I have driven to multiple shops and shopped around where I bought guns and ammo but was I impressed with this location. They are in the mist of changing ownership and becoming Modern Warriors. I like it! As soon as we walked in they were so helpful and had vast knowledge of the their guns and supplies. If you're a gun enthusiast this is the place. They have classes and shooting range with 20 lanes. They have merch and all the gun accessories for those who are building one or just updating yours. They offer custom design services and have a gunsmith available. Needless to said it could be your one stop shop! To start, this is now Modern Warriors Nashville- What an amazing gun store/range! I'm a 1911/2011 guy who competes frequently... and this store along with the Franklin location have the very best selection I have ever seen. Very rare, and high end pistols you just can't find anywhere else, incredible selection of rifles, suppressors, and gear; and the friendliest most professional staff with incredible customer service. So I've had come here before a few times years ago. This last time was different. They didn't offer the safety class I did every time I came in in the past. It was with a few years in between each visit so I assume that's why I had to do it. No this time, the guys asked us if it was out 1st time, they have a form you fill out in the iPad and tent the guns and buy the ammo/targets. They give you a very brief instructions on the gun toy selected and let you roll out to your lane. Easy and fun. No fuss. Overall we had a lot of fun celebrating our anniversary and we found something we like to do together. read more

Dakota is the bomb! It doesn't matter if you're a beginner- just a take a class with him. You won't regret it! I came in as a non-confident/ not good shooter, and I left as someone that actually now enjoys shooting and can properly hit a target. I'm amazed at the progress I made in just this 1 private session with him. I already have my next session with Dakota booked and will then most likely move on to group classes. Dakota is very patient and has a way of explaining things real well to where it just "clicks". You can tell that he loves what he does. As for the facilities- Nashville Armory is as nice as shooting ranges come. Everyone I've met has been real nice and helpful. read more

We came here yesterday for a session and the hospitality couldn't have been nicer. I haven't shot a gun in ages and the rest of my group was just as inexperienced but the staff was extremely patient and kind to us. Even our neighbors in the lanes next to us were willing to help us out in a jam (literally). We rented a pistol and a rifle (forgive me, I don't remember which ones) and were given a tutorial on how to release the magazines and reload ammo. It took a couple of tries but we got the hang of it. We received 250 rounds of ammo which we didn't even get through during our 60 minute reservation. A kind stranger let us shoot his AR-15 towards the end and it was quite the experience! The gun itself was pretty heavy and the recoil was strong. You could smell the gunpowder and feel the heat on your face. But boy, did I feel powerful! I would definitely return if I swing back to Nashville. read more

This is a review ~5 years in the making. If you're looking for a place to buy a gun, nothing more, nothing less, than this is the spot for you. You'll be able to go in, purchase something, and then leave. If anything goes wrong once you head out the door, you're SOL. I purchased a Kimber Micro Carry about five years ago, and right from the get go we noticed issues every now and then with extraction. Took the pistol in a couple of times and the sales reps (not gunsmiths, not experts) claimed to be unable to reproduce the issue. Even going to far as to suggest that we were shooting it wrong. Knowing that we weren't going to achieve anything more from any more conversations with them we moved on and just kept the gun as fun for the range. Fast forward to today: head in to talk to a manager about selling them the same Micro Carry (had to go in as the gentlemen on the phone said I needed to come in to talk about it, would have been nice to just take care of it over the phone instead of sitting in the car for an hour) and the Manager said "I'm gonna pass. Seen too many issues with extraction on those things." Now I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it's been a minute, but it strikes me as too much of a coincidence that the same issue I'm seeing (that they didn't) is now a good reason to either not offer anything, or offer a lowball number. And that's fine: they can buy whatever they want, it's no skin off my behind. But all of this does inform my decisions going forward. If I'm not going to get decent service, and I'm not buying into a location that's going to stand behind the product they sell, than there's no reason for me to spend extra money. May as well go to a big box store at that point, right? It also gives me pause in the other firearms I've bought there and had to bring back with this or that issue: did they see the same thing and just didn't want to deal with it? That's where my money is. So why two stars instead of one? Well, you can buy things there. They let you do that, and are happy to sell you things. But it's the bare minimum, not over and above. read more

I recently purchased a Daniel Defense M4v7 from a website that needed to be shipped to an FFL. I called Nashville Armory to see if they could get their information over to the website in order for it to be shipped accordingly - per the websites request. When I called the extension, it went straight to voicemail. I called back and the guy who picked up another extension explained that it was the other way around, the website must reach out to them in order to be in communication. That's fine. I then inquired about another related-topic about their suppressors, sights, and DD accessories. I could hear the guy talking to one of his coworkers on the side, absolutely ignoring my questions. After I was finished, he hung up in my face.. nice. I was recommended this place HIGHLY by a buddy of mine who's got quite the arsenal, so I had to give it a shot. I'd assume this business is a good place to shoot & shop, but their customer service was a bummer. read more

These guys have always been super cool with me. If no one else is around, they'll let me stay overtime. If they're busy, don't expect that to happen. Being an idiot, I put a round in backwards. They were very kind to repair the problem for free on the spot, and it took a few minutes. While learning to shoot a pistol, I definitely hit above the target but they seemed to know I was doing my best and gave me a break. Ive also received some great advice from one of their people that helped my shot. Ive been here several times over the last few years. Its always been good. read more

Most workers behind the counters and at the range are really nice and know their stuff (not all though). Memberships are only worth it if you plan to go a lot, but do the math to consider if you want that or not. Prices are in line with other places in town, higher than some you can get online, but they have a decent selection at the Nashville one (Franklin a lot less). read more

Came in for a guys' weekend this past Saturday and I have to admit--Dakota, the range instructor, made this experience great. I go shooting once a year, depending on other trips that I take, so I'm not an expert, but I'm also not a novice. I think Dakota toed the line nicely between helping our group of mostly rookies out and building us up to the point where we felt like we knew some of the basics, without ever assuming we had things figured out. We came in to shoot handguns (a Glock and a Canik), a shotgun and an MP5 to give everyone the chance to go full auto for a clip before calling it a day. The prices were fair, it was easy to walk in (we came around 11 AM on a Saturday; we were told that ended up being a smart move), and I think this place would scale up well with friends who are regular shooters. I'll be back when I do another work trip in June! read more

Gun owner for over 40 years, lived in multiple states and know their gun laws. Recently work relocated to Nashville. Stopped in this gun shop to ask a few questions before a purchase and establish a relationship with a local gun shop & range like I have across 10 states prior to TN. Guy behind the counter was aloof, annoyed, zero help, and the older guy next to him couldn't be bothered to assist his inept partner...all this after I waited for other customers to clear out in order to speak to these esteemed gentleman...so not like it was busy or they were slammed. They just had piss poor attitudes and apparently aren't in business to make money. I'll never open the door to this place again. That's the thing about money, it's better spent on good service. read more

The staff seems really stressed out, even though they are mostly just standing around talking to each other or staring at their cell phones. There wasn't even a range master on the firing line while rowdy customers were doing reckless stuff. I've been to several ranges and never saw anything like it anywhere else. The little girl in there needs to learn some manners and customer service. Their website and Apple Maps say they open at 10:00 yet they don't open until 12;00 and the little girl with the inferiority complex was probably the worst person to to put anywhere near customers. I have truly tried to like this place since it is so close to me. I have used them for the shooting range, permit class, buying weapons, and gun smithing. The range is very pricey because it's $20/hr, so you're paying a good bit to reload your weapon. I have been led astray several times here. From them selling me the wrong magazine then when it wouldn't load a bullet they told me it was my gun and needed to be sent to their gunsmith. Took it elsewhere and they put in a correct magazine and it worked perfect. They have also told me a price for a gun smithing service just to get there and find out it is more. When I brought it up, I got grilled by the counter guy. All I wanted to do was bring up I was told a different price and I get treated even worst. That finally showed me this place is a joke. I'm seriously willing to drive an hour to go to a different range than shoot here anymore. Save your money, time, and frustration. DON"T GO HERE or do and regret it. read more

This review is for the Beginners Handgum privae class with Karen. Being from NYC, one skill set 99% of us civilians lack is familiarity with handguns. This 1 on 1 with with retired AF & law enforcement instructor was the perfect introduction into handgun safety and basic shooting. Karen was friendly, funny & informative. I've just moved to Nashville and was looking for a new range and gun store. The Nashville armory has a good range for rifles and handguns, and the staff is awesome. I came in to get my rifles cleaned by Bryan, he did an awesome job and mounted the optic on my new hellcat in a couple hours. While he was doing his thing, I spent time with Mason who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful on all things for my rifles. It started as a routine visit, I walked out more educated, with mods on both my rifles, and joined as a member of the range. I'm scared shi*tless of guns. I've never fired one. I've never owned one. I never thought I'd see the day where I'd step foot into a gun store. After moving to a farm, I found the need for protection imperative. After entering scores of gun shops as a gay man, I honestly felt I wouldn't survive that experience. Store after store had more hate rhetoric all over the place than guns. My heart skipped in several. A friend of mine posted on Facebook that he was at Nashville Armory for a class; so, I thought I'd try this big superstore-looking place. Boy was I surprised. I was immediately greeted with professional, non-intimidating staff. I was transparent with them about my stupidity with guns. They made me feel smart and affirmed where I was. I decided on two guns and the private lessons. General Manager Andrew Breneman asked me, "So, would you prefer a male or female instructor." When I responded that it didn't matter, he said, "Some wives are just more comfortable with females." My hearts sank, because I knew I was going to have to say, "Dude, I'm gay. I don't have a wife," and the entire store was going to pull guns off the wall immediately. As I gently said, "I don't have a wife. I'm gay. I'd prefer someone who is cool working with gay couples," he didn't bat an eye. He said, "All of our instructors love working with all people. It's funny because I got a call from a politician just before you came in going off about something and how he was there to help us. I told him, 'We're not here to be a political organization. We're here to sell guns and help people.'" We then had an excellent talk about safety and the stigmas in many gun stores. I actually left and couldn't wait to share the experience with others here. Went to Nashville Armory for a bachelor party with twelve people. Talked to the booking manager about a week or so prior to our date and he was very friendly, informative and accommodating. He emailed over a contract and asked for credit card payment and everything was set to go. When we arrived the the Armory, the staff were prepared and waiting for us. We completed paperwork on a computer, watched a short safety video and our instructor had us in the shooting range in no time. We had our own three lanes, three guns (one rifle and two handguns) and when we inquired about machine guns, they threw that one in for essentially no cost which was great. There was no time limit and we were able to shoot until we were done. One of the best parts about our experience was the instructor -- he was friendly, educational and patient. He answered all of our questions and went above and beyond. At one point we challenged him and he brought his own gun and ammo and showed us shooting techniques. The only downpart was that the machine gun kept jamming towards the end, but that was ok because we were almost done and as mentioned the machine gun was pretty much a free add on. I would definitely come back here with a group, certainly a fun time and one of the highlights of our activities in Nashville. read more

I used the indoor range and had a great experience. Military members get a discount on the range which equates to a total of $10 an hour. The range is clean and the interface is easy to toggle with and figure out. They allow pistols and rifles. They also have a tech/safety who sits in the back of the range, so you could shoot without having to worry about other shooters on the line conducting unsafe actions (which is pretty damn common on a gun range lol).
