Arno's is a cute and small French pastry by Jasper Ave. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time and got a Hot Chocolate with oat milk, Iced Vanilla Latte with oat milk, and a chocolate croissant. The drinks were so tasty. The Hot Chocolate was rich and creamy, and the iced latte was so smooth. I loved our drinks. Service was helpful and nice. There are a couple tables inside and I really liked the cozy atmosphere. The drinks were great, but our chocolate croissant fell flat. It wasn't flaky or crispy like I hoped. It didn't really have much texture other than just bread with chocolate pieces in it. We came around 1 pm so most likely we didn't get a fresh batch, but I was still left disappointed from our pastry. From our experience, it was 3.5/5. But I'm willing to come back to try another chocolate croissant at the right time. read more

The delicate tarts, pastries and croissants are a great attraction but I've also enjoyed light lunches at Arno's. I enjoy a chai latte, but my friend said the coffee's very good, too. It's a great place to meet friends and also enjoy a walk along the nearby Victoria Promenade, with views over the river valley. read more

Arno's Fine French Pastry Inc. Customer parking is available beside the store in a tiny parking lot that's easy to miss but right beside the store. Friendly staff greeted me immediately and answered my questions about flavors. Coffee selection looked decent. Other little take-home goodies available too. Not as large of selection of baked goods as many other sweets stores but I'm hoping that means everything is fresh fresh. Only 1 couple having coffee in the store. Lots of seating - would be a nice place for a coffee date. I got the eclair and flan patissier. Eclair was lovely. Fresh cream, ripe raspberries- even a couple Inside, nice pastry that was infused with...tea? Tasted very fresh and light. Flan patissier was good as well. Egg custard centre was smooth and creamy. Crust was soft and buttery - very very good. Overall would be a great spot for a coffee date in the future now that I know there's free parking and so I can try a few more desserts and the coffee. This little cafe is in such a cute location. A bit off 116st going towards the university from downtown. I've been admiring the people sitting outside the front for a while and been meaning to check it out! Finally did last week. When we got there we enjoyed chatting with the guy working there. He was friendly and offered to wipe down a table outside for us (it had just rained) which was great. I think some of the draw to this place is being able to sit outside. I tried the salmon quiche and my partner had the pain au Chocolat. Both were very good. I loved how they came and brought them out to us! So friendly and accommodating! After we sat down there were a lot of people trickling in to sit on the lawn, which I found very endearing. My only issue was that I got a chai latte and it just tasted like milk. There wasn't enough chai in it. It was basically a glass of warm milk. This isn't enough to make me not visit again though! read more

What an adorable cafe! I was captivated by the selection of baked goods in the display case, and got a croissant to go. Hey, it's a French bakery - I simply *have* to try to croissant first. It was flaky and buttery, crispy on the outside and chewy inside - exactly the way I like it. Service was very friendly, and at another time I would definitely get a sandwich to go. They have smoked salmon! There is ample seating inside, and a couple of tables outside. I will definitely be back! read more

Cute little cafe tucked under one of the residential buildings on 116street. They have a lovely display of delicious baked goods, a rainbow of macarons to choose from, and not just sweet but savoury delights as well. This is a regular weekend spot for me (lucky it's just a quick walk down the alley). on the weekends this place is very busy so I try to get there as soon as it opens. I typically get the veggie brioche sandwich which includes roasted veggies and cheese on a croissant. My bf loves the ham and cheese sandwich which is also very tasty. I absolutely love the lemon tart, it's topped with the creamiest sweet meringue I've ever had in my life and the tartness of the lemon filling compliments it nicely. Sometimes on the way to work in the morning I grab a chocolate croissant right when they open. It's a delicious buttery treat with a touch of dark chocolate on the inside. Their croissants are flaky on the outside and buttery soft on the inside. The staff are such lovely people. It's family run and the bakery is from France. So they def know what they are doing when it come to fine French pastries. read more

The only downfall is the macarons didnt have flavour signs in front of them. There is also only 1 employee working (the owners son). Beautiful cafe with very tasty lunches. The vegetable soup and bun were well seasoned and the bun was freshly made. For dessert a lemon tart with macaron and a raspberry tart....should of had dessert first!! Don't tell everyone about this great cafe....or we'll never get a seat.... I went to Arno's for the first time today (even though this is not the first time I eat some of his delicious wares since a friend had brought some over to a dinner once). I kept it simple and bought a couple of croissants (two plain, one almond) and a meringue (one of my childhood faves). And I had to come here and write about my croissantgasm! I am French. I grew up in the suburb of Paris where we had an amazing baker (I can still remember walking past that bakery every morning on my way to school and stopping by on the way home for a brioche or a baguette to bring home) and we often bought croissants for Saturday breakfast... Well Arno's are better! I just warmed them up a bit in my toaster oven and wow. I am still eating them and I had to come on here and write this review! When I saw the sign going up for Arno's, I was delighted. I love a decadent French pastry, and to see one opening up right in my neighbourhood thrilled me. I came with my family within days of the grand opening. We came later in the day, so the selection of pastries was diminished slightly, but we were still able to get a full assortment of macarons and lovely croissants. Those paired so perfectly with a gorgeous cafe latte. I have since returned several times - alone, with my family, or for a coffee date with girlfriends. I have tried out a number of pastries. My favourite is the chocolate almond croissant. Oh me, oh my, that pastry is to die for. The staff is very friendly, remembering us from previous visits. And it's always good to see the owner of a local patisserie at your favourite fresh fruit stand at the farmer's market; it's good to know they use the best, most fresh ingredients. read more

We love both Duchess and Arno's. But Arno's is much closer to where we live. Very reasonably priced. The variety is smaller comparing to Duchess. But you always guaranteed to have a seat and there are no line ups. Very cozy and quiet cafeteria to have a coffee and conversation. We really like to help this guy to grow his business. It would be nice to have another well established bakery as alternative to Duchess. He is working so hard and treats every customer really well. Like in the good old days. Every cake is a handcrafted piece of art. Highly recommend to try out. read more

My in-laws have been talking about this place for months and we finally joined them for a breakfast treat this morning and OH MY GOD was it amazing. We had the chocolate croissants, macaroons, regular croissants, ham and cheese sandwhich, pastry with ham and cheese on top, their sunday with gelato and honestly everything was phenomenal. Even my VERY picky kids couldn't get enough. Can't wait to return and for sure it will asap. The freshness of their products, their friendliness and the cuteness of their shop is just soo perfect. This place is another hidden gem in downtown Edmonton. It is located in 116 street jasper ave. In order to see it you actually need to enter 116 street. It is a cosy place with lots of delicious french pastry. The decoration and ambience gives you the feeling that you are in a cafe in France! They played nice french music and the music was not loud but loud enough for you to enjoy. I ordered mouse and it was fresh and delicious. It seems that it is a family owned business and the owner was very nice. I recommend this place to you if you want to have a nice time with a date or friends in a nice cosy place that is not expensive at all. read more

I've been here at least a half dozen times now since they opened in the summer. So delicious, it's like being in France. It's wonderful because the pastries aren't too sweet. There always seems to be at least a couple pastries I've never seen there each time so we are still trying something new each time. I do wish that they would write out the descriptions for the pastries - they sound even more delicious once we find out what they are. My only complaint is that I saw the most fabulous chocolate tart on their website and we've yet to see it available yet. read more
