Warning: Unethical and Deceptive Practices I strongly urge anyone considering this dental office to think twice before making an appointment. This practice engages in high-pressure sales tactics and appears far more interested in profit than in patient care. I deeply regret not reading the reviews beforehand -- many others have had similar experiences, and I now understand why. Both my adult son and I were targeted with what I can only describe as scare tactics. Despite my son's clean bill of health from a reputable dentist just six months prior, he was told he had serious gum disease and urgently needed multiple expensive procedures -- including deep cleanings, laser treatments, and diagnostic tests -- none of which were previously deemed necessary. He left confused, alarmed, and out of pocket for one of the deep cleanings that they managed to convince him he needed. Wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, I returned myself. The exact same playbook was used on me: dire warnings about the condition of my gums, an overwhelming list of treatments, and a price tag in the thousands even with insurance. I declined all upsells and requested a standard cleaning -- which was then performed carelessly and in haste. Several teeth were missed entirely during both the cleaning and polishing. It was clear that because I refused the costly add-ons, they no longer valued my time or care. I told the dentist that I was very disappointed and she said she would continue to work on me. I allowed her to work a few minutes longer but it was still evident I was not receiving even a moderately thorough cleaning. I have never in my life had a dental cleaning that was done so quickly and haphazardly. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional -- it's unethical. Patients deserve honest evaluations and transparent care, not manipulative sales strategies. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) and hope others do the same. I went in for a normal routine cleaning. After a week, I received a letter that I needed to look for another dentist. No explanation, no reason. Very unprofessional. I have a good insurance plan and money to pay for my dental work. Till this day, I have yet to receive an explanation of what happened. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

On 12/2/24 @ 12:46pm, I called Arlington Modern Denistry. I spoke with Jasmine and advised I wanted to cancel upcoming appointment. When asked if I wanted to reschedule I requested to just cancel. Was advised appointment was canceled. At 1:06pm the same day, I called Dentists of Arlington to schedule a cleaning. The appointment was scheduled on 12/19 @ 2:00pm. Upon arrival, I was advised there was no appointment scheduled. I asked how this was possible as I called to make the appointment on 12/2/24. The front office staff graciously looked into this further and discovered that my appointment had been canceled by the Manager at Arlington Dental by the name of Candis, about an hour after I made the appointment. They apologized profusely and worked very hard to fit me in to an already busy schedule. However, after an hour of waiting, I asked could we reschedule for another day. This would be better for us all. I had so many questions as to why my appointment was canceled by someone I didn't even talk with about canceling. It was canceled an hour after I called and marked as work related with a note indicating I was going to be out of town for work. How is this possible when I'm disabled and unable to work? I wanted to speak with someone above this manager, so I called your Irving support center; the only number I could find. Left a message that I had a concern with someone at one of their Arlington offices and requested someone call me back. The next day I receive a message from the Manager at the office I had the concern with. I then called the Irving center again and spoke with a young lady. Advised of my concern and she transferred me to a voicemail with no identifying information in the greeting to tell me whom I was leaving a message for a call back. Have never received a call back as of this posting. At my appointment with the new office on 12/19, I spoke with both Dr Martin and Mylinda (unsure of her position) about my concern and my desire to speak with someone above Candis. I was advised they were aware of the concern and Mylinda would "find" out who I should speak with and pass along the information. As of this posting I have received no follow-up. Is this normal for this company to not address a patients concern? I wasted my time and money going for the appointment that was canceled by someone that doesn't even work in the office and never contacted me prior to canceling to confirm my needs. It was very clear in your system that I made the appointment after canceling at her location, so why would I want to cancel? I'm sure an experienced employee, especially a seasoned manager, was able to discern why I canceled and scheduled at another office. I wasn't happy with the front office persons (Jasmine) unfriendly attitude and behaviors thus I wanted to avoid going back. That's my right as a person and a patient. I didn't need to provide any explanation. It feels like malicious and deceptive behavior by this manager for canceling my appointment. And because no one has contacted me after multiple requests I feel like this company doesn't care about establishing a trustworthy relationship with their patients. Don't have dental insurance? DO NOT COME HERE. You do have dental insurance? DO NOT COME HERE. Now, let me tell you why. I came in to take advantage of the $59 new patient cleaning and exam. I walked out after paying $225. The only thing of value was the x-rays. The cleaning was the equivalent of me brushing my own teeth (maybe even less because she flossed and then polished this varnish on it and was done - there was no actual cleaning involved). They sold (and attempted to sell) me all kinds of things and it's done in such a high pressure, "do this, do this, do this" kind of way it's as if they're holding parts of the services hostage until you agree. I was told that I needed four dental crowns (I've never had a cavity in my life but it has been a few years since my last exam). They wanted me to pay $1,300 PER CROWN right then and there. "Let's do it now, let's do it today" kind of manner. Fortunately, I declined that and sought a second opinion. (By the way, if you don't have dental insurance but need crowns, check out Simply Crowns in Garland! EXTREMELY affordable!) After resigning to the fact that I had no options (before finding Simply Crowns) I attempted MORE THAN ONCE to make an appointment to get two crowns done and it took WEEKS for someone to call me back. I am grateful for the delay because it gave me an opportunity to find someone else. I also sought out a second opinion regarding crowns. Guess what? I needed two crowns and two FILLINGS! They were trying to sell me $2,600 worth of services that I didn't even need. If they had their way I would have spent $5,200 THAT DAY and who has that just sitting around?! I will absolutely not be back and have been warned against dental practices like this (anything with the word "modern" or chain-like dental practices) by other people with inner workings of the "dental world". When asked for a copy of my records three times after I was told they would be sent to me I was told wait since they had other patients to tend to. I had a great dental experience at ARLINGTON MODERN DENTISTRY. My first impression was the office is super clean, it makes me feel very save. Second the office is fully equiped with the latest medical/dental devices. Dr. Keller uses the latest technology, the most advanced technology. Dr. Keller offers the same-day crowns. She uses the advanced, digital 3D camera for the optical impression and a special software to map the surface of the tooth for a precise fit. Dr. Keller's office has the milling machine for the restoration. Because all of these new technologies are together in one place, the beautiful and perfect crown is done just in one visit. Besides the new technologies Dr. Keller is an outstanding dentist. She is very carrying and very detail oriented dentist with a very warm personality.
