I used Armstrong Lock & Safe for the first time a couple weeks a go. I arrived home mid-day and the lock on my front door was not working (old) - and I was not able to open it with my key. I called Armstrong in an emergency to let me into my home. The owner arrived within 15 minutes and was able to undo the lock and get me in. I decided it was time to get brand new updated locks and the owner said he could return later that evening to install new lock, as his schedule that day was already busy. I've been a customer since these guys were in South Pasadena. They programmed my transponder key that was complicated...where they had to transplant an RFID chip from another key! What a rip off! Service guy was at our house for a total of 7 minutes. He did not replace the lock or any parts and charged us $100. $65 service fee for coming out and $35 for parts and Labor. Armstrong Lock & Safe didn't even come out they contracted to someone else. This was was not an Emergency call I had placed the call a day earlier and set up an appointment with Armstrong. This is a one-woman operation. She does perfectly good work, and she is a notary. I have used Armstrong many times over a period of many years with no complaints. Guessing from the 7/9/13 review, she may have contracted some unscrupulous independent locksmith to do that work, and in which case, she may have been duped herself. A few weeks ago over the fourth of July weekend Armstrong Lock and Safe seriously came to my rescue I was driving home from a weekend in the bay area with some friends from out of town and less than a half hour from home, I realized that I had forgotten my house keys. Since it was the holiday weekend, I called about 4-5 closed places until I was able to reach someone at Armstrong, who said he'd have someone at my house in 20-30 minutes.
