While I called to request a sewer clean out service today, this company did not complete the service. The customer service representative stated that because we did not live in the area, she would need to write down a credit card number to be charged later. I challenged the practice because it was my understanding that it was against the law to physically write down a credit card number. Admittedly after researching it further, I found that I was incorrect, however it is a violation of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. I called ARMS two days ago to see if they could fix an issue with our shower that we had had for over two years. They actually sent some one over that day for a free assessment. Angel Martinez arrived and quickly took things apart and found the issue. He took pictures of the parts and was going to put it back together until he could return with the fix. Needed a shower head replaced and the current shower head was stuck with rust to the pipe. Made a call to this company and was told I would get a call back with a quote. Called ARMS, and I am so glad I did, I made the mistake of calling another local Company, an just like classic give plumbers a bad name, They Did, wanted to replace a whole run of Pipe, etc and I had to pay them to find out I'm going to be ripped off. I had some water hammering in my kitchen hot water, and I did everything I could think of to fix the issue. After I couldn't get it fixed I called ARMS and the man who showed up went through what I did, then fixed it by twisting the hot water shutoff (it was a little bit shut, causing the hammering). I asked him how much I owed him, and he said it was free. Granted it was an easy fix, but he drove over to my house and fixed it for no charge. I would like to give a big shout out to ARMS ROOTER PLUMBING SERVICES for a timely and professional response to our situation. We were having some construction done in our front yard when one of the guys believed the main water line to be part of a root system. Fortunately, the water line did not rupture but was deformed and stressed beyond my comfort level. There was to be a few hundred pounds of stone wall right over that waterline. I decided to have the thirty feet of copper line replaced and started calling around. Angel was the first to return my call. I explained the situation to him and stressed that further construction could not move forward until the waterline was replaced. Being that at the time, this was on a late Saturday afternoon. To my surprise he said he could be there tomorrow morning around 10:30 after he finished a job earlier that morning. I was even more surprised when he pulled up early. I had sent him Pictures beforehand of everything involved, from the meter at the street to fossette, regulator and shut off valve at the house wall so that he had a good idea of what was expected. Second, we were told simply that his work was guaranteed for one year. Third, we spoke them only once when we were informed that certain work was not guaranteed. My toilet was leaking water with every flush. I first called Same Day Service Plumbing. They said they would have to remove the toilet, replace the flange and something else. The estimate was over a thousand dollars. They said they charge by the job and not by the hour. I thought that was was too high, so I called ARMS for a second estimate. Angel did the same job and charged me for parts ($ 37) and one hour labor ($ 140) even though the job took him an hour and 10 minutes. I needed some plumbing help to get rid of some sewage odor coming through our sink and shower. I noticed ARMS Rooter and Plumbing driving down the freeway so I thought to give them a call. When I called I was greeted by the receptionist who was very helpful and said the plumbing technician will be calling right back. Within minutes I was on the phone with Angel who said he could meet me within just a few hours between jobs (fast turnaround). Angel came over and recommended my lines get snaked to clear any stuck debris or greases that may have built up and if necessary to install a back-flow pipe under my sink to avoid gasses from backing up. He snaked both areas and of course the odor disappeared. He mentioned his warranty on his work and that if the smell came back he would return at no charge to either re-snake it or install the back-flow pipe. Months later a small odor reappeared and we gave him a call. He was out same day to do a diagnostic and he scheduled us just a couple days later to install the back-flow pipe as he originally recommended. He was good on his word and followed through. The house we are renting has a very nasty sewer smell and so I was looking around through yelp for plumbers and most of the ones I called told me to call pest control before the get under the crawl space (which was Ofcourse an additional pay for us), but not angel. Angel came to the house initially for a free estimate and he figured out the situation right away. Since we rent the house, we needed the owners green light and Angel was very patient as we were waiting. He understood our situation because he has been in the business for years (i believe he said 13 yrs) and even got on the phone with the owner to explain the issue and he also gave him a discount. He fixed everything and has a one year warranty with his work which is a major plus. He is also very polite, friendly, and he truly does live up to his name like one yelper mentioned. His name fits him perfectly. I called him on a Saturday when my mom had several gas leaks in her house. He came right away and worked tirelessly INTO THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING until all the leaks were properly fixed, pipes replaced, and tested and tested again. He even helped with getting the city inspector to come approve his excellent work. My 79 year old mother called him to check her furnace which, of course, you and I know is NOT HIS JOB, but my mom thinks Angel can fix anything. Do you know he came to my mom's house and checked her furnace! I called him to fix a leak in my main waterline at my house.
