In a small Indiana town with very little food options without having to drive to Lafayette, this place is a small gem. Although competing with Monicals Pizza (the only other restaurant I have found to be half way decent in Monticello) I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place actually was. The thin crust cheese pizza I had I think was pretty good, breadsticks were mediocre and staff was decent. The wife had a salad which was pretty large and had a ton of cheese on it which is surprising because it seams like cheese is one thing everyone is cutting back on now days. read more

The pizza here kinda looked small until you got into it. Each piece seemed to weigh a pound and had a heaping pile of sausage on it. The crust was thinner and crunchy which was good. When my wife went in to pick it up she had mentioned we had just got a place down here and the whole crew gave her recommendations on where to go, what to do etc..... They were very well mannered and nice. We thought we were going to be hungry after eating that pizza but that wasn't the case. We had leftovers to take home and share with our family from up north. Arni's is a favorite of mine - but the Monticello location leaves much to be desired. The building is always super hot and stuffy - very uncomfortable if wanting to stay and dine in. And the kitchen / food prep area is disgusting really. Always good all over the floors and from an outsiders perspective looks very dirty and messy. If I didn't love their pizza and salad so much I likely wouldn't be back. read more

We are from out of state and came here for dinner. We waited and waited but our food never showed up. When my mother inlaw asked about our order, we were told that they had lost our slip. They placed our order again but they forgot one of our pizza. It took over an hour to get two of our pizzas and then the wings. Our 3rd pizza never showed up. We had go to back to ask about our pizza and yet again they had forgotten it. I am now sitting by the register to make sure that they make the pizza. I know that they are busy but come on. The 1 star is more than what I should give due to the terrible service, however, I must be fair. The food was good. Our wait was close to 40 minutes and so, I had to check on our order. First, they said they thought our order was to go and the lady gave us 2 bags. Once we opened the bags, it was not even close to our order. Then they said, they lost our order ticket. They then took our order again. We got a portion of our order and again, forgot the 2 orders of chicken wings and another order of pizza. They apologized and gave us our chicken and again forgot the last order of pizza. We had to wait another 20 minutes, and this time, we were done. Let me say that the whole experience was unsettling and very bad. All in all, it took 2 hours or so for the entire eating experience. Needless to say, we are the most disappointed. Arnis is one of those places that you automatically associate with Indiana. Real Pizza King pizza, but people go for the salads and one of the homemade dressings. I have dreams about my junior salad with Bleu cheese dressing, cheese bread, the Texas BBQ...sigh...makes me wish I still lived in Indiana! Usually, off shoots are not as good as the original. I just picked up a couple of juniors at the Monticello Arni's, so I can only attest to that, but they were good. One of them was custom, which they did without complaints. The dressing was thick and good, the veggies were fresh. I try to explain to people why these salads stand out, but they just don't get it. You just have to try one. I like the new location-easier to get to and closer than driving to Lafayette! read more

I did not realize that I hadn't reviewed this yet! Well, again, with Monticello you have the issue of having a very slim selection of eateries so you must deal with each one's flaws or go eat at home. I love Arni's pizza and breadsticks - not to mention their chili. What really irks me is that with being one of the few established restaurants in Monticello that this location have never received a face lift - of which it is in good need of. A full carpet replacement and interior redesign is greatly needed - different booths and maybe a more private setting - maybe to look more like the great Arni's in Lebanon, IN. I would give this a less then one star but it will not let me. I called in a order and went to go pick it up and no one that worked there even ask me if I needed help or wanted to order anything. When I finally got a young man attention he just looked me. So I told him I was they to pick up got my order when home. When I got the pizza was cold it was not cut all the way threw and my second pizza was done wrong. Also my sandwich was burnt. Not ever order from there again. read more

Today was not a good experience. Ordered and was told 10 minutes for 2 lg. Pizzas and 4 orders of breadsticks. Upon entering the store and noticing a school bus out front, a line out the door, and a very hot entry, I thought this may be a problem. The 15 people ahead of me were ordering for dine in. I went to the second register and asked if it was necessary for me to stand in line as I had already ordered. She said yes and I went beck to the end of the line only to wait another 15 minutes and take my pizza home to eat it cold and 1 order of breadsticks. I guess I spoke too soon. Went on a Friday night this time (well before closing this time) and was NOT disappointed. The strombolli was FIRE. 10/10. The sweet sauce with the savory meat and high quality bread is well worth your money. Everyone was kind and we had a few laughs with the cashier. The pizza was especially good, nice and crisp. The restaurant is very outdated and is located in a tired, old strip mall. The staff does not seem to want to be there. We walked in looking lost, and they left us to figure out to seat ourselves, walk up to them to order and wonder how we were going to get our food. The pizza looked like the cheapest one you can find in the frozen food aisle with thin crust, sprinkle of sausage crumbs and green peppers served on a thin piece of cardboard completely discernible from the crust, and yet, it cost $18.00. The stromboli was not what I expected. It was cheese and sausage crumbs in french bread, not baked inside soft, chewy dough. If you like the pizza and food at Pizza King, you will like this place, but if you don't like Pizza King, you will hate this place, like I do. While finding our way to the back of the restaurant and taking a seat, we saw several tables needing to be bused. After we ate, the same tables were still not cleaned off. It's a shame that most of the pizza restaurants in Monticello are so lacking. read more

Husband and I have been in the restaurant buisness for numerous yrs. I grew up in a restaurant, learned each job, and did every job for numerous yrs. And I also was given the job of starting up new restaurant and hiring personnel. So what I seen here at this restaurant was not the horrible as some places I have seen here. Husband and I have just moved here . Because of the move , we have been to busy to cook. So there for we have eaten at some other buisness. Now I will say there floors where the customers walk , was slippery. They had grease all over from kitchen help walking around in that area. So that tells me , someone is not doing there job correctly and / or not washing enough. Floor should be washed 3 times a day! The cashier, I would hope she was new, and was still being trained. ((before she finally took r order "the trainee" was slowly rolling up receipt paper well we r standing there and more and more people coming in. The "trainer" was just standing there! Instead of taking orders or conversing with your customers or least a smile !! )) the "trainee "was so slow and not confident, and had to write r order 3 times. ( r order was : small or personal pizza w / onion, garlic, sausage, w/ extra cheese-- Arni's Cheesesteak and each a drink ) She had a hard time finding the correct buttons and counting money. Like I said earlier "trainer"was standing around not doing anything. Now I would say the employees where very nice ;except the two cashiers. So we went and sat down and matter of a few moments my pizza was being delivered. We asked the young man where sandwich was. Of course he was not aware of the full order. So he looked into, came back and said they r fixing it right as he spoke . (So we figure like 5 to 7 minutes) well 13 minutes later I walked to the front and asked where it was ? And wouldn't u know it , there it sat on the counter and no one could pick it up and bring it to the table . So Arni's had decent fast food, respectful employees . There cleaning habits r horrible, and who ever trained them at there jobs should be fired!!! No excuse why food sits and is not delivered !! None !! The owner should take a better look at his mangers! Before or already has clientele drops and loose a lot of money!! You can have great food, but if not clean and your employees do not engage in some kind of pleasantries. You will loose every time ! read more
