Popped into The Breakfast Club this past weekend for their Friday breakfast buffet, and wow, it hit…read morethe spot perfectly. Got there right around 7:30, snagged a nice window table with morning light pouring in, and dove straight into the spread. They had this killer lineup--garlic rice, longganisa that was juicy and not too sweet, perfectly fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy danggit, and some really good tapa that was tender and full of flavor. The free-flowing coffee kept coming without me even asking, which was clutch. Everything tasted fresh, nothing felt like it was sitting out too long, and the vibe inside is so chill and homey, like you're eating at a friend's place but better. Left feeling full, happy, and already plotting my next visit to try their all-day menu--heard the bibimbap and pancakes are next-level. Solid five stars, hands down.

What better way to start your day than with a breakfast buffet?…read more The Breakfast Club's cozy interior provides the perfect setting for putting things on hold in favor of a warm early morning meal. They have a breakfast buffet every Friday to Sunday which starts at 7 am and ends at 10 am. They don't have a lavish spread of items on the buffet to choose from, but they do have just the right amount of variety to keep your meal from becoming a dull repetition of viands. From my experience, they had breakfast items such as tocino, scrambled eggs, tapa, and fish fillet. They change the choices once in a while, and they have free-flowing coffee as part of the package!! So be early! If you miss the buffet, don't worry! They have lots of a la carte meals that will satisfy you as much as their buffet will.

A visually appealing, opulent cafe replete with trendy Filipino breakfast items. This one is…read morelocated on the ground level of the Century Mall in Poblacion, Makati. The guard will ask you where you are going and will point you down an outside corridor where the cafe is located. The menu here is already eye-catching as it reads like the morning newspaper. I had the *Adobo Sunrise* (php 295) and the *Yin & Yang Champorado* (php 275). The sunrise came with their apparently "famous" adobo flakes which were very much on the dryer side. The "breakfast rice" was also a touch bland even though it looked like it had garlic infused within. The champorado with a swirl of Belgian dark chocolate and white chocolate could arguably be a dessert, but I could also say the same thing about pancakes. The sweet toasted dilis/ dry fish on the side went well with the sweet rice porridge. I couldn't quite force myself to finish the entire meal and I may have lost my appetite after seeing some pernicious critters in the corner mid-meal. In any case, the cafe was decorated prettily and my food items certainly were eye-catching, but they may have missed the mark in taste some.

The service is slightly slow, but whose rushing when one is on vacation. The menu is simple, easy to navigate and looks like your morning news paper. We started our day with a cup of American coffee, we then ordered the Bacon Chicharon, it was crispy but we were not blown away. It was my main entrée, sweet spicy tuyo (served inside a jar) that made the good impression; its a classic salty fish in original sweet and spicy sauce served with fried rice and sunny side egg. it was simply delicious, freshly made and a perfect meal to start a hectic day. While my companion did not really enjoyed his pan cakes (the 'infused butter' tasted sour), I still could see myself dining here again next time!

Almon Marina is a Deli restaurant that is quite simple at first sight but actually serves the best…read moresandwiches that will surely capture the hearts (and tummy) of all hungry mall-goers. Everything in their menu is made to order so you're sure of its quality and freshness once it is served to you. I recommend their Gourment Combinations if you're having a hard time choosing between sandwich or pasta. The combinations already have a sandwich, pasta and drink included. Their rice meals are also very good, like the Stuffed Porkchop, a porkchop oozing with cheese blended together with apples, herbs and spices served with rice. Almon Marina is not hard to love especially if you're the type who likes simple yet yummy food.

I think Almon Marina was made for mothers. You would find so many of them in this restaurant…read more(mostly having tuna sandwiches) drinking coffee, tending to their kids or laughing with other mothers. The personality of the restaurant along with everything they serve fits moms to a tee and you can't blame them- Almon Marina has something they all look for (in life) and in food: consistency. Yes, everything they serve here has been consistently good through the years. Everything is always fresh and well-prepared. Their Southmall branch in particular was quite a sight to see. It's bigger than the Alabang branch, somewhat cozier but with the same homey feel that I've loved since Almon Marina came to be. I had a Reuben sandwich and as expected, my handheld meal delivered well. The soft meat with melted cheese paired with cabbage and crispy bread made every bite so memorable. So there, once again Almon Marina has given me a superior sandwich and just like all the other mothers out there, I will be back for more.
