to find trust worthy mechanics. I have been here three times so far for new tires, a patch and a leak. And during all visits my experience has been great. They were always able to take me in during an emergency. And they were also always able to fix my issues at value. During one visit when I thought I would need an entirely new tire they told me my tire could be patched instead costing me mere $10 vs the hundreds I would have spent on a new tire. Also when I came in with a leak they were able to fix it for free since I had gotten my tires there saving me yet more money. I can't speak for any of their work not regarding tires but this is the place to go if your having any issues with your tires. If you need new tires and live in the area this is a no brainer. I've been getting inspections and oil changes here for years...and now I've decided to leave a review. In September, they cracked a rear brake light during a brake fix and didn't mention it. They've been giving me the run around on a CarCo inspection for 3 weeks. I was told by different people in person and on the phone on: Sunday the 9th: the tablet is broken. Wednesday the 12th: We can't take pictures in the dark. & we can't bring the car into the shop for pictures. Sunday the 16th: we can't take the pictures in the rain Saturday, the 22: tablet is broken. Which is it? Y'all should coordinate your excuses better. 1) Brought in a tire with a puncture near the edge - was told emphatically that it could not be patched and then proceeded to quote me for TWO new tires - because of course they should match - that was approximately 4 months ago and the plug I had done to the tire is perfectly fine 2) Against my better judgment (more out of convenience) I brought my vehicle in with a tire issue. They determined I needed to replace it and ordered the tire for the following day. At this time I was told the price would be $145. When I returned to have the new tire put on, the price was now $240. When I balked at this, they miraculously dropped it to $140 plus some fees/taxes which made it approximately $170. This wasn't a mistake or accident. They will try to get away with whatever they can and then back down the price when confronted (as if they are giving you a good deal). Came in for tire rotation to alleviate some loud road noise that had come on recently. They claimed I had a bad tire bearing so replaced that. When they drove it after the noise was still present so they rotated the tires. Noise still there but in back instead of front. Great :( and it only cost me $450 bucks and four hours of my life. Oil change after that took what felt like a lifetime. To their credit, they did not charge me for the rotation and took ten bucks off the oil change. They also clamped and quieted a rattling heat shield, at no charge. Hated the waiting room, very noisy and not many seats. I don't know if I would go back. UPDATE 9/30: the manager called to see how he could make things right. I appreciate that and it goes a long way towards my opinion of the place. He offered a discount on tires but not sure if I will take them up on it. read more

I went to Arlington Auto and Tire for 4 new tires and a NYS Inspection. 2 months later the back tires were leaking. I went back for them to replace the faulty valves at which time they also installed tire pressure sensors. After this was done, the TPMS  dashboard light would not go off indicating a problem I didn't have previously. I went back so they could replace the tire pressure sensor valves. During this visit, the mechanic broke my car's lug nut, a part which had to be ordered while I waited an extra 2 hours. On top of all that, I drove home with the TPMS light still on! With a little online research, I found a manual for my model which outlined a very specific method for installing sensors which I assumed Arlington must not be doing. With the help of Jennifer, a customer rep who realized that my experience was beyond horrible so far, a master mechanic was involved to follow this manual on my next visit. Although he reinstalled the sensors properly, the TPMS light still would not go off because he said only the Dealer has the proprietary code needed to initialize the system. This would cost me $150 (plus tax!) on top of all I had already paid to Arlington so far. While things were going from bad to worse, I decided that if I had to pay the dealer for his code, I'd better replace the front tire sensors first. Jennifer ordered the parts and scheduled my next visit with the same mechanic. But something happened that none of us expected. Once he installed the front sensors and initialized the system, the TPMS light went OFF! After having driven some 30 miles each way 5 times, and spending at least 3 hours at each visit, you can imagine my relief and utter joy! Better yet, I didn't have to give the dealer $150 plus tax! As the saying goes: "If I could give zero stars, I would." I've been a customer here since 2012. Last few years there has been a steady decline in their customer service. They will try and upsell needless work and services. They will tell you that your vehicle will be ready by a certain date/time and that time will come and go and they won't even bother to give you the heads up. The latest is you bring the car to get something simple fixed and when you go to pick it up something that was in good working order prior to being brought in, is now broken or not working. They then have the audacity to try and charge you a diagnostic fee to fix what they broke. This place isn't what it used to be. Take your car elsewhere and avoid getting ripped off. read more

As an oil change place it seems to be decent but I have only been twice. However, I had one recent experience with a quote for front brakes that I was not happy with. First off they charge you $40 for an estimate which they will credit if you have the work done but if you decide not to, the money comes out of your pocket. I usually go to Mavis for brakes where they give you a free estimate. In addition, the estimate for the front brakes and rotors was $527 after tax! This included $52 slider service that I had never heard of in all the years I have had brakes replaced but they explained that it is a lubrication to the calipers to keep them from freezing up. Ok fine but this seems to be $$$ for that service. Anyway, I paid the $40 for the estimate then went to Mavis and had the brakes and rotors done for an after tax total of $265. So they seem to make a lot off the fees they charge for estimates. read more

I called Arlington Auto in Poughkeepsie and spoke to Courtney , I asked her if I could bring my 2014 Honda Accord in and have the light bulb replaced with a LED light bulb that I got after Market. She was very nice and friendly and told me sure that I could come in and someone will take care of me. I spoke to Mike, He was a Bright Young Man who did the work on my car and had a smile on his face. He told me it should not be a problem and he would replace my light bulb and install the new LED Fog Lights and Front LED Marker lights. He did a Great Job! I gave him a $10.00 tip and told him Thank you, Over all Good Customer Service at the front end desk and great customer service from the Mike the Service Man. I give them 5 Stars.
