Green Thumb Nursery was a great decision and was suggested by one of my friend...It was my first time and ill come back...They have great selections if plants, flowers, trees, decors, outdoor stuffs. Water fountains and list goes on...The price was cheaper than the other nursery that usually I go so it was reasonably priced...The workers were gem...So kind...They were so patient and knowledgeable...This place is one of the places that you can find CITRUS tree but you can bring out to the nursery and you need tell one of the employees to keep it for you aside (due to citrus quarantine). As you know bringing them out could spread problems like citrus greening disease or even pests to other healthy trees...So be cautious! Im happy that they had the tree so no problem to keep it aside till the shopping is done. Citrus pricing was great for example: 7 Gal was $79.99 plus tax and 15 Gal was $249.99. So great bargain. Inside, also is therapy...Gorgeous decoration and they were so selective about every piece they sell so it was an enjoyable shopping experience. Also, i love their return policy they have 1 year exchange or store policy and i attached it for review. I ended up buying lot of cute things that i didnt have plans to buy but its ended up another great selection to my little garden. Now that I'm old, I'm taking up some old people hobbies. Gardening is an expensive hobby, but you're supposed to get lots of food in return once you get set up. The food flavor definitely tastes better when you grow it yourself and eat it the same day it's harvested. I drop by here on a whim to see the difference between a nursery and a big box store like home depot, and there is a huge difference. For starters, they have a huge variety of natural and organic soils that you cannot get elsewhere. The staff here are incredibly knowledgeable for all of my questions too. Went here to purchase a mint plant and found myself purchasing three different varieties and also a spearmint plant! In addition, Purchased a milkweed plant getting ready for monarch butterfly season. Now is the time apparently for flowering sweet peas to be planted. For fruit trees, roses, seasonal plants, etc. this is the place to go. I do wish they had miniature mulberry plants that were smaller & more affordable. We have gone to this store for years, but recently it seems like they clearly don't want their customer base's money. Their hours are getting shorter and shorter, and today when I arrived during the hours stated online, a cashier flipped the store sign to "Closed" as we were walking up. Myself and several others were in the parking lot very confused because the hours said they were open. I'd love to support a smaller business, but hard to do so when every time I go there, they're closed. Especially frustrated when they're closing during hours they claim to be open, with several customers getting out of their cars to come in. read more

I recently got into gardening because we got a turtle and had to dig up a pond...anyways, I realized that not all nurseries, Home Depot, etc sell pond plants. So my coworker recommended this place and I went to check it out an hour before closing on Monday. The prices are pretty affordable compared to a larger nursery I checked out in OC. Customer service was great - I didn't know much about pond plants, but the gentleman who helped me gave me so much info. I love that they know what they're talking about! My turtle loves the water lettuce and water hyacinth that we purchased. Also got some mosquito fish so that was a bonus! I actually want to return to check out their other aisles. As far as I could see, they have a wide selection of plants and even patio furniture. Prices are also decent and there's coupons you can use too. I'll be back soon. read more

I would recommend this nursery for the great variety and quality of plants (3 stars). I took off 2 stars because of the employees. Besides one extremely nice young employee who works out back, all if the people who work there are extremely rude, especially the cashiers. I've been going to this store for a couple of years (or maybe more) by now, but we have bad problems with their employees who got aggressive during our visit there. This was brought up to management during the incident, but it seems a year later the same employee is harassing us, except this time he yelled saying they do not allow dogs ("NO NO NO NO NO DOGS ALLOWED". Next day, I called the location to clarify if whether the dog policy has changed or not. Gabby verified that dogs are allowed and welcome, that they even have treats for them. This is the type of location that typically offers sales/discounts if you bring your dog to the store. This is the kind of vibe they have, however they have one employee who has been singling us out and now that I know he is lying, I realize now the issue is beyond a dog policy. My partner was shaken and I am disturbed by this kind of behavior not just from an employee, but as a person in general. Now that I'm on Yelp, I realize now that their staff truly have some problematic behavior or attitude there. We were regulars (you can imagine we won't be returning in the future. Who wants to be treated that way? We no longer feel safe there), I've kept an eye out for the employee to avoid him (whether we had our dogs with us or not), but so far I have not seen him telling off anybody else about their dogs. Seems we were personally targeted. If you are planning to visit, be aware that while they welcome dogs there will be hostility from one of their employees. If you decide to go, watch out for an old white man assigned to the rose bushes. Management will not defend you. Maybe bring pepper spray in case his aggression escalates so you can protect/defend yourself I now leave this review as a precaution for anyone interested in going. Please be safe! 12/30/24 update: I voiced my grievance to vent and to get clarification on whether their dog policy has changed or not in a post on their Facebook page. I already left the group so maybe that's why I can no longer see it. If it's there, that's great but there's at least a copy of his statement here if anybody needs to refer to it. Fortunately, I took a screenshot of one of their "Digital Marketing Director" James Kricked Parr's comment who was gaslighting me for a potential racial discrimination incident with their employee who I now recognize (through the picture on their website) is Patrick. This is likely the same James P who has been responding to everyone here. Patrick has been mentioned here in complaints about his hostility/aggression so this tells me that this is an ongoing issue for him and my partner and I were NOT an isolated incident. Additionally, this also tells me if this were to happen to another customer, there's a huge chance they will disregard it like they disregarded us. Whether they are aware of Patrick's behavioral problem or perhaps this is the kind of work culture they have there, I'll take gaslighting as a refusal to investigate his behavior. It's family owned, chances are these employees have been working there for decades and they will protect their own blindlessly (either that or maybe this is how management behaves and their employees are just reflecting management's behavior? ‍ idk), even if it's a possible liability. To erase any doubt that dogs are in fact allowed in the store, I am also including screenshots of James Kricked Parr advising other people in the store's Facebook group that dogs are, indeed, welcome. The comment was written 22 weeks ago which is the last week of July 2024. One good thing that came out of this pandemic was me becoming a plant mom. After checking out some nurseries around me including the garden section of Home Depot and Lowe's, I found Green Thumb to be my favorite go-to. Offering a myriad of selection of house plants, outdoor plants, fruit trees, succulents, herbs, as well as garden furniture and plant accessories, it's a one-stop shop for every plant lover out there. Their very knowledgeable and friendly staff have helped me learn so much about plants that each time I pay them a visit, I bring with me a list of questions about my plants at home. My first purchase here is my avocado tree, growing slowly but surely in my backyard at the moment. I also got several hanging succulents - one of which was a fishhook that I'm so fond of. I managed to over-water my monstera and under-water my croton causing me to almost kill them, but with the guidance of Green Thumb's staff, they're now well on their way to recovery - thank goodness! My newest addition to the family is a yellow rubber tree, aka ficus elastica and it's simply gorgeous. I hope I can give it all the love it needs and a very long life. For new plant moms out there, I find the snake plants and pothos the easiest to care for if that helps you decide what to start with. Happy planting! read more

Green Thumb has a wide assortment of indoor and outdoor plants, and a large selection of pots and gardening tools - and even a clearance section. This place used to be my favorite nursery - but those days are gone (on top of the staff not being friendly). My most recent indoor plant purchase resulted in pests and mold, and you may be thinking "well, you should've checked before buying them," but it says something when a nursery sells indoor plants but doesn't guarantee them. Now I know better. I had over 30 plants before welcoming those most recent ones, and now I have bugs roaming my house and a really bad mold allergy, and have to get rid of my beloved plants. There is a large variety of indoor and outdoor plants at this location! The pricing is mid-range and you could spend quite some time browsing the whole place. I love the little green house with all the indoor plants- it's pretty packed with plants in there. I'm only taking off one star for some of the pricing- I picked up an alocasia for around $40 in a 10-ish inch pot. It was a bit on the pricier side, given it only came with only 1 stem) but I had a gift card from a friend for my birthday which made it feel like a great price in the end! I have a different alocasia variation (which was also $40 here) in the same size pot with upwards of 5 stems from another location. However, it doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy from this location at all because I've also seen other locations with even pricier costs to catch all the recent Covid plant lovers in the past year. I've also come back on other occasions to purchase a mini monstera here and a few calatheas. They take great care of their plants and I see them come home with minimal gnats or mites. I still isolate them (as I do all my plants) for a week and clean them before acclimating them into my home with other plants. An additional note- the location was a bit hard to find at first, so know that you weren't the only one! read more
