When I was visiting the islands my buddy told me you have to go check out this ice cream shack. Now mind you I love me some ice cream, so I was really super happy to go check it out. It was a warm, slightly breezy day, perfect timing for a scoop of ice cream. To be honest, pulling up to the place, I didn't think it was going to be very special. I couldn't be more wrong in my life! Do not let the exterior of the place fool you, the real magic lies within. This place always has a line inside, so be ready. Plenty of great flavors to choose from, including select seasonal flavors.. If they have them you better get them cuz they will not last long! Staff was friendly, efficient, and on point. Few recommendations, but I knew what I wanted when I walked in the door. I ordered guava berry, coconut, and rum raisin. Every scoop was a brand new experience in my mouth! This was a perfect way to have a sweet treat on a warm day in December. Bottom line? You need to check this place out. Is it cheap? No, it is not. Is it amazing ice cream? You're damn right! Before going to St. Croix, I had asked a friend who grew up there for recommendations. Armstrong Ice Cream was one of the recommendations. I played it safe and ordered chocolate and cherry. The woman at the counter said I should also try coconut. All three were winners. As someone who makes his own ice cream, I can attest to the texture and slight hint of scorched milk in the flavors. Delicious homemade ice cream. We tried to go here on a day they were supposed to be open but they were closed until the day we had to leave for the airport. Made a special trip on the way to the airport just to try it. They have a lot of flavors on the board but that doesn't mean they have the actual flavors made. I guess it depends on availability. I had wanted to try gooseberry but they didn't have it. I was told about a guava berry flavor and apparently that is only for the holidays. Luckily, when we mentioned it, the girl went to the back to grab some they had left over from the Agg Fest. Once all the locals saw it they were clamoring for it too. I could tell it was a favorite of everyone on the island. Guava berry was definitely the way to go and worth the stop on the way to the airport. read more

The banana ice cream doesn't have the fake flavoring.....so it tastes great; just don't be put off by the green color. I also had a scoop of pineapple ice cream that was nice and smooth. You can taste before you buy. 2 scoops was $3.75 read more
