Weak and small portions of Mulligatawny soup...
    Bill B.

If you want to spend a good amount of scratch for very small portions, this is your place. You get better portions and better quality/tasting from The Oven. Don't waste your time at Aroma.

Aroma Lamb Kebab - ordered for delivery

A co worker wanted to order Indian to be delivered for lunch today. Given that this was $10, I definitely expected more. The pieces are tiny and clearly there aren't very many. She was also underwhelmed by her biriyani and mulligatawny soup. Tiny portions for the price.

About 6 pieces of lamb for $17. Gtfo.

Are you serious??? I paid for this crap??? I've never been more angry about an order in my life. $17 for 6 pieces of lamb and $6 for super small thing of soup. I hope this place goes out of business.

The last piece of chicken was still hot when the meal was over

This might be the best Indian food in Lincoln. I've only been here once, but the food was amazing. My wife was also blown away (figuratively). I had a grilled chicken dish, I saw a picture of it online and our server shows it to the cook, unfortunately I didn't catch the name. It was sizzling hot when it can to the table and the flavor was great. The chicken was grilled to perfection, well seasoned and decently moist. We ordered cheese naan, garlic naan and followed up with a plain naan with our entrées. They we all good, but the plain was a stand out for texture and consistency. I would order the plain if I was only going to get one. My wife had the chicken vindaloo, she was extremely pleased, and said it was her new favorite spot for vindaloo!! The restaurant itself was pretty run down and could use some minor and major repairs. Small things like our napkin dispenser being empty, and larger things like the old worn mismatched booths being in poo. Our table wasn't completely clean either but once we tasted the food we forgot about the issues in the dinning room. At this price point $45 for two meals (one without any side of rice or anything) and 3 naan and no drinks, I would expect a little more care given to the dinning room to elevate the overall experience; however, that being said, we can't wait to go back and try some different dishes.

The first time I went to Aroma's it was pre-pandemic and it was dine-in. I remember the naan was the best part and the food was good. I ordered grubhub today and was VERY surprised by the portions. I paid $12.95 for lamb korma and the container was very small. See photo for reference; one is the lamb korma and the other is the rice container. This is incredibly disappointing and I won't order take out from here again.

Update*** I'm sad because the quality has deteriorated since the opening. Brought a friend here after raving about the food and was very disappointed. Waiter was overwhelmed at inattentive. Food took forever. Naan was burned...the masala was a different color. Really wanted to support after speaking with the co-owner when I first visited, but I'm afraid now I won't be returning. Will update if I do and the quality is back up par. Original Review*** The co-owner/chef was very friendly and knowledgeable from the moment I entered the cozy restaurant. He offered me a lunch menu and was very attuned to when to check in for my order/if anything else was needed throughout the duration of my meal. I'm so glad I stopped here. I ordered the chicken tikki masala lunch portion with a side of naan and it was enough to fill me up AND delicious. The best I've had since moving to Nebraska. The sauce was perfect. The chicken was very tender. The rice was good and it was nice to have a side of salad to cleanse my palette between bites. The naan was GOOD. Perfect consistency and I loved the taste even before scooping up sauce with it. I also ordered meat samosas from the main menu. They were full of beef and green peas and super flavorful with the perfect crisp to the pastry. Loved the green chutney dipping sauce. All-in-all I will definitely be back. Prices were good as well. I think they're cheaper than other nearby options and don't sacrifice the quality at all

This modest downtown fast casual restaurant has delicious food without frills or pretentiousness. Stop in for a quick sit-down meal or order food to go! We tried the chicken momos, paneer naan, Navratran biryani, and the chicken tikka lunch special. The momos were really great, and the hubs said they're just as good as what you can get back home in India. The dumpling wrapper is tender, the flavorful ground chicken filling is juicy, and the dipping sauce complements well. My chicken tikka was juicy, roasty, and tasty! The lunch portion is pretty small, so if you're hungry, you should probably get something in addition or order the regular portion. The navratran biryani is seasoned rice with golden raisins, cashews, and veggies...super delish and not too sweet! The paneer naan was sooo fresh, and the coriander chutney served alongside is herby and awesome. There are a couple drink fridges with canned and bottled drinks, and serve-your-own water in pitchers with refrigerated glasses. Put your worries aside and definitely try this place out. Your belly will be happy you did!

Picked up takeout. The food tasted pretty good, but the dessert-gulag jamun...ridiculously small portion for $4.00! What the hell?

I ordered delivery, so my experience will understandably differ from dining in person, but I was very underwhelmed by the experience. As I'd not dined here prior, I ordered very basic, thinking that Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan would be a safe choice. I was wrong. The Tikka Masala was a soup, not a curry. Additionally, I was only provided with a cup of rice(undercooked, I might add) and no silverware to eat with, so I was forced to make something of a slurry(pictured) with the small serving of rice and ended up drinking the remaining 70% of the Tikka masala. I also purchased an order of Gulab Jamun for $2.75 - another waste of money. Portion was small and it had a very chalky taste - I couldn't finish it. I would've scored this experience with 1 star, but it was more/less edible and delivered warm, so I gave it two stars despite never planning to return here again.

Might have just caught them on a bad day, but the chicken biryani was really dry and lacking of any chicken except for these three dry pieces. Beef samosas were good. Mint chutney was too, but for $16....ehh.

Chicken Tikka Masala. Delicious and perfectly spicy!

They dont have all drinks on the menu and the menu is not updated. They did tell us what was not available but was a generic dont have these and just slid his fingers on the menu. I finally got an iced lemon tea. We initially ordered egg rolls and a hot pot. We ordered spicy soup together with bok choy fungus( wood ear mushrooms) Beef, spam, fishballs and jumbo shrimp and egg noodles with a side of white rice. The soup came with a burner and it wasnt powerful enough to boil the soup on the pot. The pot had no definite style to it. Tasted like soy bean soup with some sichuan peppers. Not excessively spicy and not very flavourful. Our ingredients took a long while to come out- and our egg rolls eventually never came. Practically all the ingredients were frozen with the exception of the fungi and the egg noodles. The sauce station looks thrown together with takeout containers and plenty of sauce. The bbq sauce had part of a spoon which was broken off in the sauce. The sauces are similar to haidilao type just not as fresh. But the chives looked a little greyish. Overall, service is not fantastic. We did remind them multiple times about the egg rolls, but it still didn't ever arrive. They at least took it off the bill. We forgot to check about the missing bakchoy. Not sure we will be back anytime soon. Hubby wasn't quite happy with our dinner last night.

We ordered cocktails and Calamari for our appetizer which was perfectly done and lightly breaded, the best we've ever enjoyed. The Seafood Alfredo was to die for, the creamy sauce paired perfectly with huge shrimp, mussels, clams and scallops. The creamy brandy sauce that enveloped my husband's order was delightful. Our service was professional and accommodating. We never felt rushed, it was a leisurely dining experience. My only regret is not ordering the Tiramisu with a cup of coffee to make the perfect finish. Next time. The prices are totally reasonable for such delicious offerings. It reminded me of the old Legion Club, The Nebraska Club and Tony and Luigi's. All three of which are terribly missed. I got the Carsoni (pesto) and did both chicken and shrimp which was $22, it's enough for two meals though so this is fair. The sauce was flavorful, good consistency of oil and basil. Loved that it included mushrooms but could have used more of them in it, also had bell pepper and broccoli. I'm not sure broccoli goes too well with the pesto dish, but it was steamed well and soft. The shrimp were huge and they had 4-5 in the dish. We also did bruschetta as an app, and loved the fresh tomatoes/garlic/herbs on top. Loved the dipping sauce with the bread as im a balsamic/oil freak. The soup was just okay, it was a creamy chicken/potato but it was very pureed and not quite what I was expecting, I'm not sure there was even a chunk of chicken in it. I've definitely had better next time, I'll be inclined to try the salad instead. Drinks were fun, I enjoyed the black raspberry margarita flavor and a limoncello spritz although both appeared a bit too watered down and not too strong. Service was fine, however hard to really judge since we came during mid-day late lunch and I'm pretty sure we were the only table there.
