We managed to walk in and get a table. We love the vibe. It's very cozy reminding me of a small french cottage. Clean and cozy. We don't drink but they do have an excellent selection of wines. And they do offer cocktails, soda and iced tea Hubby and I have gone non alcoholic and we chose ice tea. We had salmon cakes for appetisers, it came out quick Delicious crispy. Hubby's salad came out pretty much the same time. It looked delicious and fresh. Combination of vegetables and tomatoes, croutons and dried cranberries and cheese make the salad look delectable and it didnt disappoint. We both took awhile to decide what we wanted. Every dish looked delicious. We finally decided on steak and meatloaf. My meatloaf is to die for. The meatloaf was juicy and had crispy edges with anice tomato sauce on top on a base of mashed potato. The asparagus was perfectly sauteed. Tender not overly done. We then ordered desserts. Hubby ordered the brownie and I got the strawberry mousse. The brownie was light and delicate yet decadent. Let me explain- the brownie is light like a lava cake its a cross between a brownie and a lava cake. Absolutely delish!! It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We pulled up to this quaint little place in a quiet neighborhood and walked in. We noticed the sign outside that said reservations only, but we noticed a couple of empty tables so we went in and asked for a table for 2. The young made a quick check if the dining room and 1 quick check of the reservation book and looked at us to say sure thing, this way please The whole restaurant is quite small, with a nice bar area, and tables that fill it out. I had the beef filet it was served with butter roasted potatoes and asparagus And we started with the salmon cakes. The salmon was flavorful and tasted wonderfully. The beef was cooked nice and cut like cake. It was wonderful. I finished with the house made brownie that was served with ice cream It was an awesome cross between brownie and lava cake. Maaaan... this has to be one of the best food trucks in town. They serve delicious fried chicken and the customer service is on point. This is a 'must-try' for fried chicken enthusiasts. From the moment I stepped up to the window, I was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady which immediately set the tone for the rest of my experience. The menu had a great selection ( fried chicken, pizza puff, cat fish, etc) to choose from, plus fries and a drink. I decided to go for their 6 piece fried chicken meal, which came with a side of perfectly crispy fries and an orange soda. And let me tell you, the chicken was simply amazing. It was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The seasoning was spot on and the chicken was so tender that it melted in my mouth. Even though the service is phenomenal, you're going to have to wait at least 10 minutes for your food to cook up. But it's well worth the wait. The young lady was very attentive to every customer and made sure that we were all catered to quickly and with a smile on her face. Definitely pull up if you're in the area. Same great salmon with bourbon glaze, with the addition of six shrimp. The 6 shrimp were the teeny-tiniest shrimp possible and not worth paying the extra cost. Very little rice on the bed of rice with this entree, compared to just the salmon entree. I will stick to my regular Bourbon-Glazed Salmon, without shrimp. Hailey was a nice server and very attentive.

Literally a thin topsheet of rice Once i took away the sides- it looked very little. I was done within five minutes Have to admit though that the taste was not bad. But very little and definitely not worth the amount we paid for it Also the lemonade machine died whilst we were there. And so we only got one decent glass of lemonade. Will we be back? Maybe... just not anytime soon.

One of the evenings, I got a hankering for BBQ and we decided to try Famous Dave's. I am glad we did. The place is pretty big, so although there were customers, it wasn't supremely full. I noticed when I walked in that the bar area had a sign above it that said either "Nebraska Fans Welcome" or "Cornhusker Fans Welcome" something to that effect. And here I was, in my green Oregon Ducks pullover. Fortunately, nobody said anything about that. We were seated quickly and the place is nice inside. There are sports TVs that had women's college world series games on as I recall. My wife and I went with an appetizer and she got a mixed drink. We decided to split my 3-meat platter since she doesn't eat a lot. Everything we had was fantastic. The BBQ sauce is great and they had other options of BBQ sauce they brought to the table that my wife tried as well. They were kind of hit and miss, but what was on the plate already was great. The brisket was tender. The ribs fell off the bone. The baked potato was excellent and the oft forgotten cornbread was also very good. Usually, the cornbread is pretty dry and crumbles too much, but this one was soft and tasty. Service was also very good as we were checked on just the right amount of times. I really like this place. Jumping ahead to December of 2025, I was in Lincoln for work again. You better believe I stopped at Famous Dave's for dinner. I got in kind of late. The hours of operation were different for winter, so I got in not too terribly long before closing. An order waitress was tending to me and one other table. I was by myself this time, but I knew what I wanted: 3-meat platter. It was outstanding. On top of that, even though I was there right until closing, I wasn't rushed. The waitress had other things to do and checked on me the right amount of times. I was sad it was time to go because I knew I wouldn't be able to eat at Famous Dave's again for quite a while.
