Our initial walk through went well, we were excited and thought we selected a company that would get us through...we were wrong. The work started, we were still living in the home During but were assured it was no problem. Our home (inside and outside) was treated as a construction site (trash left throughout our home, cigarette butts outside, paint wash off poured in our front yard (killed grass). On several occasions workers that were sent to our home early in the morning came smelling of Marijuana. Spoke with Mike Baker in reference to the unprofessional workers along with the fact we have children (which he has seen numerous times) that he would send workers under the influence to our home on multiple occasions. Once the work was some what completed we did a walk through to address things that were incomplete or needed to be fixed. There were several things poorly done (looked rushed or sloppy). Somethings were fixed and Mike made excuses about the home being older for others. (At this point we were over it). We were told that things we spoke of at the walk through were not on the proposal. (I take responsibility because I should have ensured that things were written out VERY SPECIFICALLY) The proposal was written in a some what general manner (he did that well and got us there) . Then, the things that could not be completed (hanging bathroom cabinets and light fixtures) he took off $100 but then added over $260 for (2) ball joints fixed on closet doors and kitchen cabinet hardware (2 cabinet doors). I'm not sure if this is his company standard or the fact that we are women as the reason for such a horrible experience. I will NEVER use him again and have already told co-workers not to waste their money. As I am purchasing another home...I will not be using Baker Home Solutions. BE AWARE

We did this based on an excellent experience in our previous home in Annapolis, MD where they did a large basement renovation project for it. They helped us install a beverage refrigerator in a wet bar, put recessed lighting into multiple rooms, and installed ceiling fans. The work was extremely well done. We also had them do all the work while we were away and we came home to the work 100% finished and the project areas spotlessly clean. During the entire process our project manager communicated clearly via email and text messages about our project. Their communication and professionalism is unmatched. If you are looking for a contractor to assist with a renovation, remodel, or addition, I'd highly recommend you contact Bohan Contracting!

SLOPPY and INEPT…read more Run, do not walk AWAY from Bohan Contracting! For 2.5 years we have been dealing with this inept, insulting, incompetent company. According to several subcontractors, Bohan was a good company initially, but they became greedy and took on too many projects. According to subcontractors in the area we have consulted with, superior Annapolis contractors refuse to work for them, in a few cases calling out their "designer" Jaime Esposito in particular. Bohan parked a huge dumpster in our driveway, insisted that we be out of our house in early January 2022, though the work on our house didn't start for MONTHS. Bohan's trucks from other parts of town would arrive nightly to dump their garbage. Bohan's workers told us they weren't allowed to dispose of refuse in the other neighborhoods in which they were working. That speaks to the consistent mistreatment of us and another family on our street who hired Bohan, judging our neighborhood to be not worth prioritizing. They are still not finished with either project! They've left us twisting in the wind -- but have had no problem collecting money from us. We were told we would be out of our house for 5 - 6 months and it turned out to be almost 16 months! The cost was almost TWICE their quote. Bohan's workers barely spoke English, were sloppy, didn't measure anything and were completely unskilled. On one visit to the site, they had to find a child who spoke English to even be able to communicate with us. Every subcontractor Bohan hired appeared to be the bottom of the barrel. Every day we find mistakes and poor workmanship. It was, and continues to be, the most depressing and disappointing experience we've ever had. They refused to compensate us for any of the aggravation they put our family through. We ended up sleeping in the workshop of our carpenter son, who was unable to work for the entire 15+ months we were forced to stay there. The architect/engineer DAMES Design, who we had great hopes for, left out items such as the water heater, found egregious errors in Bohan's work (including going over her head to hire a different engineer) but then told us WE had to pay her an extra $2000+ for dealing with it! Avoid DAMES Design! Advice before renovating your house -- HAVE A LAWYER on hand to read the contract first and to be ready for litigation.

I was driving down Branch Ave. and saw a Roy's Painting van and took down the number. I can't speak on Roy because I only dealt with Ginger and she was pleasant. She was a little late showing up for my estimate but I didn't mind since I work night shift and it allowed me to sleep a little longer. The price she gave was $100 less than my first quote so I went with Roy's. The painter, Oscar, showed up on the date on time, removed his shoes and was very respectful of my house. He arrived before I got home and discussed the project with my dad before getting started. I was just getting off work when I arrived 30 minutes later and he kept the noise down since I was sleeping in the next room. The paint job was very neat with no paint dripping anywhere. I wanted the room, including the ceiling and doors to be painted blue and the trims all white. I deducted 1 star because he painted the baseboards white but all the other trims around the doors and window sills blue. It may have been a miscommunication on the part of my dad who told him, "She wants the whole room blue" and it doesn't look bad so it's no biggie. I would definitely use them again if Oscar is who would be painting.

We have a two-story house and the first quote we received was 2-4 hours plus a flat rate for carpets. After the President of the company, according to his card, who was onsite for cleaning, saw the house at 9am, he quoted 5 hours to finish everything (2pm). At 2pm then, he said, 1 more hour. They "finished" at 5pm. We didn't move in until two days later, when we had a chance to do an in depth look and see the job they did. We paid for the full top-to-bottom move-in service which included deep cleaning and kitchen appliances, but saw the following problems before anyone else even set foot into the house: -Dirt marks on the walls -Balls of dirt and crud on 'cleaned' carpets -Hairs in the shower and sinks -Dog toenails in front of the fireplace -Dust on most doorframes, window blinds, and air vents -Hair in drawers and on floors -Airfryer untouched/not cleaned -The carpets smelled like dogs -Most of the window sills were absolutely filthy, covered in dirt, dust and grime. (We paid extra for windows as well) -The carpets may have been washed, but there's no way they were vacuumed, as after walking around barefoot, the bottoms of our feet were filthy. It was after 5pm, (when the business closed), so we called him back the next morning. We explained everything we saw and even informed him that we even took pictures for him. He was rude, very defensive and refused to believe or take accountability for any of the problems. There was no apology, no offer for correcting any issues, or any reasoning with him to come to any type of solution. He then told us he wasn't going to do anything about it, because it was after 48 hours since it the "cleaning", and since we locked the house after they finished, it was our fault for not noticing the issues then.

I dont know if it was just a rush job or they just dont want to do the extra step, but they need to learn what the machines do. After cleaned, there were little balls of wet dirt and hair around the room, which they just left there. This happens if you dont vacuum carpet before washing it. They need to learn that machine vacuum is supposed to vacuum dirty water and not meant for solids.
