I just purchased my first firearm from them. I am a 65 year old woman from a family of non-hunters/non-gun owners. I've decided to be prepared for anything since the world has gone crazy and the Minneapolis riots were not far from my home. The store is bright and immaculate and the displays are beautifully done making it easy to see the guns from all angles. Everyone there is friendly, perfect gentlemen/ladies, absolutely respectful and particularly helpful to someone who knows nothing whatsoever about guns or shooting (kind of a scary thing if you know what I mean). Safety practices handling the guns was meticulously taught and used. Hans helped me; rest assured his knowledge and experience run deep! He made my purchase decision easier by meeting me at the police range, for a Handgun Class with 4 guns of his own which I could actually shoot and compare before buying. I considered this reassuring, good business and going way above and beyond. I ended up buying an H&K VP9. I can rack it with reasonable ease, it is heavy enough for home defense, and can be carried (although a little bigger for that--I don't mind it). Most of all, with Hans' guidance I was able to aim and hit the center of the target at 28ft on first tries and the kick is no more than a Glock. I used to love Arnzen Arms in Eden Prairie. I purchased at least one handgun, optics, and other accessories and have always been very happy with their service. But I recently purchased a Tikka short barrel Tactical .308 for about $1600. About two weeks later I unboxed it and discovered it was a used gun. I know that Tikka fires several rounds at the factory to ensure accuracy. But this gun was filthy. The bolt was gritty with dirt, the barrel took numerous passes to get it clean. The trigger adjustment and retainer were loose in the trigger box. I called Arnzen and was told that I had the chance to inspect it at the shop. I did do a cursory inspection and thought all was well. I was also told that I was unable to return it. I thought, for sure someone would have called me but no one did. Like I said, this used to be my favorite shop in the Twin Cities. Now I'm not so sure. The upside is that after doing some extensive cleaning and fixing the trigger the gun shoots very well. I just don't think it was fair to sell me this gun as new and at a new price. And then not even talk with me about it. read more

The help here is super friendly and knowledgable. They can assist you in any level of questions regarding the brands they carry. They use what they sell. I have been to other shops that give me a confused look when I ask about LEM or DA triggers on HKs. Product selection is excellent. Wilson Combat/Ed Brown to Ruger and everything in between handgun wise. Good long gun selection as well and lots of Ammo choices. Must mention how bright and clean it is. I was referred to Arnzen by a local gun range to help me understand and value a private party purchase that I was considering. This was my first and only time I visited Arnzen. When I arrived I let them know that I was referred to them since they're a distributor for the brand that I was looking to purchase from a friend. They said if you want information, I need to pay them for their time. This was the first time in my life that I've been asked to pay for time at a retail gun dealer. Not even cabelas has done that. I agreed to pay the $15 they wanted. The 3 minutes of information they gave me I wrote down on a post it note. No real value in anything they said. Being that I own 30 plus guns and actively buy guns and ammo, I'd think the would be more customer service oriented. In my business, you always put the customer first in hopes of referrals or future business. It's good for me that there are many other gun stores that I can do business with. read more

I've been an Arnzen Arms customer since they opened. Recently purchased a Sig P365XL from them. Took it to the range and found that the slide release wouldn't work. It won't work on an empty chamber, with a magazine inserted, or with a loaded magazine inserted. Called Arnzen and a nice lady said bring it in, that Arnzen would send it back to Sig for repairs. I arrive at the store and two "gentlemen" behind the counter proceed to tell me I should just slingshot the gun but if it bothers me I could get a gunsmith to fix it - on a new gun, purchased from Arnzen Arms. I'm always excited to be there when I visit. The staff is friendly, the store is very clean and well-lit, and they have a really good inventory. We took my wife in to get her first gun a few months back and the employee who helped us was very knowledgeable. He talked to us in great detail about what my wife was looking for, the fit in her hand, etc. Ultimately we settled on a gun that I have to say was great for not only her, but one I really enjoy as well. The prices may be a little bit higher than places like Gander Mountain or Cabela's but not by much. I'd much rather spend a little bit more here than wait in line for 30 minutes just to be helped like you have to at Gander. I also like the fact that they have shop dogs here now and then. Reviews actually lived up to the hype and exceeded my expectations. Anytime I get to be greeted by a friendly dog it puts a smile on my face. More importantly my wife's. When I'm looking for a good Mexican restaurant I look for a place that's packed with Mexicans. When I'm looking for a good gun store, and I walk into a clean place that has 4 people working and all of them appear to be swamped with customers, I see that as a good thing. Chris was very helpful, made my wife feel at ease as there were no dumb questions for him. He helped me turn a small purchase for my wife into a large purchase for both of us. Sold me a few guns and they are very helpful. Bought my 1st pistol here from a recommendation through a friend. Went back for more as the service was great. I did find my gun for sale at another local retailer for $100 cheaper- Arnzen would not match the price. Their ammo is decently priced but can be found cheaper online or at S.Guide. I'll be back for future purchases. If they take the time with you that they did with me you will be very happy you went here. Great place, bright, friendly, knowledgeable, and educational. I attempted to order a handgun. I made the purchase, and waited- the website said it would be 5-7 days to ship. I emailed for an update, which was never answered. I called on the 8th day, to be told it would be another 7-10 days. I asked why, and was told that the distributor didn't have any. They were looking at another distributor, which showed one in stock. I cancelled, because I felt unimportant to them. They should have communicated the delay to me, especially when I had requested an update. I did not get the feeling that my business was important- and this was a $1600+ handgun. read more

At some point in the spring of 2013, the future Mrs. Carnivore suggested that, as we were in Eden Prairie already, we might stop by this new gun store and have a look around. I eagerly agreed, being one to never pass up an opportunity to look at, touch, and perhaps buy guns or related items. Yes, the Carnivore is armed. The store is clean, and like as not, when you walk in, you will be happily greeted by Junior or Gin, the shop dogs who are ridiculously friendly. Arnzen Arms has a broad selection that, while not the largest in the area, is certainly large enough to have most of what you might want, and the ability to order what they do not have. The prices at Arnzen are competitive, and will likely be lower than a local chain that most people would consider first. Please, if you are interested in guns for target shooting, competition, personal defense, or hunting, step outside the normal mindset and take a trip to Arnzen Arms. The staff is wonderful. I have talked to most of them at one time or another, and I can happily state that they know their stuff. Perhaps the most annoying, bothersome, and even unsafe thing that I encounter while shopping for guns and things is an ill informed staff. Any business should have training equal to the tasks they set their workers to do. At Arnzen Arms, if anyone does not know the answer to a question, they will find someone who does, or learn the answer themselves. I have never been told something I know or later found out to be not true here. I cannot say the same for a certain chain of outdoor stores that may or may not involve goose and geography terminology. Marty is their optics guy. If you need a scope, or have questions about them, he is well worth a listen. Dan and Kate, from which the store takes its name, are friendly and knowledgeable, and will make an effort to get to know you as a person, not just as a customer. Gunnar, Andre, Steve, and Kyle are all shooters, and have a vast repository of knowledge that they are happy to share. That leaves Mike. Mike gets his own paragraph. Mike Reilly is a character. He is tremendously kind-hearted, and will see to any question about self defense you might have. He also teaches various self defense classes, including MN Carry. Mrs. Carnivore took her Carry permit class with him, and I joined her for the shooting portion. She was very happy with his class, and we both had a great, fun, educational, and informative time shooting under his instruction. We did more in the two hours or so of that class than I have been able to do at a live range. Drawing and shooting, shooting while moving, shooting from nonstandard positions, and much more. These things you are not permitted to do at any gun range I have ever been to, and are things that many firearms instructors will not do, but are tremendously helpful and instructive. Because of this class, I have a holster that I will not use unless I have it altered in a certain way. I would likely not have found that out ever, or until it was too late to fix. Thank you, Mike, for that!!! If you buy a gun online, it must be shipped to someone with an FFL (If you do not know what that is, you do not need to know what that is), who will then run your Federally mandated anal exam, do paperwork, and turn the gun over to you. This process generally involves a fee that ranges from $10 (very rare) to over $50. Arnzen Arms charges $20, which is more than reasonable, and the lowest I have seen for an actual store. Bottom line, visit this store. If you are a shooter looking for more stuff, you could do a lot worse, and probably couldn't do much better than Arnzen. If you have never held a gun before and would like to, I cannot think of a more welcoming retail store. If you need accessories, Arnzen Arms has them. The Carnivore household has laser training devices and a number of holsters and gear that were purchased here. I am reasonably sure if you just wanted to stop in and look around, and maybe pet a dog or two, they wouldn't mind. Though not the most convenient, I am happy to call Arnzen Arms "my gun store." You should too. There is a sign on the counter that reads "GUNS ARE WELCOME ON PREMISES. PLEASE KEEP ALL WEAPONS HOLSTERED UNLESS NEED ARISES. IN SUCH A CASE, JUDICIOUS MARKSMANSHIP IS APPRECIATED" This is a gun store, people inside will have guns, and they are wonderful people worth taking the time to get to know. Polite staff but not mask friendly during the pandemic. I was asked to leave a few minutes after entering while wearing a respirator after complying with their request to show my face to the cameras. I understand the issue of stores not wanting people wearing masks under normal circumstances but there's a pandemic on at the moment and I don't want to catch it. Purchased my first hand gun from Arnzen with a plan to purchase four more for my family members. Decided to pay the higher non-negotiable price thinking it would be worth the customer service. I should have known better!!! The few times I was in the store, not once was I greeted with the typical courtesy that should be used. I felt like it was a burden I had to be helped. Will not be going back unless I absolutely have to. Already working with another dealer on the other hand gun purchases for my family as well as an AR10/AR15. I'm a new gun owner, and was looking for a new stock or some extra magazines for my Ruger 10/22 takedown which I received as a gift. I went into Arnzen Arms because I checked out their website and saw that they had some of the things I was looking for on the online store. I figured maybe they would carry some of those things in their actual store, so I drove 45 minutes to check it out. I had an open mind walking into the store, I could've been talked into buying pretty much any accessory for my gun. I looked around a bit and was fascinated by a lot of the different firearms and products that they had to offer. The store, and guns, are intimidating to begin with, so naturally I was a little nervous because I wanted to make sure I didn't sound stupid and that I was using the proper etiquette for a gun store. I've taken gun safety classes and have been around guns a good amount throughout my life but have never owned my own. I know that guns are something that should be taken very seriously. Being a new gun owner I wasn't really sure exactly what I needed so I asked an employee at the counter if they carried any stocks or magazines for the Ruger 10/22 takedown. The employee, I didn't catch his name, was very condescending with me and said that they didn't carry stocks but they had some BX-25's over on the wall which he pointed at. The employee was very short with me and kind of rude. There was no customer service. The guy didn't try to sell any of his products to me... Usually a salesman would offer up suggestions for things I could buy to upgrade my gun, or offer to order a product off of their website for me (the products I was looking for were available on the website). I recently sent them a message requesting information on their availability of a shotgun I was after and promptly received a response from their staff stating they did have this gun in stock. I was told specifically which manager to ask for if I was interested in making a purchase as he was very familiar with the maker. I called and spoke with Jason, one of their store managers with Fabarm knowledge, and had a great experience with him. He was able to answer specific questions I had in regards to different models of this gun and long story short I made a purchase with Jason. Not even an hour after getting off the phone I had a Fedex shipment notification for my gun heading to my local FFL. Arnzen Arms Eden Prairie, MN is by far one of the top two gun stores that I have worked with and purchased from in MN. The store is rates a five star rating for its attentive and knowledgeable staff with outstanding attitudes, no question is given a rolling of the eyes. One feels as though this is a store full of people that one can be trusted without question, not a one man band. It's great to have a top-notch shop selling top grade product offerings in the area. They have a true showroom where one can see and touch the items that one would want to purchase and not just a stack of grubby oil stained catalogs. Arnzen arms is my new "go to" for firearms. The staff is very easy to work with, very helpful, very knowledgeable and all experienced shooters. The selection of firearms includes upper class, higher quality firearms. They don't do "junk". You won't find any Hi Points in this shop. The prices are competitive and anything they don't have on hand, they will find for you. They also stock some harder to find items like metal targets and stands. If you're a 3 gunner, they also have some of that gear. Overall, in the year or two they've been open I've only had one complaint.....they are closed on Sundays. Sunday is my fun day, my run around and gun day. So I was disappointed to drive in their driveway and find them closed. The store is bright and welcoming and any business that has it's own staff of K9's is my kind of place. I will return to Arnzen, I will send my friends to Arnzen and I strongly suggest you visit their store as well. Class operation. I couldn't praise these folks enough. Job well done. read more
