The restaurant is trying very hard to be an upscale place but still has a way to go. The tapa plates are pretty small and expensive. Even though the food is good, I wouldn't say it was anything special or extraordinary. On the night we were there (Friday), they had 1 girl who was both a host and a waiter for about 10 tables. We tried this place for late lunch the day before but it was closed. If they lowered their prices a bit, then the overall value would be better and they would have made a better impression on me. read more

Attended the restaurant. It has its own parking which is very nice. This is very much tapas style restaurant, but with entree prices. The food is served in these beautiful dishes that are all white, but the food will equate to the smallest appetizer that you can imagine. The taste was also sub par. Food tasted greasy and not so fresh particularly the meat ones, but the philo-dough stuff was much better. Food was served in a scattered fashion and took a very long time. Overall a disappointing experience. You can get much better food in Ottawa for the price and ambience. read more

Had heard great things about this restaurant so decided to check it out. It's a cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating while still maintaining a small feel. The menu is amazing! Lots of options, including seafood, meats and vegetables. The plates are tapas plates so perfect for sharing and it did not disappoint. The flavours were amazing, and the small plates ensure you're able to sample lots of different foods. Finished the meal with the feta cheese cake which was just incredible! Went here with some friends for dinner. Unlike other reviews I found the portions to be reasonable - larger than the average tapas place I've been to. Our table (7 people) agreed that the food was great. The ribs in particular stood out - they were huge and had great flavour. I didn't have any beer or wine so I can't comment on that, but the rest was excellent. The location was good, clean place, nice ambiance without being pretentious. There was a recent change in management which may not be reflected in older reviews (pre-2014). I'm not sure how the previous owner ran it, but from what I can tell the current management does an excellent job. read more

We came here with a group of friends. They have a mouth-watering list of dishes to choose from. Portions were filling considering it was tapas style. They accommodate to gluten-free diets with loads of substitutes. Service was friendly but we did have to wait longer than expected between dishes. Glad we found this place on our first night in Ottawa. The place is pretty tiny - it can only fit 22 people inside. There are some patio space too but for us it was still too cold at this time of the year to sit outside. So we were lucky to get the last table for 2 that night without having to wait. The service was excellent even though there was only one waiter to care for all guests. The place also has lots and lots of vegetarian choices, which is another plus for us. We ended up getting 6 mezes and one dessert. Our fave dishes were the char-grilled crimini (mushroom) and the beetroot tower. And the chocolate explosions dessert was also fantastic! read more

Wow. We selected this as the closing experience for our Canada vacation, and it was fantastic. They tolerated our two kids, and although things moved slowly, it was a wonderful experience. All of the plates, except for the tomato fritters, were legendary in terms of their quality, taste, and appreciation by the entire family. We ordered the Ouzo Shrimp, the shrimp gnocchi, the beef in ginger and pesto, fish tacos, and the tomato fritters. We had the chocolate coconut mousse, creame brulee, and watermelon sorbet for dessert. The cocktails were lovely and original. One start lost for serving crown instead of scotch in one of the cocktails and leaving out the cherry. :) read more

Recently went to this little restaurant, we made reservations for a Monday evening at 6:30 when we arrived our table was ready. The place was fairly busy - a couple of tables on the patio filled and 4 other quests inside as well as our party of 6. One waiter - very good waiter We opted for the Chefs choice and were brought an array of dishes that were just wonderful - excellent Calamaria and lots of cheese dishes also. Last dish was assorted sausages - this was good but I would have preferred something with lamb. At 8:30 a group of diners arrived (40 people) and we were suddenly forgotten and waited a very long time for our next dish. Would return for lunch - and hope they have more then 1 waiter, and hope the dishes are clean - 6 plates at our table were greasy and had to be returned!! Not a good start to a meal read more

We are from Vancouver and dine out a fair bit. This place had the best food we've tried in ages; some standout dishes, such as the grilled squid and the shrimp with gnocchi. Lots of meat and veg choices as well. Reasonably priced wine, very knowledgable and attentive service. Only weak points we found were the overly bright lighting ( pity in such a cozy space ) and the bland dolmades . Both would be easy to tweak. Still, definitely a five star worthy place. Ordering a gift certificate and paying by phone proved to be somewhat challenging as there was no call back within a business day, as promised. Again easy to remedy. read more

Very disappointed as I was told that I could not order what I wanted as "the kitchen can only make one dish at a time" so as my colleagues are "enjoying" their lunch I will be watching them eat. My first time was with my husband....to dine at this wonderful restaurant!!!! What a lovely evening. Well trained service, attention to detail. The food was delicious and very well priced. An forgettable evening, right down to the flaming liqueurs!! The second time was as a family. The children absolutely loved it. Our server was well versed in their menu and was able to answer ALL questions....and they had plenty...our server was also patient, and quite clever at guiding our children efficiently through their menu options. Most of the service was good except one waitress embarrassed me in front of my friends. We split the bill and I gave her my bill printed out for me for my portion and not sure why she asked me if I'm paying half on my bill. I told her I'm paying full on my bill - meaning the bill I handed to her. And she started saying I confused her. Not sure who confused whom? Why was this question even asked in the first place. Three of us had dinner and they adjusted the dishes to give three portions instead of two. OK, 3.5 stars. We came here for dinner after a pretty filling lunch. Between my husband and me, we really only ordered 4.5 tapas, which I felt a little rude about for not ordering more, but we didn't want to overeat either. The tapas were all good but forgettable. We were a little disappointed considering all of the good reviews! It was our anniversary, and they did bring us out a creme brulee with sparklers and didn't charge for it! The creme brulee was really good. But overall, a nice meal, but unfortunately nothing to write home about. :( read more
