Review Visit: April 10th, 2017 Aroma = Amora. Aroma backwards is Amora and Amora means 'love' in Spanish. I do love some good coffee, but do I love Aroma? Yes. Aroma was fantastic. When driving to it, it was a bit hard to find due to it being tucked in with a placed called The Green Thumbers, which is a pretty nifty gardening store in itself. So aside from being attached to a gardening store, it is a full-fledged cafe/coffeehouse on it's own. Upon entering, the staff was super nice and struck up a conversation and asked what I was doing today. Told them the boring part of my business reasons for being in the area, but also the fact that I like to try new coffee places while out and about. They offer a large variety of coffees, lattes, frappes, baked goods, sandwiches, salads and more. I ended up just getting a specialty drink called 'The Tuxedo', which was hot espresso and milk with white and dark Mocha added to it. It sounded pretty good and it did not disappoint at all. In their display of baked goods, they had a chocolate peanut butter cookie that was calling my name... or my sweet tooth was calling for it. Either way, I requested that along with my coffee. The barista even offered to warm it up. I tell you, this may be one of the best cookies I have ever had. I've had some of the best across Illinois, especially at Insomnia Cookies, and this place may rival them on the cookie level. The interior is very formal with out being too formal. It felt cozy but modern. Everything was gray/white/black with nice furniture and some wall decor. But the best part? The two stuffed bears in there. One was about 5 feet tall and there was a baby bear on the other side of the chair, holding a coffee cup. You can see them below. They aren't taxidermy bears mind you, but stuffed plush bears from the store it is attached to. This is the second coffeehouse I have been to with bears in it, the first being Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. in Peoria, IL. Bears and Coffee go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly... maybe? No bear puns yet? That's un-bear-able! Overall, Aroma Coffee is Amora indeed! The coffee was great, the cookie was beyond amazing and getting your photo taken with the bear is an added bonus. Aside from it being a bit hidden so one could easily drive by, it is worth hunting for. The coffee/cookies that is. Not the adorable bears inside. read more

Would be a 5/5 star if they allowed service animals (it's illegal not to) Though I didn't have a service animal I know many who rely on them so it's upsetting :( many restaurants allow working dogs and even just some dog friends but a cafe attached to a garden doesn't? Everything else was good though I'd go back for the crepes read more

My husband and I were told we could not come in with our ADA registered service dog today! I guess if you have a disability and have your service dog with you, you have to leave! This is definitely the best coffee shop in Davenport if you're looking for someplace to study/get work done! It's a cute coffee shop connected to a garden center. They have a lot of unique specialty drinks, but my go-to is usually the iced coffee with some almond milk. Hubby loves their Zoomers, which is a flavored energy drink where you get to pick any two fruity flavors to mix. We've tried their sandwiches before too, and they're an awesome mid-study lunch! read more

What a great addition to the QC coffee scene! (I know it's been around for a while, but this was my first time!) I loved everything about this place! First, the coffee. I had a delicious cold brew that was to die for! It has me WIRED right now! Tasted great and was very refreshing. Second, the food. This time all I got was a scone, which was GREAT, next time I'll have to try their salads! Saw some being delivered to tables and they looked amazing! Third, atmosphere. LOVED IT. Definitely a hidden gem. It's really hidden (was hiding from me for a quite some time!!) Awesome atmosphere. Very relaxing. Nice decors, furnitures, good pastries, friendly service. One star is not fair when it comes to coffee and atmosphere but I have decided that putting up with crappy service from the manager for a couple years is enough. She has a terrible attitude. The girls that work for her are great but she acts as if she is miserable being there. I have come here hundreds of times and spent thousands of dollars over the last 6 years but today she let me know that I was not to have outside food or drink on the patio and she was so crappy about it that I left. The people I was with had ordered at Aroma but I had a drink that I was finishing and didn't wish to order again. I understand that the rules are just that but at the end of the day, I think they should take into account my history and decide if that is the hill they want to die on. And I guess it was. Walking it's a garden center to get to a coffee shop may not seem...normal. I was set to settle with a corner carved out for coffee with a table, maybe two. I was so pleased to walk into a cafe setting with an entire separate area from the store designated for drinking coffee, eating sandwiches, and socializing/studying. I had an americano and the person I was with had an americano and a Sandwhich. Their portion sizes are generous! The atmosphere is beautiful, calming, and certainly not what you'd expect walking into a garden center! I have allergies and was very appreciative of the separation between the plants and the dining area. I sat inside the entire time I was there, but to get there, you can't miss the outdoor seating area. You can't miss is because it's beautiful. It, again, is separated from the rest of the store, so it feels like two separate operations. Perfect for a nice cool day! (It was 90 degrees when I went, so we opted for air conditioning.) Bottom line: If you're looking to get together over a cup of coffee, or looking for a place to study, DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS PLACE!
