I have seen my new Dr around ten times and have scheduled a physical with him twice. in the two years that I have been with him he has not gotten up off his stool and provided me the service my insurance is paying for and i have yet to get a physical. I complained to him about pain in my neck and head and the response was thats weird. i complained about chest pains and instead of getting up to listen to my heart he scheduled me with a cardiologist. he has never checked my heart, lungs, feet because I'm diabetic, absolutely nothing. i finally after two years got up the courage to file an official complaint and what did they do transferred me to another location 35 min from my home and 45 min from my job and I have yet to hear anything from anyone in management from this facility or the head of the SB Clinic. either this Dr is a homophobe or he is just providing bad service to all his patients and insurance companies are getting taken to the cleaners and the SB Clinic is allowing it to happen. I would never reccomend anyone going to this facility or any location of the SB Clinic because they truly do not care about their patients.

My experience with Oak Street Health started out well. I had been seen there twice, and I had no…read morecomplaints about the medical care. They even offered transportation through my insurance, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, everything changed when I needed a simple university medical form signed so I could start my next semester. I was told they would not even consider signing the form because I had missed a wellness visit and needed to sign additional paperwork first. They said this was "policy." I then asked if I could simply email the university form to the office. I was told no--they would only accept it by fax or if I brought it in person. Since I don't have access to a fax machine, I took time out of my day to drive to the office and hand-deliver the form. After I arrived, I was told there was no chance the form would be signed that day. I even asked if the doctor could review it between patients, but the front desk immediately said "absolutely not" and would not even check with the provider. It felt like the decision was made without any willingness to help or explore a reasonable solution. To make matters worse, calling the office is frustrating because you reach a call center instead of the clinic directly, making it difficult to resolve simple issues. What should have been a straightforward request turned into multiple wasted trips, phone calls, and hours of my time. I ultimately decided to establish care with another provider who was more responsive and willing to help. I can't recommend Oak Street Health based on my experience. Good medical care should also include reasonable communication, flexibility, and respect for patients' time.

I see this as an unnecessary and risky policy--no system is 100% secure and insurance companies to not require a doctor's office to provide a copy of the patient's license with a claim--only the insurance card. I've had other places, even LARGE medical organizations allow me to keep my i.d. secure in my wallet and show it each time I come in. This place was frustratingly rigid and the 'office manager' apparently does not have a phone number that a patient can call to discuss--only an email. Ridiculous. With all the other crazy reviews here on Yelp, I figured I was dodging a bullet. But, so frustrating to waste the time to go to this office as a call-ahead, walk-in, urgent care patient and have to walk out again without getting the help I needed. Oh, and just FYI, the front desk ladies shared that an urgent care office visit starts at $350.

They had patience and took all the time necessary to answer questions or concerns. Laurie, one of the nurses was exceptional. She went out of her to assist me to the very end, walking up to the front desk to help me get all future appointments scheduled so I fully understood the next step. My situation is rather complicated but the staff at this clinic made it so much more manageable. That you all so very much. I have already recommended you to others I know.
