I stopped in at Antrim's to get a couple keys copied since I'm trying not to spend money at Home Depot. It was way better than a big box store experience! There are tons of options for key designs and the staff are so kind and knowledgeable. The price is not high, most keys cost $5 but there are some fancier design options that cost up to $8. I picked one of the cute ones because I like a little bit of whimsy but it's totally up to personal preference. I did not feel like I was being upsold. I tasked Carla with a rare double dead bolt for a very thick gate with very short latch. The lock was from the 60s that broke and was retrofitted. This lock no longer existed. Carla and her team managed to sourced a rare Schlage double dead bolt and her locksmith came out and installed it with a lot of retrofitting the lengths of the lock and bolts to make it work. I'm pretty sure the people of Antrim's could pick a lock. Or crack a safe! I walk into this place and they know what I need before I ask. Experienced. Smart. Easy going. Great with customers. I asked if they had a battery for my car fob (the electronic key). The man behind the counter asked a few questions about my car and in a few minutes he said he had the part to fix it. I asked can you put in the battery because I don't know how. "Yes," he said. Literally a few minutes later a woman motioned to me and said here, All done? I asked. Yes, she said. That was it. My worries about locking my car or gosh -- starting it -- evaporated. She even confirmed by telling me "I tested it and it read weak." She clearly knew her stuff. I've gone here a few times in the past to get my keys duplicated with no issues and at a great price. But recently they have gone above and beyond and have a customer for life in me. I recently acquired an old arcade cabinet for my office and I needed to change the locks on it, as I only had one key for the current lock and it used dimple keys which are pricey to replace. I did not know the diameter of the barrel of the lock so they gave me two different sizes based on the lock barrel that I brought, and told me to bring the one that I don't use back. They did this without asking for a receipt or anything. Lo and behold a friend made me realize that I don't need a lock with key, I can just use thumb locks (the ones where you twist them open) since I don't need to lock it up at the office (there's no money in it, etc). I tried the smaller barrel before I got the thumb locks and it didn't work and I somehow lost the other barrel (it was the holidays and things got crazy). I brought the one bag back and they only charged me for the one I lost, telling me if I brought it back I can get a full refund, which was absolutely fair since it was my fault. Their level of trust in a customer and willingness to go above and beyond to help a customer out is rare these days. I will come back to get my locks and keys when I need them again. read more

I contacted Antrims to have a new installation of a Schlage Smart Lock on my front door, I had the lock just needed the drilling and install. They were able to schedule an appointment within two days of my call. Dan arrived as promised and looked at the door and the lock to determine what was needed. Look no further, this team is great. I have a home that has lots of locks including Kwikset Smart locks and Schlage and they all needed to be rekeyed. Some were old and needed new cylinders, some were dirty and all in all it was a difficult and timely job. I stopped by Antrim's office with pictures of the locks and spoke to Carla about the job. She gave me a rough estimate (the high and low) and scheduled the job for the following morning. Ryan called me the following morning before he arrived to let me know he was on the way. Ryan showed up as expected, we went over the job and he started the work. The job took a good part of the day and another Antrim's locksmith arrived to assist. They worked tirelessly to get the job done and did everything I asked for. I was charged exactly what Carla quoted me and I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting it to be much more. SUPER good service! We got home from vacation and were unable to open the wall safe in which we had stashed all of our car keys. We had lost the key that allows opening the lock if the batteries on the combination lock are dead. The technician from Antrim's arrived at our house 15 minutes after we called.
