There are a lot of gyro places in Lincoln. A lot! There is one right next door! We chose this one,…read moreand it was fine. I love a good Greek salad with a lot of vinegar dressing and sometimes this is hard to find. This was not a lot of salad, it had sliced black olives; there was a lot of tomato that just didn't taste good. Dressing was not right. I did love that it was served with some good potatoes which I felt like kind of a cross between Greek potatoes and steak fries. I also like that there was a lot of tzatziki sauce. The meat was nice, not dry. It was just the "salad" part that I didn't love. Maybe next time I would just have a gyro instead. Service was fast, prices were appropriate. We sat outside. The other family members were happy, they are less picky than I am.

I'm super bummed. I just had the worst tandoori chicken kebab I've ever had here. In more than 28…read moreyears of me coming here, this has never happened. The kebab was way smaller, overcooked (dry, whereas they used to be big and so juicy) and under flavored. The yogurt sauce was flavorless and is now served in solo cups (more plastic waste), the salad just tastes like plain overwhelming vinegar. No lemon. No tomato. The potatoes were ok but also no lemon flavor and the rice was super plain, I don't even think there was salt on it. My husband's z plate also was lacking the usual flavors we have come to love. The meat was bland. We are utterly disappointed. The prices have gone up which is understandable if the portions and flavor stay the same. I don't even know if I want to try and come back, it seems like this is the new product the newer owner is serving. Maybe his uncle will come back and refresh his memory.

i cannot stop coming here. seriously. it's so good that today, i ordered it for lunch AND dinner…read more they're a little pricey but i love the "Z sandwich". my husband loves the gyro burger. i will say though, the service is hit or miss. there are times i have a really good experience (friendly, fast, helpful) and other times they barely say anything. one time, my husband i went in and after we got our food the server was taking selfies and watching tiktoks behind the counter. look, i'm pretty young myself but i've worked a restaurant before and would NEVER be doing that, especially on camera IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. most of the time it's pretty good though! still recommend this place to many people.

My husband went to college in Lincoln and he LOVES the Gourmet Grill…read more He has taken me a few times and I definitely see the charm in it, but I think it's a bit of nostalgia adding to the greatness for him. The interior is nothing to write home about, but you can always take your food to go and not eat inside. The last time we were there was in the middle of summer and the A/C was either broken or non-existent and there was water dripping from the ceiling. The only times we've been back to Lincoln and hitting Gourmet Grill also are during Husker football game days, and so the place is BUSY. The seating choices are pretty hard to come by on a normal day, so on game days, you'll be fighting for a place to sit - another reason to do grab-and-go. Their burgers are massive and taste like they've come off a grill that hasn't been cleaned in years, which gives it a real authentic taste (and I'm not joking, either, it's so good). And the Gyro Burger (the burger but with gyro meat added) is a good choice too. The fries are pretty good also, if you're a fan of crinkle fries (probably frozen, but that's fine, I'm sure every place has some item frozen on their menu). One of the best things on the menu, though is the Baklava! It comes wrapped in a plastic film, but it does seem to be homemade. Very flavorful and sweet with the nuttiness you're used to with baklava. Gourmet Grill has their bright spots and good things, so they are definitely worth a stop to check out if you're in Lincoln, to see if you like it!
