I was in a very unsafe position on an extremely busy State Highway and unfortunately because of the time at night it was I was told it would be a very long wait close to 1 and 1/2 hours. The driver realizing that the area that I was in was in fact very dangerous. Got to me sooner than expected. I am extremely grateful for that, because the whole time I was sitting there I was just waiting for the first careless or drunk driver to hit my non-moving vehicle and literally kill me. And no there was no safe place to stand outside the vehicle. The driver was a very cheerful, considerate and intelligent person. He informed me on the proper way to tow my vehicle, which I didn't realize there was a proper way to tow my vehicle. He kept the conversation upbeat and cheerful, which is a very good thing and a high stress situation and trying to figure out how you're going to get a particular vehicle repaired. If you can't do it, yourself is very stressful. Also, he could see that I was overheated and offered me cold water which I find extremely unique as no other tow truck driver has had that much consideration for me and I am an older woman. Just a side thought, I am very thankful that I pay for the roadside hazard insurance. I believe on my insurance it cost me an extra $12 a year and considering that an average tow bill can run into the hundreds I believe that that is money well spent.
