Stopped in on Monday morning around 9:30 with no appointment. My car went back for service around 9:45. Out at 10:26 for $31.86. (Had a screw in the tire.) My husband speaks highly of this place so its really upsetting to be writing this.... I go in to get my cars alignment done and end up being stranded in their parking lot on an extremely hot day with my two young kids (2 and 7 month) due to their negligence. My car was fine until it was time to pay and i got told "the caliper piston was leaking and thats why the brakes felt weird" i replied they didnt feel weird before coming here (i know my car) So i go out to my car, start it, put it in drive and my foot literally goes to the floor as my car is rolling forward so i quickly put it back in park....my mechanically inclined brother goes to investigate and low and behold my brake hose was broken.....brake fluid all over the ground! THOSE BRAKE LINES WERE DONE 8 MONTHS AGO!!!! PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW!!!! What do i get told by people at vancleecks? That it was my fault, that i brought my car to them like that, they even went as far as telling me where i parked had brake fluid on the ground which it wasnt brake fluid....it was oil cause my car has an oil leak! I can't praise them enough. they always find time for me if I just walk in without an appointment. the only place I've ever been to that told me I didn't need an alignment after it was up on the rack and never charged me. and of course, the best free cup of coffee on the planet! read more

He seemed genuinely concerned that I had had a bad experience at his family's shop and went extra miles to let me know I'm valued as a customer. When for a oil change and inspection for my car. Arrived early, 8am and checked in. Went to sit in waiting area and watch TV. The TV has a sign if you need assistance ask. On TV was a Spanish Language station with a soap opera type program on. I don't speak Spanish so I asked if they could change channel. Manager spun around and yelled NO and walked out of room. No other customers in shop, one clerk was on her iPhone, so not busy. I have been a customer there for years, not anymore! Rude! read more

I used to rent Hertz cars here (when driving for work) but they closed that part. This is a nice local business and they are not out to rip you off, like so many auto garages. They can be difficult to get in and out of quickly, because they are so busy (everyone else must realize how valuable it is to have a tire store you can trust). They are a little more expensive than the cheapest tire sources in the area (which I think would be Sam's Club and Wal-Mart). but if you can afford it, I would strongly recommend Van Kleek's. read more

Ya know, I've had two issues with lug nut tightness in the past from this place, but I fixed it on my own after the wheels nearly fell off. With those past experiences weighing heavily on my mind, I decided to put it behind me; fresh slate kinda stuff. I needed to get my snows mounted, and I'd resigned to tightening the lugs myself to my spec when I got home. Well, it's 2016 and apparently they ONLY do appointments now. Gone are the days of first come first served. I froze my ass off for 30 minutes in 20F temps waiting for them to open. FIRST IN LINE. I was then informed that they can't mount my tires unless I have an appointment. Un-frickin-real. I am 100% done with this place. My treatment this AM pissed me off way more than loose lug nuts. read more

So fortunate to find VK's on my way from Saugerties to my hotel in Kingston -- earlier, on a super hot 95+ degree day, a warning light came on that all 4 tires were under inflated. My dealer recommended I get them checked/filled right away. The manager of VK's added air to all 4 tires within minutes of my arrival...super friendly, great service...especially late on a Friday afternoon...did I mention it was also uber hot?! I'm really satisfied with my experience at Van Kleecks. My husband and I had a rare day off, so we went together to get new tires put on my car. The man at the counter (whose name I can't recall, bummer!) asked what size my tires were, to which my husband said "duh, I should've checked," and headed for the door. The man was already outside heading to my car! He came back, recommended a tire after asking a couple questions about how we drive, and told us it would be an hour and a half because they were really busy that morning. We said we would wait, he pointed us towards the free coffee, and wait we did. Almost to the minute, an hour and a half later, our car was done. I loved the customer service: everyone was really friendly, and every question I asked was answered with "absolutely" and "certainly." The bathroom was spacious, clean (considering) and had a baby changing station. And what my husband loved most- they cleaned my wheels. Really nice touch. You get what you pay for. May be a little pricier than other chain tire/car repair places that shall remain nameless (ahem, three men on the logo- I'm lookin at you), but I'd go here over there any day. read more

My experiences with Van Kleecks Tire Center have always been positive. From my first tire-change in 2005 till my most recent tire change, they always go above and beyond what most companies would offer. Not only do you get treated like you were a proud user of their facility to knowing of what other issues the car has that they can get to see fairly quickly, I love this place. In 2005, I bought 4 brand new tires from them. With this, they told me of their services they offer include free tire rotations and free tire patching. And although one tire had a problem in 2008, they were able to replace the tire. When I went in a few years later, I decided to change the 4 together. Their policies on rotations and patching still stand today. On todays' visit, when I went in for a simple oil change, they recognized that something else in the system was desperately wrong that could give a major problem later (they noticed that I needed a new valve cover gasket). Even though I had the work done at a nearby dealer, the dealer wasn't thrilled that it wasn't done right, when I showed them their recommendation. Thanks VanKleeck for exceeding expectations. You're a life-saver. I will continue to purchase tires from you, no matter what car I ever own will be. (I wish the Yelp review system could give 6+ stars, because that's how many you've earned from this visit from me alone). read more

Very disappointed with this business. Spent considerable time researching on the web where to buy 6 new tires for my RV. This appeared to be a good deal, but when I called to close the deal they reneged on the pricing ($700 increase). Very unprofessional!!!! Horrible. I went to them for an oil change and I told them i would be driving to FL and to please check out the car. Two days later there was oil leaking all over my mom's driveway in Queens. Had to take it to a place in Queens where they said Van Kleeck's had neglected to put a gasket around the oil plug. The manager, Mark, took no responsibility. What a refreshing experience! I went in to have a tire repaired and expected them to at least try to sell me a new tire like all of the other tire places in the area. Not only did they not do that, but they also did an inspection without even suggesting any other equipment or services. Someone first recommended Van Kleeck years ago but I didn't go because the tires were about $10 or $20 more than the other places. SO WORTH the ten bucks, especially after having such bad experiences at Mavis, Sears, Sam's. They are all so friendly I wanted to work there, and the coffee really is good. read more

Clayton Van Kleeck did contact me on Monday 1/14. He was very apologetic and offered to cover my expenses and help me look for a replacement OEM wheel. He also assured me that he spoke with his staff about communicating better. I received a refund and an invoice from Armani Wheel Restorations, and Clayton says Van Kleeck's has formalized their relationship with Armani so that every interaction from now on has a paper trail and accountability from both companies. I would be surprised if this were anything but a rare lapse in customer service; judging by Clayton's quick response and my experience with Van Kleeck's for the past ten years, it is obvious that the customer experience is very important to them. I have had NOTHING but trouble with my driver's side tire immediately after going in for a simple rotation! I also heard from my (trusted) mechanic that they sent another customer out with a tire that was almost down to the rim, and the poor man could well have gotten into a serious accident if the mechanic hadn't spotted it. I have to go out and purchase another tire because of their lousy service. Avoid this place at all--and far too much--cost!! read more

I had an unfixable front flat replaced at Van Kleeck today. They didn't have the exact tire in stock, so they swapped the new tire that I bought with the older one ( less than 2,500 miles) that was on the back, so the tires on my front wheel drive car were a perfect match. Friendly, careful staff, reasonably priced tire, and a pleasant, clean, light waiting room with recent magazines and excellent popcorn. read more

Terrible service!!!! Went in for an inspection and was quoted 2-2 1/2 hours. Stepped out right away for a 1/2 hour. Waited for another 2 hours(thought I was being patient) and finally asked. MY CAR HAD BEEN READY FOR 2 HOURS. I was sitting in view of the person who gave me the time quote. You would think he would have noticed or recognized the person waiting, pacing, looking at the cars being worked on. And when I did ask I was made to feel as though I should have asked earlier. There were only 3 or 4 people waiting, how could no one there not know what was going on. Good customer service would be to know if everyone was being taken care of!!. Later I realized what had happened. Van Kleecks makes no money on the inspections so they try to deter you with the long wait time but when you're willing to wait they just do it quickly. had my suburban aligned, was worse than before. went back, they rotated the tires and sent me on my way. wth, even if that would "fix" the prob it will come back the next rotation. they got my $ and were to lazy or cheap to put the truck back on the machine to actually check if there was a mistake. never again. they had a preconceived fix as soon as i called to discuss the problem. ray smith read more
