Not the best and not the worst pizza spot. It is quite pricey for the quality but it's fairly good pizza. The salad is absolutely not worth it. Paid $8 for a small salad and it wasn't even the correct one that was ordered. The delivery took awhile (about an hour) but a correct time estimate was given. Have been an avid Mad Mushroom buyer for years. Just ordered POTM and cheesestix for dinner. Took 1 hour and 45 mins to arrive. I actually called to check in and see if the pizza had left the store or if there was an estimated time for delivery. I was told they they were short staffed and trying to learn a new computer system so they don't know what they are doing and have gotten a lot of complaints today. My issue is with the way I was treated when I asked if there was a way they could see when the pizza left the store and how long it would take to get to me. I then informed the worker that I have a health condition where I cannot eat food that has been out past a certain timeframe and that I have never had that issue in the many years I have ordered from this store (one of the reasons I order from them). That timeframe had passed and I said that I wasn't happy about paying over $50 for a medium cheesestix because I couldn't eat the rest of the food and if there was anything that could be done considering I wasn't given an appropriate wait time. I was passed off to a manager who was ruder than rude to me and told me that it was basically my problem for having health issues and he wasn't going to do anything for me. It's also ironic that during the 8 mins I had to wait on hold to even be able to speak to someone, they were advertising for every available position in the store and the ad said something to the effect of "basically, if you are friendly and can show up to work we want you" yet the few members of the skeleton crew they seem to have didn't give two craps about keeping a loyal customer onboard. read more

Ordered from here last night at about 620p, and got delivery about 750p. Here is a high and low, but overall not super impressed with their delivery/time to receive order/food temp... Highs Price- wasn't terrible, $11 for a small cheesestick with added pepperoni and two side cups of pizza sauce. Lows- took an hour and a half, was delivered by DoorDash, and when I finally got the food, it was barely warm (the make you tip before you pay, so I should have figured it was DoorDash, but oh well) Overall an unremarkable experience, and I probably won't be ordering delivery again. read more

Mad mushroom on underwood is the best pizza in my opinion in Lafayette. It's like papa John's pizza but taste much better.

We were hungry on the road traveling back down to Indianapolis, and decided to try the Mad Mushroom! The guys working in the kitchen are super friendly and took our order quickly. We got a large half cheese/half mushroom pizza as well as an order of plain wings with ranch. The pizza was delicious! I loved the pizza sauce they use and the cheese was perfectly broiled. We thought the prices were very reasonable for a pizza restaurant. Although not the most welcoming building at first, we had a great experience and will definitely be back if we find ourselves in Lafayette again. read more

Listen... is it great pizza? No. Is it the perfect greasy, bready, cheesy dinner after a long day of a long day of hard work? Yes. With the pandemic, they are doing deliveries and takeout, and are pretty fast (we did take out on a week night and it took about 45 minutes to get to my door). The main component of their pizza is the cheese, so if you are a sauce or crust person, you probably won't really be a fan. The cheesy bread everyone recommends is... cheesy, but not anything to write home about. read more

Mad Mushroom's a middle of the road take-out pizza place. No tables available, order-ahead recommended. The pizza wasn't particular notable, but not bad either. The garlic sauce (extra sauces $0.71 each) was very tasty and creamy. On the downside, we included one pizza with no cheese and extra sauce, and ended up with cheese and no extra sauce, which was a problem for the dairy-intolerant folks among us who were supposed to have the pizza for dinner. They did offer to either remake it or give us a credit for next time (which we took) so we'll see if that happens. I wouldn't veto ordering another pizza from Mad Mushroom, but it's not something I'd go out of my way to order again. read more

BEST CHEESY BREAD EVER!!!!! I love the classic cheesy bread with their cheese sauce. My boyfriend prefers ranch/marinara/garlic. I love how fresh the cheesy bread is. I have had their pizza in the past which is good (no complaints but nothing to rave about either) but the cheesy bread is definitely worth every penny. Placed an order for a medium pizza and it took an hour and a half to be delivered. I called twice to find out where my pizza was. First time told it would be there shortly. Waited 15 minutes, still not delivered. Second call was to ask for a refund. I was told by the person on the phone that he could give me a credit, but not a refund. I explained to the person that I was from out of town and a credit wouldn't be acceptable. Again asked for refund and was told that refund could not be given without permission from owner. I asked to speak to owner or manager, was told that owner was out of town and that i was speaking with the manager. I asked the "Manager" what he was going to do, his reply "your pizza should be there shortly", with attitude. Told "Manager" that the attitude was not appreciated when he replied "I've had a busy night. A hell of a night." Explained to "Manager" that that was not my fault and didn't appreciate the attitude. I am from Chicago, IL and a huge pizza fan. I eat alot of pizza and I can tell you this pizza palor is one of the better pizzas I had in Lafayette. I tried a few local pizza places down here and was in depair because they were all nasty until I got a magnet at a party for Mad Mushroom. There is no excuse for sweet tomato sauce on a pizza. The thin crust pizza was so sweet that our pizza-loving 13-month-old wouldn't finish even half her piece. I had high hopes based on a recommendation from the hotel. However the pizza and cheese sticks were delivered at room temperature. You could tell it had been a while since it left the store. I received an email that the order was out for delivery 5:24pm and yet the driver showed up at the hotel around 5:50pm. Called the restaurant, the man who answered was very apologetic, said they have been busy and he'd send them right out. 50 minutes go by, call again and ask. A girl states, they are still on the way. Went there after a coworker recommended the cheesy bread and grinders. They messed up our cheesy bread (how do you mess that up?). Told us sorry and remade it. So we waited a little longer! Cheesy bread was really good, but can't say much for the grinders. I had Italian with so much mayonnaise on it, that it squished thru the top bun. You couldn't even taste the meat for all the mayo on it. Also bread was plain, no flavor! My husband had the Roast beef and cheese, with sooooooooo much mustard. No apology, explanation, nothing other than the one hour+ I had already waited it was going to be another 30 minutes. More than that had come and gone. I live 5 minutes away from this mad mushroom and ordered delivery, after waiting over an hour i called the store and the driver couldn't find my apartment, i told the person that took my order to make sure the driver calls me, i call the manager and he tells me he is trying to find my apartment and i told him it is extremely hard to find and that's why i wanted him to call, the manager told the driver didn't have a phone? Why would you deliver anything and not have a phone? I did not get the breadsticks ;). I know it's a big deal there, but I took a chance. Let me begin by saying I lived in NY for a couple of years and now I'm a pizza snob. I discovered Marco's near campus and it's pretty good, but they've been closed for almost a month due to a, hmm, "technical violation". So I gave this place a chance--and a chance it was considering when I called I was on hold for at least 5 minutes before I hung up and called again. I ordered a small pepperoni and a small Gouda spuds pizza (I'm not really a gourmet pizza person so this was a chance). I wound up waiting 10 minutes AFTER the 25 they suggested on the phone, and the guy told me I was getting a med pepp because he made that by accident. But when he told me the total was $20 I thought for sure I must be paying for his mistake. When I finally got my pizza (and it didn't seem like they had that many orders, though there were at least 4 guys there) it was a small cheese and a med spuds. Come on guys! Anyway the Gouda spuds was good, but no Gouda taste. It was just a mozzarella, cheddar, potatoes (and mostly they'd all gone to the middle of the square cut pizza), bacon, ham, and onion. I think I was supposed to get ranch for dipping, but that didn't happen. It would been good. The cheese was pretty bland and a bit greasy and oversauced, but I don't think it was too greasy or too sweet like some of the reviews mentioned. It wasn't a spicy sauce, but it wasn't as sweet as Papa Johns either. Oh, and the pizza was pretty good the next day cold. In the end I would go there again, and definitely get the Gouda spuds, but I'd check the pizza before I left and not be in a hurry. read more
