There's an older kid side as well as a younger kid side and we've explored both while here. The couple of times we've visited during the daytime, it's never too crowded, which I like. We came for an evening play date once and there were certainly a lot more people, but my son still got to get on what he wanted without a wait. The park also has nice sand volleyball courts, basketball courts a small running trail and a nice sized little fishing pond. One of the best things is that the bathrooms are located in the center of everything so there's easy access and they are typically pretty clean as far as park bathrooms go. Definitely one of my favorites !

There are multiple activities to do at this park for a fun experience. They offer a children's playground with slides and swings as well as a playground for the smaller kids. They also have tennis courts and a sand volleyball court too!. There is a small fishing pond here with a pier where you can try your luck and cast your line. There are multiple pavilllions with BBQ grills scattered all throughout the park. In the park, they have a small skatepark where you can practice your latest tricks on your skateboard or roller blades. There is also a splash pad here too that is open to the public during the summer months. They provide a parking lot here with ample parking, so parking should never be an issue. This is a great park to get outside and get some vitamin D, whether you're taking a walk or just letting the kids get loose. When planning a birthday party here, reservations are not required, but is a first come, first serve basis. They have a bulletin board here where you can check out the latest events the city has planned for upcoming events and any questions or concerns you may have with Mansfield City Parks.

I had a terrible experience at the tennis courts today when a teenager--approximately 13 years…read moreold--rode his black bicycle right onto the courts, completely disregarding the fact that people were playing tennis. He stayed there for a long time, deliberately weaving back and forth between the families and players. When he was told that there were rules and that riding bicycles inside the tennis courts was not permitted, he began hurling insults and laughing, declaring that he would stay right where he was and that no one could tell him otherwise. He mocked us, pointing out that there was no security or manager present in the park. The families and players were ultimately forced to leave. It is unbelievable that one cannot use the park facilities without these future delinquents causing trouble! Is there a manager available at the park or there a contact number to report these incidents?

I was surprised at first, but then I saw all the upgrades they've made since I was last a member. Great upgrades. The walking track has been painted, the smaller fitness room with the cardio machines has been laid out better, and they made an amazing weight room in the second gym. I was just astounded at the work they've put in to make this place more functional over the years, and way better equipment. For $75 annual, or $100 starting October 1st, you get two fitness rooms, a real indoor walking track, workout classes, an upstairs strengthening room, and the nicest front desk staff. That's less than half of what you'd pay at the gym. I can't believe I had been wasting money at a gym for less features and perks. Keep up the great work!

We paid $100 for a family annual pass since we are Hurst residents. The folks working the front desk are always very friendly and helpful. The gym seems to be kept in good condition and I frequently see them cleaning different areas. Antibacterial wipes to wipe down the machines after you use them are readily available at pretty much all times, you never have to go very far to seek any out. I've never had any issues with broken machines. It's also much less busy than some of the other gyms in the area, which I love. They do not have a sauna or pool or any fancy equipment (for example; prone leg curl, v squat machine, hip thrust machine etc) but they have all your basic machines, plenty of cardio machines and a turf area with a sled pull. My one gripe is that I wish they had better hours. They close at 5:00pm Friday and Saturday, and are closed all day Sunday. I got a gym membership somewhere else to supplement some of the other stuff and the days the Hurst Rec was closed, but I ended up cancelling it because I just had a much better experience at the Hurst Rec and ended up using Sunday as a rest day anyway. It's no frills but it gets the job done, and for the price, it's pretty hard to beat.

It seems to have plenty of parking, a nice walking path with multiple workout sets up along the way (monkey bars, pull up bars, and a bench that I noticed), and sports options and kid friendly play areas. I even saw someone riding a horse while I was sitting at a bench enjoying my food; there are houses, some with barns with horses near the park. Overall, good experience. I would definitely recommend the park.

He also said it has just been completed and since not many people know it's ready it isn't as crowded as White's Branch Park. There is a tennis court, baseball field, basketball court, play equipment and splash pad (open Memorial Day to Labor Day, everyday except Wednesday starting at 10am). My kiddo was so excited to play today and no one else was here, so fun. I know by writing this review it'll attract more kids but that's okay, there's plenty of room for everyone to enjoy this space :)

Plus, it's located next to the Haltom City Rec Center so you have access to indoor basketball courts (though I'm not sure if you have to be a resident to use them). This park is almost perfect, till you see some areas that were either abandoned projects or vandalized equipment. But overall, the rest of the park is great.

Their lessons are coed, which may or may not be an intimidating factor. Personally, I tend to like plenty of exposure to testosterone...........but that's just me. Group lessons are an hour long, twice a week for four weeks, and very reasonably priced. I am in my fourth series and always look forward to group lessons. The tennis instructors are extremely personal and create relationships with all their students. To supplement my group lessons I also use their ball machine, an inexpensive private lesson for beginners like me. They also cater to the more advanced player by offering tournament and league play, as well as group lessons. If you are looking for a way to meet new people or if you are looking to get serious about tennis, this is the place!

However the day of the event was such a disappointment. The steaks were super inconsistent-- some of us had rare, some of us had medium rare, and I had a well done piece. My cousin was struggling to cut his chicken florentine because it was so dry. The biggest offender was the salmon and rice... everyone who ordered this option received UNDERCOOKED RICE! Rice is one of the hardest things to mess up, especially if you use a rice cooker... The bread and butter that was served was dry and unmemorable. It's sad when the appetizers outshine the main dishes. The fruit plate upon seating was well presented. The Beef Wellington (A+ chef's kiss) and coconut shrimp were the saving grace of the event. The pork potstickers were just okay. We had paid drinks as an option, but I don't drink so I asked for a club soda. It came in a plastic bottle and it tasted like plastic. Outside of food, the ballroom provided us a projector. The AV team didn't seem super knowledgeable as it took 30 minutes to get the video AND audio up and going. Overall it wasn't the best in terms of food and the projector, but the room itself was great and the appetizers provided something to remember. Nonetheless, I'm grateful we had a place to create memories for my grandfather's 100th. Highly would not recommend this place for a wedding though unless you're looking to be disappointed.
