I hesitated about that but paid it anyway. The contract with Blackrock was signed on November 20th for a 6' gutter, downspout and rotten wood replacement. The time frame on the gutter replacement was 1 -2 days. By the way it's January 22 and the job isn't done, I've had to hire someone else. The new gutter was attached to an old, compromised piece of wood, the old down spout was attached to the new gutter. The old down spout was used even though it wasn't the right size. A new down spout was in the contract and had been paid for. New lumber was also in the contract and paid for. During work on the house rock salt had to be used on the concrete sidewalk for safety. The rock salt damaged the concrete; I spoke with Joshua Gordon and Thomas Barnard about all of these concerns. Both men promised everything in the contract would be taken care of including repairs to the concrete and apologized for the delay. That conversation with Mr. Gordon and Mr. Barnard was on December 29th, I haven't heard them since. It is winter and the weather definitely plays a factor, in the last 62 days there has been plenty of decent weather above 30 degrees to finish this job. Blackrock Construction has taken advantage of us, I'm guessing they thought we wouldn't notice that they were reusing old materials and charging us for new. I have asked that Blackrock Construction to reimburse me for the lumber, down spout and also pay for repairs of the sidewalk. Joshua Gordons response to my request for a refund was " Since she "let us go" we consider the outstanding balance more than sufficient for any cost she believes she has incurred". The damage to the sidewalk alone far exceeds the remaining dollar amount on the contract. A contract that was not completed. Working with Blackrock Construction has been an awful experience, buyer beware.
