They still don't have compatibility with the NC Quick Pass and back in May of 2024, they removed the human toll takers. No more cash and they now bill by plate which ends up being twice as much as if you had a transponder. A month after my trip, the bill for $10.50 arrived. It would have been $5.40 with a PIKEPASS. I'm not sure if they'll still extort out of state residents the same if when they eventually add compatibility with the North Carolina system. $10.50 for 86 miles works out at 12 cents per mile. Ad yes, that's a lot but middle of the road (pun intended). Asking the internet for comparisons... the Kansas Turnpike is generally 6 to 9 cents per mile. Ohio is 6 to 9. Indiana's stretch of I-90 is 10 to 12 cents per mile. The Illinois Tollway is 15 to 30 cents per mile but Illinois shouldn't be the example - those folks are "scorched earth." The most expensive are the crazies at the Pennsylvania Turnpike who run at 25 to 35 cents per mile. Would I drive it again? Yes. Will I moan about how much it costs? Also yes. Despite receiving a regular bill and staying in good standing on tolls that align with my travel. First excuse was it was related to the tribal tag, second excuse was well you had a different transponder when your windshield was replaced, finally you did not have an updated address, despite having the current address associated with the vehicle on my drivers license, and updating it at the toll agency when I relocated from Missouri to Oklahoma. While the customer service was friendly, the outcome is the same. I've been screwed out of $220 due to the ineptitude of the agency..

There is virtually no way to track a medical package and no way to get someone on the phone or via email who can answer questions. This agency is completely broken and is unresponsive as I go into my seventh month of being grounded and not earning an income as a corporate pilot--especially distressing after serving in the Air Force for over 30 years. Yet proof again that government is not the answer and this division of the FAA needs to be privatized! I am completely disgusted with this ineffective, unresponsive, unprofessional division of the FAA.

The agency completely denied and grounded me for something that none of my flight instructors,…read moredesignated pilot examiner or doctors can agree with, even doctors who themselves have decades of experience in aviation. I asked them for a full medical narrative of why my alleged condition should be disqualifying and their response was the same generic language they previously sent both me and probably a countless number of other pilots who have fallen victim to their overbearingly low tolerance for medical conditions. I asked them for a statement of demonstrated ability (SODA), which is a fly along with an examiner who evaluates your performance, and they didn't even respond to this. My flying was just fine before this happened and would have continued to be so if I had known about their practices beforehand, which I'm left believing are not based on true medical principles but rather draconian legal policies that, ultimately, make aviation less safe. In my experience, they're not looking towards bringing out the best health in the pilots of America, but rather any excuse to sweep you under the rug and feign an apology. If you're a pilot, you're liable to be stripped of your career, finances or dignity if you don't properly plan your approach towards medical certification. I was stripped of all three.

Later I told them again and that it's one of the most dangerous withdrawals you can go through and they last longer. Laid on the holding cell floor for hours sweating and freezing. They asked me for a urine sample and asked if I was suicidal, I said no and after another handful of hours laid out on the floor begging for help someone finally came for me only to take me to the suicidal pod. They make you get naked and put on what they call a turtle suit. It's a heavy green garment they make you wear and they won't even give you a cup. The next morning they literally threw their brown bag special of stale muffin cake or cornbread. She hit me with it so hard the bag busted open. The next day a doctor came to evaluate us and I even mentioned to him that I need my Effexor. We told him we were not suicidal and he crossed out our faces. So for 3 or 4 days I was so sick and ignored. Finally got up to a cell and had my first arraignment only to demand my med. I started to get the hang of things only to be attacked in my cell. A homeless tweaker that had already attacked someone else by kicking her in the face and biting on her.She tried to come at me earlier in the day but that evening she punched me in the side of the head and forehead about 5 or 6 times. I was able to get in a sitting position where she proceeded to punch me in the back of the head another 10 times. My forehead hit the floor, busted open and she gave me whiplash from pulling my hair back. Blood was everywhere and she wasn't going to stop till they came in. All they offered to do was take xrays that I never got the results from and not once did I hear an xray machine make a noise. I ended up in a single cell because I had a violation a few days prior but wouldn't tell me what that was about. My eye immediately started to swell and blacken. It was spreading instead of getting better. I've learned a few things in life and I knew it was blood pooling. It's an indication of head trauma and a possible TBI. I filled out a sick form because I was concerned with having headaches as well. I still have double vision. Nobody ever came to check on me. I was there almost a month and they couldn't even get my asthma meds right. I didn't mind the single cell because I was safe. Took them 4 days to put me in the striped outfit and still couldn't tell me about the first violation. They act like they are running a prison and we all have killed someone. I hope 90% of the staff does not get transferred to the new jail because in no time it will end up just like the old one. There was a guard that accidentally spilled a few trays and that food was on the floor for 4 days. Absolutely disgusting and they hire the most worthless people I have ever seen!

I went…read moreonline to do as much research as I could to figure out what I needed and what time to arrive. I read through all these Yelp reviews as well. It's easy to complain of course when things don't go your way or if you don't come prepared. I showed up at 7:10 am. They open at 8 am. I went early cause of what I read and I'm glad I did. They separate you into lines of test takers and those who are not. After they do that, they send those home from the test taker side that they can't get to for today (they took 10). Then the other line, they give you a ticket number and explain to come back after the 3rd text. My 3rd text came at like 8:40 so not too long at all. Now to do the eye test and get the paper I need for the Tag Agency. The people working here were straightforward and explained the process well. The reason why it's 3 star for me is simply just the building itself. But overall, if you're prepared - you shouldn't run into any issues. I was expecting the worst and will be out of here way sooner than I anticipated. Hopefully this will help anyone else from out of state trying to get their OK ID! Edit - so I ended up having to wait until about 11. But that being said, I was able to knock out everything I needed. The staff were very kind and helpful to me and those around me.
