I really wanted to like Aroma Joe's in Oxford, but unfortunately, my experience was pretty frustrating. The service was *incredibly* slow -- I waited way longer than expected for a simple drink, even though there wasn't a long line. What's the point of a drive-thru if it feels like you're stuck in traffic? On top of that, I was looking forward to adding shimmer to my drink (something I've enjoyed at other locations), only to be told they didn't have any. No shimmer at all? It's a small touch, but it makes a big difference when you're paying premium prices for a fun coffee or energy drink. Overall, not impressed. Definitely hoping for quicker service and better-stocked options if I ever decide to give it another try. read more

Drinks are good for the most part, but the staff is extremely slow and doesn't care to try to keep the line moving. One employee was hanging out of the window chatting with a customer/someone they obviously knew for well over 10 minutes and didn't even give them a drink or food at the end of the conversation. read more

The food and drinks here are really good. Especially the hand crafted soda. Service is good. Sometimes, it takes a while if it is busy.

I am writing this as I sit here waiting for my coffee. We have been in line for 20 minutes. Order at the first window... great. The problem is that the menu board isn't at this window, it's behind you. So unless you know the exact name of the beverage you want they won't know what you're talking about. I am unsure if this is a staffing issue or what the problem is but it's now been 25 minutes and we are still waiting for our coffee. I would have left prior to this but once you're in line you can't hop out of line because of the parking lot set up. I've already paid so now we are forded to wait. Do yourself a favor and just head down the road to Dunkin. read more

Update 10/13/20: I was contacted by Aroma Joe's and was sent a gift card so I could try again. Upping my review to 3 Stars for Customer Service. I'm looking forward to trying out Aroma Joe's again. Avoid!!!!! This is what people in Maine think is good coffee? At first sight you think this place must be amazing. A non-moving line on each side of the building? People are waiting a long time for some great coffee! You would think with drive-thru Windows on each side the line would move quicker. Well... service is ridiculously slow for HORRIBLE coffee. We waited at the very least 45 minutes! Ended up paying $15 for 3 coffees and a chai that no one drank. Coffee had no flavor despite requesting 3 different flavors. The chai tasted like NO OTHER chai ever. We're not sure what it even was. My coffee (pictured) was the "Dark Mocha" the description totes "chocolate on chocolate on chocolate" and it's supposed to be made with chocolate milk. The girl taking our order said "it didn't come up like that". I'm not sure what that meant. But, my coffee is pictured below. You would thin at the very least there'd be a chocolate drizzle, or even some sort of dark color. I also asked for double shot of espresso, pretty sure that wasn't in there either. Fantastic to see a coffeeshop open in this area on busy route 26; set up for serious double drive-through action no-less! Watched the construction for a while and finally got a chance to check it out. Good news first: Friendly, fast and well trained baristas & the shop is set up with serious commercial espresso machines & grinders -- always a good sign. The drive-through setup is really nice and convenient as well and they've clearly selected good cups and lids to complement the grab and go drivers. Espresso/latte was very good as well. The only odd touch is the ludicrous sizes they offer - if you hit up the "serious" coffee nerd shops you'll always get the side-eye or a snobbish reply if you want anything larger than a 6oz or 12oz drink. Not here though - if you want your "Sticky Bunn" latte in a 32oz big gulp tub then by gosh they are gonna give you what you want. The ham and cheese croissant was a miss though. It tasted good but looked like it had been run over by a steam roller. It was smashed almost perfectly flat and looked like a sad flaky drink coaster sitting in the little takeout bag. My only guess is that whatever system they have for slicing pastry needs a bit of fine tuning as this poor croissant had clearly been tortured in the assembly phase. The menu and brand marketing is hilarious and reminds me of a bygone era. If you reanimated the corpse of Poochie from the Simpsons and told him to brand a coffeeshop chain I think you'd end up with a similar looking menu and brand identity. Every menu category is "Somthin'" - ("Espressin", "Brewin", "Tweakin", "BreakFASTin", etc. etc.). The only thing missing from the menu is the word "extreme" repeated everywhere but they've got that covered when you want to add an "XX Freaky Flavor" syrup or "Espresso BOMB" to your drink. At some level you gotta think that the franchise operators must be a little bit embarrassed by what corporate is forcing on them. I'll be back, I need my fix. read more

Stopped here at 7:30 pm to get a mango smoothie. Yummy!! Unfortunately...Even though they close at 9pm they couldn't make one. Whaaaaat? "I'm sorry,but I just cleaned the machine" OK, I get that, but your a coffee/smoothie shop?? I can see cleaning the machine 30 minutes before closing, but seriously? Get your stuff together. Now that the weather is here my tastebuds wanted a cool treat. AJ's was the place that hit the spot! I've been twice and have not been disappointed. The customer service is excellent. They now have a frequent buyer card to offer a free drink after five purchases- NICE! Pina Colada Smoothie-delicious. FroJoe all I can say is YUM! I go to Aroma'a a lot, but today while at the Oxford Aroma's. we were waiting on line while the girl working was chatting with two people in the car in front of us. 5-6 minutes passed, they finally ordered. After they received their order, she continued to chat with them. meanwhile the line was really long and 3 cars drove off after waiting so long. I ended up beeping and the girl said goodby to the two people in the car. I pulled up and told her that it was not okay to chat with her friends while working. she said, oh I was just talking to them about a problem they are having. I informed her that they lost 3 customers that I was aware of in the last 15 minutes. she did not appear to car and then had an assistant manager come over. I explained what happened and the assistant manager said they are encouraged to chat with customers. Really...while losing customers? I have to say, this is just poor customer service. guess I will start going to Dunkin. read more

We just had a great experience at this Aroma Joe's! My friend and I stopped by on our way home from Sunday River, having no idea what to order. We didn't get the name of the employee helping us, but she was awesome! Explained everything and waiting for us for about 5 minutes to decide! Then when we picked it up at the next window, we thought we had ordered our coffees iced but probably didn't say it/assumed. The employee who made them took them right back and made them iced for us. She was so sweet.. They both were. Very refreshing! Wish we lived closer, because I'd always go back to this location if we did. read more
