My favorite plant store, bring my daughter here and it's better than going to the park. All the plants are healthy and beautifully organized in rows. The workers are extremely friendly and allow you your free roam. They even have cute gardening gloves & shoes & some really nice quality peony/lemon/cotton soaps & lotions up by the front. I am extremely impressed with my recent visit to Armstrong. Jennifer was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about an issue I inquired about. I brought in a leaf from our avocado tree and she instantly knew the problem. She advised on what plant food to use and improved watering techniques and other maintenance for the tree. My husband and I have spent the last couple months emailing private garden designers, none of which were extremely helpful. We know NOTHING about plants. We came into Armstrong in Tustin and Sebastian was AMAZING!!! He spent over an hour with us, helping us pick out 5 plans for our patio with the right pots and soil. He is very knowledgeable and was very patient with all our questions. He explained how we need to plant them and how often to water them. It's a beautiful place to shop and always new items to choose from . Recently Roshelle the Mgr ,helped me with an online order I was struggling with to replace some rose trees and rose bushes I was searching for . She helped with setting up delivery as well and included a beautiful Rose tree I purchased at Tustin . Delivery person was awesome as well . A very nice nursery in downtown Tustin. They have a nice indoor area and well-shaded areas with the various plants, shrubs, flowers and trees. There are also pots, patio furniture, garden tools and the like. It's actually bigger than you would think from the part that faces the street. They have a good variety of all sorts of plants, so whatever type of landscaping you want to do, it seems like they have hello plenty of items that would suit your tastes. read more

I don't normally visit an Armstrong due to the prices being higher than other places.. However, I do frequently visit with serious questions about my lawn. Due to our negligence and ignorance, we left the lawn to fend for itself and that was a sorely bad idea. Taking care of a lawn requires patients, persistence, and back breaking labor. Anyone can hire a cheap gardener that produces subpar lawn results, but if you want a lush lawn, then you better get your big boy pants on. Anyway, I can go on and on about lawn care through my own trial and error, but lets talk about AG. I came here for information and I doubled checked their information online, and their advice is pretty much dead on. There are all sorts of answers you can find online, but the employees at AG give me information strictly on the local plants here that grow in Southern California. Extremely important. Whenever my yard looks like it needs maintenance, I go directly to AG and nowhere else. Other places don't have the expertise and specific knowledge of certain plants. Other places gives you general information that may or may not work. Why bother? Next time if you need serious advice about your vegetation, go directly here. read more

Armstrong's has the best plants that are hardy enough to last. Bob helped me pick out plants for my bunny buffet in the front yard. Actually, I hope the bunnies don't eat my new pansies. Bob was great and helped me put the plants in my car. He put a sheet of paper down to protect the seat. I went to Armstrong today for the Plumeria class. Was so excited about it until I found out it was outside in the full sun. Now, this is not Armstrong's fault - they can have their class wherever they want; I just am not able to be in the full sun for any length of time, especially an hour. No problem I thought. I needed to buy a few things so I would just shop. I was recently given three African Violets and they all need to be replanted. I thought I would buy new pots, potting mix, and fertilizer. I found the fertilizer no problem. I knew where the pots were so I decided to go find the planting mix. I've purchased African Violet potting mix there before so I knew (or thought I knew) what I was looking for but couldn't find it. So I went to the counter to ask for help. Granted, I know they were a little busy this morning and I didn't mind waiting my turn. I asked the gal at the front desk what kind of planting mix I could use for planting African Violets. Now, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and "assume" she is new when she asked if I was going to plant them in the ground or in pots. I've never heard of planting African Violets in the ground but maybe that's a thing - I'm no expert. To her credit, she looked on her phone to try to find it but couldn't. And again, to her credit, she called someone for help. Literally a few seconds later someone who I believe is a manager or supervisor walked up and she asked her. This gal said, "African Violet potting mix." The gal who was helping but turned away to help another customer, and the gal who said that walked away. I just stood there still not knowing where the soil was. Now, I know that customer service is dead at most businesses, but I expected a little more from Armstrong. They are usually very helpful but today was not one of those days. I was not in a hurry and if one of them would have said someone would be with me in a minute to show me where I could find it I would have gladly waited. Since no one was there to help me, I put the fertilizer back (yes, where I found it) and I walked out empty handed. I went down the street to a nursery that went above and beyond. I literally just needed to find the soil but they took the time to give me tips on growing African Violets. read more

Nice store and the Nutcracker we purchased for our neighbor was awesome.... however when asking for a bit of extra wrapping paper the "nice" lady at the counter gave my wife some serious attitude and explained that we'd better be considerate to other shoppers who may need the same. We're talking December 24th when about 99% of all people have their X-mas shopping in order. About a year and half ago we had Armstrong design and install our front yard. It came out beautiful but there are always some plants that just don't make it. We always go to the Tustin location because they are pros. Today, we brought two that had died , even though we did our best . We met Dianna when we walked in and she was great . I love coming here! We spent a good bit of money this most-recent time on trying to spruce up our kitchen nook's garden box and it was totally worth it! The lady and gentleman (two separate times) that helped us were beyond helpful, and HONEST. We asked about drought tolerant plants as well as plants that are neglect/people-tolerant (we have a history of killing succulents and grass twice). Not only did they recommend beautiful plants, but they also were kind enough to help us load our car with extra plastic protection. Their prices are reasonable and if you're a member the shrubs/plants/trees have a life-time warranty (that's better than a one-year guarantee at Home Depot and Lowe's). We even came back on the same day because we measured incorrectly and needed MORE plants -- the same nice gentleman came back to help us again! Everyone who works here is so knowledgeable and encouraging for "non-plant" people! Now every time I think about wanting to try planting something I think Armstrong. read more

Armstrong always has great plants, pots and gardening accessories but I hate to pay their prices. I can find similar items much cheaper at home depot, but for a quick fix and nice surroundings this place is great. They do offer a one year no problem return policy on their plants...just bring back the pot with the dead plant and they will replace it! Thats good customer service. read more

The customer service was horrible! I called them looking for specific David Austin Rose. The woman was so rude and gave me an attitude. She says they don't have it in stock but can do a special order. I was already aware the rose i was looking for is out of season. So I'm looking for any nursery that still have it in stock without doing the special order. She gave me an attitude. "Yeah I can do the special order. Why would the rose be out of season when I can order anytime (with an attitude)." This type of customer service is unacceptable and unprofessional. read more

This place has great feng shui. There are 4 or 5 sitting/patio areas set up for relaxing and being inspired (of course they are trying to sell these concepts too). It always feels very peaceful to me here. There are tons of flower, plants, trees, herbs, and vegetables to ponder and buy. All the supplies you might want are here (though not as cheap as Costco or Lowes). There also have statuary, fountains and other design items that are fairly priced, as I have been shopping around. Inside, there is a large and beautiful selection of healthy looking indoor/shade plants. The way things are displayed makes you want to grab a bunch of stuff. Coming here is more like going to a park or garden than shopping at a nursery. I found just the sort of stone, Japanese-inspired pagoda for the garden that I had imagined. read more

Their customer assistance doesn't exist. We were about to drop close to 2000 bucks in fruit trees and some indoor plants and waited over 35 minutes to get some help with pots. There were plenty of workers non of them helped. As a matter of fact. They seem to walk excessively fast by us so we don't have a chance to ask them anything. Seemed like a pre coordinated effort to intentionally do the worst customer service known to man kind. Will never step a foot in this miserable place and as a matter of fact none of their other locations. Not k on not enough to accept their extremely high prices? Today I purchased an orange tree and the gentleman who helped me out was very knowledgable and super friendly. My new favorite place to buy any plants, which, by the way, are guaranteed for life, I was told to just bring in the dead plant with the original receipt for a replacement. Wow! Ya can't beat that. The store is organized beautifully with many working fountains on display, The aisles have clear signs indicating the type of plants for sale. This nursery is wonderful! Not only do they always have what I need (most recently a semi dwarf lime tree) but they have the most helpful and friendly staff, too! A cpl mos ago, while looking at lime trees, I was asked if I needed help by one of the employees. While explaining the difference between two different varieties, he pulled a tiny leaf from one of the trees and squished it in his hand. The fragrance was AMAZING. I had no idea certain types of lime trees had fragrant leaves (he said they are often used in cooking) - and would never have known had it not been for his help. Then, last week, I took my son and three friends to Armstrong for help in identifying a few plants they had taken photos of for a high school biology project. After being turned away by another nursery (literally, they said they could not help students because they need to "save their resources for paying customers!" - see my yelp review of Village Nurseries in Orange), Armstrong employees Jamie and Roberto could not have been more helpful. I SO appreciated it and more importantly - so did the impressionable teens with me. It may not be the closest to me, but Armstrong is my go-to nursery from now on! read more

I ordered flowers and delivery for my Mom's birthday online - during the global pandemic! Robert responded to my initial inquiry, but Sebastian was the one who called me to finalize the order. What a nice guy! My mom received her order, the plants looked fantastic, and she was very pleased. I am so grateful that Armstrong was able to help me out with my mom's gift! Mom said that the person who delivered the flowers was also very nice. I live out of state and was concerned there would be confusion - but everything went great!
